Job 1
1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.
ウヅの地にヨブと名くる人あり 其人と爲完全かつ正しくして神を畏れ惡に遠ざかる
2 And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.
その生る者は男の子七人女の子三人
3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.
その所有物は羊七千 駱駝三千 牛五百軛 牝驢馬五百 僕も夥多しくあり 此人は東の人の中にて最も大なる者なり
4 And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
その子等おのおの己の家にて己の日に宴筵を設くる事を爲し その三人の姉妹をも招きて與に食飮せしむ
5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.
その宴筵の日はつる毎にヨブかならず彼らを召よせて潔む 即ち朝はやく興き彼ら一切の數にしたがひて燔祭を獻ぐ 是はヨブ我子ら罪を犯し心を神を忘れたらんも知べからずと謂てなり ヨブの爲ところ常に是のごとし
6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.
或日神の子等きたりてヱホバの前に立つ サタンも來りてその中にあり
7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence come you? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
ヱホバ、サタンに言たまひけるは汝何處より來りしや サタン、ヱホバに應へて言けるは地を行めぐり此彼經あるきて來れり
8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that fears God, and turns away from evil?
ヱホバ、サタンに言たまひけるは汝心をもちひてわが僕ヨブを觀しや 彼のごとく完全かつ正くして神を畏れ惡に遠ざかる人世にあらざるなり
9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Does Job fear God for nothing?
サタン、ヱホバに應へて言けるはヨブあにもとむることなくして神を畏れんや
10 Have not you made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he has on every side? you have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.
汝彼とその家およびその一切の所有物の周圍に藩屏を設けたまふにあらずや 汝かれが手に爲ところを盡く成就せしむるがゆゑにその所有物地に遍ねし
11 But put forth your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.
然ど汝の手を伸て彼の一切の所有物を撃たまへ 然ば必ず汝の面にむかひて汝を詛はん
12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power; only upon himself put not forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
ヱホバ、サタンに言たまひけるは視よ彼の一切の所有物を汝の手に任す 唯かれの身に汝の手をつくる勿れ サタンすなはちヱホバの前よりいでゆけり
13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
或日ヨブの子女等その第一の兄の家にて物食ひ酒飮ゐたる時
14 And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:
使者ヨブの許に來りて言ふ 牛耕しをり牝驢馬その傍に草食をりしに
15 And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell you.
シバ人襲ひて之を奪ひ刄をもて少者を打殺せり 我ただ一人のがれて汝に告んとて來れりと
16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and has burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell you.
彼なほ語ひをる中に又一人きたりて言ふ 神の火天より降りて羊および少者を焚きて滅せり 我ただ一人のがれて汝に告んとて來れりと
17 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell you.
彼なほ語ひをる中に又一人きたりて言ふ カルデヤ人三隊に分れ來て駱駝を襲ひてこれを奪ひ刄をもて少者を打殺せり我ただ一人のがれて汝に告んとて來れりと
18 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
彼なほ語ひをる中に又一人來りて言ふ汝の子女等その第一の兄の家にて物食ひ酒飮みをりしに
19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and stroke the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell you.
荒野の方より大風ふき來て家の四隅を撃ければ夫の若き人々の上に潰れおちて皆しねり 我これを汝に告んとて只一人のがれ來れりと
20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,
是においてヨブ起あがり外衣を裂き髮を斬り地に伏して拜し
21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.
言ふ我裸にて母の胎を出たり 又裸にて彼處に歸らん ヱホバ與へヱホバ取りたまふなり ヱホバの御名は讚べきかな
22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
この事においてヨブは全く罪を犯さず神にむかひて愚なることを言ざりき
