Ephesians 4
1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, plead to you that all of you walk worthy of the vocation wherewith all of you are called,
Os ruego, pues, yo, el prisionero en el Señor, que caminéis de una manera digna del llamamiento que se os ha hecho,
2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; (agape)
con toda humildad de espíritu y mansedumbre, con longanimidad, sufriéndoos unos a otros con caridad,
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit (pneuma) in the bond of peace.
esforzándoos por guardar la unidad del Espíritu en el vínculo de la paz.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, (pneuma) even as all of you are called in one hope of your calling;
Uno es el cuerpo y uno el Espíritu, y así también una la esperanza de la vocación a que habéis sido llamados;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
uno el Señor, una la fe, uno el bautismo,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
uno el Dios y Padre de todos, el cual es sobre todo, en todo y en todos.
7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Pero a cada uno de nosotros le ha sido dada la gracia en la medida del don de Cristo.
8 Wherefore he says, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
Por esto dice: “Subiendo hacia lo alto llevó a cautivos consigo, y dio dones a los hombres”.
9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
Eso de subir, ¿qué significa sino que ( antes ) bajó a lo que está debajo de la tierra?
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
El que bajó es el mismo que también subió por encima de todos los cielos, para complementarlo todo.
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Y Él a unos constituyó apóstoles, y a otros profetas, y a otros evangelistas, y a otros pastores y doctores,
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
a fin de perfeccionar a los santos para la obra del ministerio, para la edificación del cuerpo de Cristo,
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:
hasta que todos lleguemos a la unidad de la fe y del ( pleno ) conocimiento del Hijo de Dios, al estado de varón perfecto, alcanzando la estatura propia del Cristo total,
14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed back and forth, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
para que ya no seamos niños fluctuantes y llevados a la deriva por todo viento de doctrina, al antojo de la humana malicia, de la astucia que conduce engañosamente al error,
15 But speaking the truth in love, (agape) may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
sino que, andando en la verdad por el amor, en todo crezcamos hacia adentro de Aquel que es la cabeza, Cristo.
16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (agape)
De Él todo el cuerpo, bien trabado y ligado entre sí por todas las coyunturas que se ayudan mutuamente según la actividad propia de cada miembro, recibe su crecimiento para ir edificándose en el amor.
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that all of you henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
Esto, pues, digo y testifico en el Señor, que ya no andéis como andan los gentiles, conforme a la vanidad de su propio sentir,
18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
pues tienen entenebrecido el entendimiento, enajenados de la vida de Dios por la ignorancia que los domina a causa del endurecimiento de su corazón,
19 Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
y habiéndose hecho insensibles ( espiritualmente ) se entregaron a la lascivia, para obrar con avidez toda suerte de impurezas.
20 But all of you have not so learned Christ;
Pero no es así como vosotros habéis aprendido a Cristo,
21 If so be that all of you have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
si es que habéis oído hablar de Él y si de veras se os ha instruido en Él conforme a la verdad que está en Jesús, a saber:
22 That all of you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
que dejando vuestra pasada manera de vivir os desnudéis del hombre viejo, que se corrompe al seguir los deseos del error;
23 And be renewed in the spirit (pneuma) of your mind;
os renovéis en el espíritu de vuestra mente,
24 And that all of you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
y os vistáis del hombre nuevo, creado según Dios en la justicia y santidad de la verdad.
25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
Por esto, despojándoos de la mentira, hablad verdad cada uno con su prójimo, pues somos miembros unos respecto de otros.
26 Be all of you angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
Airaos, sí, mas no pequéis; no se ponga el sol sobre vuestra ira;
27 Neither give place to the devil.
no deis lugar al diablo.
28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs.
El que hurtaba, no hurte más, antes bien trabaje obrando con sus manos lo bueno, para que pueda aun partir con el necesitado.
29 Let no corrupt communication (logos) proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
No salga de vuestra boca ninguna palabra viciosa, sino la que sirva para edificación, de modo que comunique gracia a los que oyen.
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit (pneuma) of God, whereby all of you are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Y no contristéis al Espíritu Santo de Dios, con el cual habéis sido sellados para el día de la redención.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
Toda amargura, enojo, ira, gritería y blasfemia destiérrese de vosotros, y también toda malicia.
32 And be all of you kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.
Sed benignos unos para con otros, compasivos, perdonándoos mutuamente de la misma manera que Dios os ha perdonado a vosotros en Cristo.
