Genesis 34
1 And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.
レアのヤコブに生たる女デナその國の婦女を見んとていでゆきしが
2 And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her.
その國の君主なるヒビ人ハモルの子シケムこれを見て之をひきいれこれと寢てこれを辱しむ
3 And his soul clave unto Dinah the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spoke kindly unto the damsel.
而してその心ふかくヤコブの女デナを戀ひて彼此女を愛しこの女の心をいひなだむ
4 And Shechem spoke unto his father Hamor, saying, Get me this damsel to wife.
斯てシケムその父ハモルに語り此少き女をわが妻に獲よといへり
5 And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come.
ヤコブ彼がその女子デナを汚したることを聞しかどもその子等家畜を牧て野にをりしによりて其かへるまでヤコブ默しゐたり
6 And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him.
シケムの父ハモル、ヤコブの許にいできたりて之と語らふ
7 And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very angry, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter: which thing ought not to be done.
茲にヤコブの子等野より來りしが之を聞しかば其人々憂へかつ甚く怒れり是はシケムがヤコブの女と寢てイスラエルに愚なる事をなしたるに因り是のごとき事はなすべからざる者なればなり
8 And Hamor communed with them, saying, The soul of my son Shechem longs for your daughter: I pray you give her him to wife.
ハモル彼等に語りていひけるはわが子シケム心になんぢの女を戀ふねがはくは彼をシケムにあたへて妻となさしめよ
9 And make all of you marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you.
汝ら我らと婚姻をなし汝らの女を我らにあたへ我らの女汝らに娶れ
10 And all of you shall dwell with us: and the land shall be before you; dwell and trade all of you therein, and get you possessions therein.
かくして汝等われらとともに居るべし地は汝等の前にあり此に住て貿易をなし此にて産業を獲よ
11 And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes, and what all of you shall say unto me I will give.
シケム又デナの父と兄弟等にいひけるは我をして汝等の目のまへに恩を獲せしめよ汝らが我にいふところの者は我あたへん
12 Ask me never so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as all of you shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife.
いかに大なる聘物と禮物を要るも汝らがわれに言ふごとくあたへん唯この女を我にあたへて妻となさしめよ
13 And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister:
ヤコブの子等シケムとその父ハモルに詭りて答へたり即ちシケムがその妹デナを汚したるによりて
14 And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us:
彼等これに語りていひけるは我等この事を爲あたはず割禮をうけざる者にわれらの妹をあたふるあたはず是われらの恥辱なればなり
15 But in this will we consent unto you: If all of you will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised;
然ど斯せば我等汝らに允さん若し汝らの中の男子みな割禮をうけてわれらの如くならば
16 Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people.
我等の女子を汝等にあたへ汝らの女子をわれらに娶り汝らと偕にをりて一の民とならん
17 But if all of you will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone.
汝等もし我等に聽ずして割禮をうけずば我等女子をとりて去べしと
18 And their words pleased Hamor, and Shechem Hamor's son.
彼等の言ハモルとハモルの子シケムの心にかなへり
19 And the young man deferred not to do the thing, because he had delight in Jacob's daughter: and he was more honourable than all the house of his father.
此若き人ヤコブの女を愛するによりて其事をなすを遲せざりき彼はその父の家の中にて最も貴れたる者なり
20 And Hamor and Shechem his son came unto the gate of their city, and communed with the men of their city, saying,
ハモルとその子シケム乃ちその邑の門にいたり邑の人々に語りていひけるは
21 These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters.
是人々は我等と睦し彼等をして此地に住て此に貿易をなさしめよ地は廣くして彼らを容るにたるなり我ら彼らの女を妻にめとり我らの女をかれらに與へん
22 Only herein will the men consent unto us in order to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised.
若唯われらの中の男子みな彼らが割礼をうくるごとく割禮を受なば此人々われらに聽て我等と偕にをり一の民となるべし
23 Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of their's be our's? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us.
然ばかれらの家畜と財産と其諸の畜は我等が所有となるにあらずや只かれらに聽んしからば彼らわれらとともにをるべしと
24 And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city.
邑の門に出入する者みなハモルとその子シケムに聽したがひ邑の門に出入する男子皆割禮を受たり
25 And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males.
斯て三日におよび彼等その痛をおぼゆる時ヤコブの子二人即ちデナの兄弟なるシメオンとレビ各劍をとり往て思よらざる時に邑を襲ひ男子を悉く殺し
26 And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out.
利刄をもてハモルとその子シケムをころしシケムの家よりデナを携へいでたり
27 The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister.
而してヤコブの子等ゆきて其殺されし者を剥ぎ其邑をかすめたり是彼等がその妹を汚したるによりてなり
28 They took their sheep, and their oxen, and their asses, and that which was in the city, and that which was in the field,
またその羊と牛と驢馬およびその邑にある者と野にある者
29 And all their wealth, and all their little ones, and their wives took they captive, and spoiled even all that was in the house.
並にその諸の貨財を奪ひその子女と妻等を悉く擄にし家の中なる物を悉く掠めたり
30 And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, All of you have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house.
ヤコブ、シメオンとレビに言けるは汝等我を累はし我をして此國の人即ちカナン人とベリジ人の中に避嫌れしむ我は數すくなければ彼ら集りて我をせめ我をころさん然ば我とわが家滅さるべし
31 And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot?
彼らいふ彼豈われらの妹を娼妓のごとくしてよからんや
