Hosea 12
1 Ephraim feeds on wind, and follows after the east wind: he daily increases lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
エフライムは風をくらひ東風をおひ日々に詐偽と暴逆とを増くはへアツスリヤと契約を結び油をエジプトに餽れり
2 The LORD has also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
ヱホバはユダと争辨をなしたまふヤコブをその途にしたがひて罰しその行爲にしたがひて報いたまふ
3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
ヤコブは胎にゐし時その兄弟の踵をとらへまた己が力をもて神と角力あらそへり
4 Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spoke with us;
かれは天の使と角力あらそひて勝ちなきて之に恩をもとめたり彼はベテルにて神にあへり其處にて神われらに語ひたまへり
5 Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.
これは萬軍の神ヱホバなりヱホバは其記念の名なり
6 Therefore turn you to your God: keep mercy and judgment and wait on your God continually.
然ばなんぢの神にかへり衿恤と公義とをまもり恒になんぢの神を仰ぐべし
7 He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loves to oppress.
彼はカナン人(商賈)なりその手に脆詐の權衡をもち好であざむき取ことをなす
8 And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
エフライムはいふ誠にわれは富る者となれり我は身に財寳をえたり凡てわが労したることの中に罪をうべき不義を見いだす者なかるべし
9 And I that am the LORD your God from the land of Egypt will yet make you to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
我ヱホバはエジプトの國をいでしより以來なんぢらの神なり我いまも尚なんぢを幕屋にすまはせて節会の日のごとくならしめん
10 I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
我もろもろの預言者にかたり又これに益々おほく異象をしめしたり我もろもろの預言者に托して譬喩をまうく
11 Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
ギレアデは不義なる者ならずや彼らは全く虚しかれらはギルガルにて牛を犠牲に献ぐかれらの祭壇は圃の畝につみたる石の如し
12 And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
ヤコブはアラムの野ににげゆけりイスラエルは妻を得んために人に事へ妻を得んために羊を牧へり
13 And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
ヱホバ一人の預言者をもてイスラエルをエジプトより導きいだし一人の預言者をもて之を護りたまへり
14 Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his LORD return unto him.
エフライムは怒を激ふること極てはなはだしその主かれが流しし血をかれが上にとどめその恥辱をかれに歸らせたまはん
