Colossians 1

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timotheus our brother,

Pavel apostelj Jezusa Kristusa po volji Božji, in Timotej brat,

2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Svetim v Kolosah in vernim bratom v Kristusu. Milost vam in mir od Boga očeta našega in Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa!

3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

Zahvaljujemo se Bogu in očetu Gospoda našega Jezusa Kristusa, in molimo vedno za vas, ker smo slišali za vero vašo v Kristusu Jezusu;

4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the (agape) love which all of you have to all the saints,

In za ljubezen do vseh svetih,

5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof all of you heard before in the (logos) word of the truth of the gospel;

Po upanji hranjenem vam v nebesih, za katero ste že slišali v besedi resnice evangela,

6 Which has come unto you, as it is in all the world; and brings forth fruit, as it does also in you, since the day all of you heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

Ki biva med vami, kakor tudi po vsem svetu, in je sadonosen, kakor tudi med vami, od dné, ko ste čuli in spoznali milost Božjo v resnici:

7 As all of you also learned of Epaphras our dear fellow servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ;

Kakor ste se tudi učili od Epafra, ljubljenega sohlapca našega, ki je zvest služabnik Kristusov za vas;

8 Who also declared unto us your (agape) love in the (pneuma) Spirit.

On ki nam je tudi naznanil ljubezen vašo v Duhu.

9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that all of you might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

Zato tudi mi, od dné, ko smo slišali, neprestano molimo za vas in prosimo, da se napolnite sè spoznanjem volje njegove v vsej modrosti in razumnosti duhovni,

10 That all of you might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Da živite pristojno Gospodu v vsem njemu po volji; in sad rodite v vsakem dobrem delu ter se množite v spoznanji Božjem;

11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

V vsej moči krepčani po kreposti slave njegove v vsej stanovitnosti in potrpežljivosti z radostjo;

12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which has made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

Zahvaljujoč se očetu, ki nas je storil sposobne za delež dedščine svetih v luči,

13 Who has delivered us from the power of darkness, and has translated us into the kingdom of his (agape) dear Son:

Kateri nas je rešil iz temé oblasti, in prestavil v kraljestvo sina ljubezni svoje,

14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

V katerem imamo rešenje po krvi njegovi, odpuščenje grehov;

15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Kateri je podoba Boga nevidnega, prvorojenec vse stvaritve;

16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

Ker v njem je bilo vstvarjeno vse, kar je v nebesih in na zemlji, vidno in nevidno, ali prestoli, ali gospostva, ali poglavarstva, ali oblasti: vse je vstvarjeno po njem in zanj;

17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

In on je pred vsem, in vse biva v njem;

18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

In on je glava telesa, občine; kateri je začetek, prvorojenec izmed mrtvih, da bode on med vsemi prvak.

19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell;

Ker vzvidelo se mu je, vanj vseliti vso polnost,

20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

In po njem spraviti vse zanj, pomirivši po krvi križa njegovega, po njem, bodi si kar je na zemlji, bodi si kar je v nebesih.

21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now has he reconciled

Tudi vas, ki ste bili nekdaj otujeni in sovražni po mišljenji v delih hudobnih, spravil je sedaj;

22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and irreproachable in his sight:

V telesu mesa svojega sè smrtjo, da vas naredi svete in brezmadežne in brezgrajne pred seboj;

23 If all of you continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which all of you have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

Ako samo ostanete v veri utrjeni in stanovitni, in se ne ganete od upanja evangelja, katerega ste slišali, oznanovanega po vsej stvaritvi pod nebom, katerega sem jaz Pavel postal služabnik.

24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:

Sedaj se veselim v trpljenji svojem za vas, in napolnjujem pogreške stisek Kristusovih v mesu svojem za telo njegovo, katero je občina;

25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfill the (logos) word of God;

Katere sem jaz postal služabnik po naredbi Božji, dani mi čez vas, da izpolnim besedo Božjo,

26 Even the mystery which has been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: (aiōn g165)

Skrivnost skrito od vekov in od rodov; zdaj pa se je razodela svetim njegovim; (aiōn g165)

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Katerim je hotel Bog naznaniti, katero je bogastvo slave té skrivnosti med pogani, ki je Kristus v vas, upanje slave,

28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

Katerega mi oznanjamo, opominjajoč vsakega človeka, in učeč vsakega človeka v vsej modrosti, da napravimo vsakega človeka popolnega v Kristusu Jezusu;

29 Unto which I also labour, striving according to his working, which works in me mightily.

Za kar se tudi trudim boreč so po kreposti njegovi, delujoči z močjo v meni.
