Joshua 17

1 There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to know, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.

൧യോസേഫിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതനായ മനശ്ശെയുടെ ഗോത്രത്തിന് ഓഹരിയായി കിട്ടിയ ദേശങ്ങൾ; മനശ്ശെയുടെ ആദ്യജാതനും ഗിലെയാദിന്റെ അപ്പനും ആയ മാഖീർ യുദ്ധവീരനായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അവന് ഗിലെയാദും ബാശാനും ലഭിച്ചു.

2 There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: these were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families.

൨മനശ്ശെയുടെ മറ്റ് പുത്രന്മാരായ അബീയേസെർ, ഹേലെക്, അസ്രീയേൽ, ശേഖെം, ഹേഫെർ, ശെമീദാവ് എന്നിവർക്കും കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി ഓഹരി കിട്ടി; ഇവർ യോസേഫിന്റെ മകനായ മനശ്ശെയുടെ ആൺ മക്കൾ ആയിരുന്നു.

3 But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: and these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.

൩എന്നാൽ മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ മാഖീരിന്റെ മകനായ ഗിലെയാദിന്റെ മകനായ ഹേഫെരിന്റെ മകൻ ശെലോഫെഹാദിന് പുത്രന്മാർ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു; അവന് മഹ്ല, നോവ, ഹോഗ്ല, മിൽക്ക, തിർസ എന്നീ പുത്രിമാർ മാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു.

4 And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.

൪അവർ പുരോഹിതനായ എലെയാസരിന്റെയും നൂന്റെ മകനായ യോശുവയുടെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും അടുത്ത് ചെന്ന്: “സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ഒരു അവകാശം ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് തരുവാൻ യഹോവ മോശെയോട് കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ യഹോവയുടെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം അവരുടെ അപ്പന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ അവർക്ക് ഒരു അവകാശം കൊടുത്തു.

5 And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan;

൫ഇങ്ങനെ മനശ്ശെയുടെ പുത്രിമാർക്ക് അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ അവകാശം ലഭിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് മനശ്ശെ ഗോത്രത്തിന് യോർദ്ദാന്‍ നദിക്കക്കരെ ഗിലെയാദ്‌ദേശവും ബാശാനും കൂടാതെ പത്ത് ഓഹരികൾകൂടി കിട്ടി.

6 Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead.

൬മനശ്ശെയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർക്ക് ഗിലെയാദ്‌ദേശവും കിട്ടി.

7 And the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lies before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of Entappuah.

൭മനശ്ശെയുടെ അതിരോ, ആശേർമുതൽ ശെഖേമിന് കിഴക്കുള്ള മിഖ്മെഥാത്ത്‌വരെ ആയിരുന്നു. അത് തെക്കോട്ട് തിരിഞ്ഞ് ഏൻ-തപ്പൂഹയിലെ നിവാസികളുടെ അടുക്കലോളം നീണ്ടു കിടക്കുന്നു.

8 Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;

൮തപ്പൂഹദേശം മനശ്ശെക്കുള്ളതായിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും മനശ്ശെയുടെ അതിരിലുള്ള തപ്പൂഹപട്ടണം എഫ്രയീമ്യർക്ക് ഉള്ളതായിരുന്നു.

9 And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the utmost limit of it were at the sea:

൯പിന്നെ ആ അതിർ കാനാ തോടിന്റെ തെക്കുകൂടി ഇറങ്ങുന്നു. ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ മനശ്ശെയുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ എഫ്രയീമിനുള്ളവ; മനശ്ശെയുടെ അതിർ തോട്ടിന്റെ വടക്കുവശത്തുകൂടി ചെന്ന് മെഡിറ്റെറേനിയന്‍ സമുദ്രത്തിൽ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു.

10 Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.

൧൦തെക്കുഭാഗം എഫ്രയീമിനും വടക്കുഭാഗം മനശ്ശെക്കും ഉള്ളത്. സമുദ്രം അവരുടെ അതിർ ആകുന്നു;

11 And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Bethshean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.

൧൧അത് വടക്ക് ആശേരിന്റെയും കിഴക്ക് യിസ്സാഖാരിന്റെയും അവകാശഭൂമിയോട് ചേർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. യിസ്സാഖാരിലും ആശേരിലും മനശ്ശെക്കു ബേത്ത്-ശെയാനും അതിന്റെ നഗരങ്ങളും യിബ്ളെയാമും അതിന്റെ നഗരങ്ങളും ദോർനിവാസികളും അതിന്റെ നഗരങ്ങളും ഏൻ-ദോർനിവാസികളും അതിന്റെ നഗരങ്ങളും താനാക്ക് നിവാസികളും അതിന്റെ നഗരങ്ങളും മെഗിദ്ദോനിവാസികളും അതിന്റെ നഗരങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഇവ മൂന്ന് മലമ്പ്രദേശങ്ങൾ ആകുന്നു.

12 Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.

൧൨എന്നാൽ മനശ്ശെയുടെ മക്കൾക്ക് ആ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലെ നിവാസികളെ നീക്കിക്കളവാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; കനാന്യർ ആ ദേശത്ത് തന്നേ പാർത്തു.

13 Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were becoming strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, but did not utterly drive them out.

൧൩എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേൽ മക്കൾ ബലവാന്മാരായി തീർന്നപ്പോൾ അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളയാതെ അവരെക്കൊണ്ട് അടിമവേല ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

14 And the children of Joseph spoke unto Joshua, saying, Why have you given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as the LORD has blessed me until now?

൧൪അനന്തരം യോസേഫിന്റെ മക്കൾ യോശുവയോട്: “യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ച് ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരു വലിയ ജനമായി തീർന്നിരിക്കെ ഒരു നറുക്കും ഓഹരിയും മാത്രം നീ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് തന്നത് എന്ത്?” എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചു.

15 And Joshua answered them, If you be a great people, then get you up to the wood country, and cut down for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for you.

൧൫യോശുവ അവരോട്: “നിങ്ങൾ വലിയൊരു ജനം എങ്കിൽ എഫ്രയീംപർവ്വതം നിങ്ങൾക്ക് വിസ്താരം പോരാത്തതുകൊണ്ട് പെരിസ്യരുടെയും മല്ലന്മാരുടെയും വനപ്രദേശത്ത് ചെന്ന് കാടുവെട്ടി സ്ഥലം എടുത്തു കൊൾവീൻ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

16 And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.

൧൬അപ്പോൾ അവർ: “മലനാട് ഞങ്ങൾക്കു പോരാ; ബേത്ത്-ശെയാനിലും അതിന്റെ നഗരങ്ങളിലും യിസ്രയേൽ താഴ്‌വരയിലും പാർക്കുന്ന കനാന്യർക്ക് ഇരിമ്പുരഥങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

17 And Joshua spoke unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, You are a great people, and have great power: you shall not have one lot only:

൧൭യോശുവ യോസേഫിന്റെ കുലമായ എഫ്രയീമിനോടും മനശ്ശെയോടും പറഞ്ഞത്: “നിങ്ങൾ വലിയോരു ജനം തന്നേ; മഹാശക്തിയും ഉണ്ട്; നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു ഓഹരിമാത്രമല്ല വരേണ്ടത്.

18 But the mountain shall be yours; for it is a wood, and you shall cut it down: and the utmost limit of it shall be yours: for you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.

൧൮മലനാടും നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു; അത് കാടാകുന്നു എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങൾ അത് വെട്ടിത്തെളിക്കേണം അതിന്റെ അതിർത്തിപ്രദേശങ്ങൾ വരെ വെട്ടിത്തെളിച്ച് സ്വന്തമാക്കണം; കനാന്യർ ഇരിമ്പുരഥങ്ങൾ ഉള്ളവരും ബലവാന്മാരും ആകുന്നു എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളയും”.
