Luke 12
1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware all of you of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
Ajuntando-se entretanto muitos milhares de pessoas, de sorte que se atropellavam uns aos outros, começou a dizer aos seus discipulos: Acautelae-vos primeiramente do fermento dos phariseos, que é a hypocrisia.
2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
Mas nada ha encoberto que não haja de ser descoberto; nem occulto, que não haja de ser sabido.
3 Therefore whatsoever all of you have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which all of you have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
Porquanto tudo o que em trevas dissestes á luz será ouvido; e o que fallastes ao ouvido no gabinete sobre os telhados será apregoado.
4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
E digo-vos, amigos meus; Não temaes os que matam o corpo, e depois não teem mais que fazer.
5 But I will forewarn you whom all of you shall fear: Fear him, which after he has killed has power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. (Geenna g1067)
Mas eu vos mostrarei a quem deveis temer; temei aquelle que, depois de matar, tem poder para lançar no inferno; sim, vos digo, a esse temei. (Geenna g1067)
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?
Não se vendem cinco passarinhos por dois ceitis? E nenhum d'elles está esquecido diante de Deus.
7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: all of you are of more value than many sparrows.
E até os cabellos da vossa cabeça estão todos contados. Não temaes pois; mais valeis vós do que muitos passarinhos.
8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:
E digo-vos que todo aquelle que me confessar diante dos homens, tambem o Filho do homem o confessará diante dos anjos de Deus.
9 But he that denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
Mas quem me negar diante dos homens será negado diante dos anjos de Deus.
10 And whosoever shall speak a word (logos) against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemes against the Holy Spirit (pneuma) it shall not be forgiven.
E a todo aquelle que disser uma palavra contra o Filho do homem ser-lhe-ha perdoada, mas ao que blasphemar contra o Espirito Sancto não lhe será perdoado.
11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take all of you no thought how or what thing all of you shall answer, or what all of you shall say:
E, quando vos conduzirem ás synagogas, aos magistrados e potestades, não estejaes solicitos de como ou do que haveis de responder nem do que haveis de fallar.
12 For the Holy Spirit (pneuma) shall teach you in the same hour what all of you ought to say.
Porque na mesma hora vos ensinará o Espirito Sancto o que vos convenha fallar.
13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
E disse-lhe um da multidão: Mestre, dize a meu irmão que reparta comigo a herança.
14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
Mas elle lhe disse: Homem, quem me poz a mim por juiz ou repartidor entre vós?
15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.
E disse-lhes: Acautelae-vos e guardae-vos da avareza; porque a vida de qualquer não consiste na abundancia dos bens que possue.
16 And he spoke a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
E propoz-lhes uma parabola, dizendo: A herdade d'um homem rico tinha produzido com abundancia;
17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
E arrazoava elle entre si, dizendo: Que farei? Não tenho onde recolher os meus fructos.
18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
E disse: Farei isto: Derribarei os meus celleiros, e edificarei outros maiores, e ali recolherei todas as minhas novidades e os meus bens;
19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have much goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
E direi á minha alma: Alma, tens em deposito muitos bens para muitos annos: descança, come, bebe, e folga.
20 But God said unto him, You fool, this night your soul shall be required of you: then whose shall those things be, which you have provided?
Porém Deus lhe disse: Louco, esta noite te pedirão a tua alma; e o que tens preparado para quem será?
21 So is he that lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
Assim é o que para si ajunta thesouros, e não é rico para com Deus.
22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what all of you shall eat; neither for the body, what all of you shall put on.
E disse aos seus discipulos: Portanto vos digo: Não estejaes solicitos pela vossa vida, no que comereis, nem pelo corpo, no que vestireis.
23 The life is more than food, and the body is more than raiment.
Mais é a vida do que o sustento, e o corpo mais do que o vestido.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them: how much more are all of you better than the fowls?
Considerae os corvos, que nem semeiam, nem segam, nem teem dispensa nem celleiro, e Deus os alimenta: quanto mais valeis vós do que as aves?
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
E qual de vós, sendo solicito, pode accrescentar um covado á sua estatura?
26 If all of you then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take all of you thought for the rest?
Pois, se nem ainda podeis fazer as coisas minimas, porque estaes solicitos pelo mais?
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Considerae os lirios, como elles crescem; não trabalham, nem fiam; e digo-vos que nem ainda Salomão, em toda a sua gloria, se vestiu como um d'elles.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O all of you of little faith?
E, se Deus assim veste a herva que hoje está no campo, e ámanhã é lançada no forno, quanto mais a vós, homens de pouca fé?
29 And seek not all of you what all of you shall eat, or what all of you shall drink, neither be all of you of doubtful mind.
Vós pois não pergunteis que haveis de comer, ou que haveis de beber, e não andeis inquietos.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knows that all of you have need of these things.
Porque as gentes do mundo buscam todas essas coisas; mas vosso Pae sabe que haveis mister d'ellas.
31 But rather seek all of you the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Buscae antes o reino de Deus, e todas estas coisas vos serão accrescentadas.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Não temas, ó pequeno rebanho, porque a vosso Pae agradou dar-vos o reino.
33 Sell that all of you have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts.
Vendei o que tendes, e dae esmola. Fazei para vós bolsas que não se envelheçam; thesouro nos céus que nunca acabe, aonde não chega ladrão, e a traça não roe.
34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Porque, onde estiver o vosso thesouro, ali estará tambem o vosso coração.
35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
Estejam cingidos os vossos lombos, e accesas as vossas candeias.
36 And all of you yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he comes and knocks, they may open unto him immediately.
E sêde vós similhantes aos homens que esperam a seu senhor, quando houver de voltar das bodas, para que, quando vier, e bater, logo possam abrir-lhe.
37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he comes shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to food, and will come forth and serve them.
Bemaventurados aquelles servos, os quaes, quando o Senhor vier, os achar vigiando! Em verdade vos digo que se cingirá, e os fará assentar á mesa, e, chegando-se, os servirá.
38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
E, se vier na segunda vigilia, e se vier na terceira vigilia, e os achar assim, bemaventurados são os taes servos.
39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
Sabei, porém, isto, que, se o pae de familia soubesse a que hora, havia de vir o ladrão, vigiaria, e não deixaria minar a sua casa.
40 Be all of you therefore ready also: for the Son of man comes at an hour when all of you think not.
Portanto, estae vós tambem apercebidos; porque virá o Filho do homem a hora que não imaginaes.
41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speak you this parable unto us, or even to all?
E disse-lhe Pedro: Senhor, dizes essa parabola a nós, ou tambem a todos?
42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season?
E disse o Senhor: Qual é pois o mordomo fiel e prudente, a quem o senhor poz sobre os seus servos, para lhes dar a tempo a ração?
43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find so doing.
Bemaventurado aquelle servo, o qual o senhor, quando vier, achar fazendo assim.
44 Truthfully I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he has.
Em verdade vos digo que sobre todos os seus bens o porá.
45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delays his coming; and shall begin to beat the male servants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
Mas, se aquelle servo disser em seu coração: O meu senhor tarda em vir; e começar a espancar os creados e creadas, e a comer, e a beber, e a embriagar-se,
46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looks not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
Virá o senhor d'aquelle servo no dia em que o não espera, e n'uma hora que elle não sabe, e separal-o-ha, e porá a sua parte com os infieis.
47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
E o servo que soube a vontade do seu senhor, e não se apercebeu, nem fez conforme a sua vontade, será castigado com muitos açoites;
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Mas o que a não soube, e fez coisas dignas de açoites, com poucos açoites será castigado. E, a qualquer que muito fôr dado, muito se lhe pedirá, e ao que muito se lhe confiou muito mais se lhe pedirá.
49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
Vim lançar fogo na terra; e que quero, se já está acceso?
50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!
Importa, porém, que seja baptizado com um baptismo; e como me angustio até que venha a cumprir-se!
51 Suppose all of you that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:
Cuidaes vós que vim dar paz á terra? Não, vos digo, mas antes dissensão;
52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.
Porque d'aqui em diante estarão cinco divididos n'uma casa: tres contra dois, e dois contra tres:
53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
O pae estará dividido contra o filho, e o filho contra o pae; a mãe contra a filha, e a filha contra a mãe; a sogra contra sua nora, e a nora contra sua sogra.
54 And he said also to the people, When all of you see a cloud rise out of the west, immediately all of you say, There comes a shower; and so it is.
E dizia tambem á multidão: Quando vêdes a nuvem que vem do occidente, logo dizeis: Lá vem chuva, e assim succede.
55 And when all of you see the south wind blow, all of you say, There will be heat; and it comes to pass.
E, quando assopra o sul, dizeis: Haverá calma; e assim succede.
56 All of you hypocrites, all of you can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that all of you do not discern this time?
Hypocritas, sabeis distinguir a face da terra e do céu, e como não distinguis este tempo?
57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge all of you not what is right?
E porque não julgaes tambem por vós mesmos o que é justo?
58 When you go with your adversary to the magistrate, as you are in the way, give diligence that you may be delivered from him; lest he hale you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer cast you into prison.
Quando pois vaes com o teu adversario ao magistrado, procura livrar-te d'elle no caminho; para que não succeda que te conduza ao juiz, e o juiz te entregue ao meirinho, e o meirinho te encerre na prisão.
59 I tell you, you shall not depart thence, till you have paid the very last mite.
Digo-te que não sairás d'ali emquanto não pagares o derradeiro ceitil.
