Acts 27
1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.
Mas como fue determinado que habíamos de navegar para Italia, entregaron a Pablo y algunos otros presos a un centurión, llamado Julio, de la compañía Augusta.
2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
Así que, embarcándonos en la nave Adrumentina, alzamos velas, estando con nosotros Aristarco, Macedonio de Tesalónica, comenzando a navegar junto a los lugares de Asia.
3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously pleaded Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.
Al otro día llegamos a Sidón; y Julio, tratando a Pablo humanamente, le permitió que fuese a los amigos, para ser de ellos asistido.
4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
Y alzando velas desde allí, navegamos bajo de Chipre, porque los vientos eran contrarios.
5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
Y habiendo pasado el mar de Cilicia y Panfilia, arribamos a Mira, ciudad de Licia.
6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.
Y hallando allí el centurión una nave Alejandrina que navegaba a Italia, nos puso en ella.
7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come opposite to Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, opposite to Salmone;
Y navegando muchos días despacio, y habiendo apenas llegado delante de Gnido, no dejándonos el viento, navegamos bajo de Creta, junto a Salmón.
8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh unto which was the city of Lasea.
Y costeándola difícilmente, llegamos a un lugar que llaman Buenos Puertos, cerca del cual estaba la ciudad de Lasea.
9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,
Y pasado mucho tiempo, y siendo ya peligrosa la navegación, porque ya era pasado el ayuno, Pablo amonestaba,
10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
diciendo: Varones, veo que con trabajo y mucho daño, no sólo de la cargazón y de la nave, mas aun de nuestras personas, habrá de ser la navegación.
11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
Pero el centurión creía más al piloto y al patrón de la nave, que a lo que Pablo decía.
12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lies toward the south west and north west.
Y no habiendo puerto cómodo para invernar, muchos acordaron pasar aun de allí, por si pudiesen arribar a Fenice e invernar allí, que es un puerto de Creta, al Africa y al poniente.
13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
Y soplando el austro, pareciéndoles que ya tenían lo que deseaban, alzando velas, tenían cerca la costa de Creta.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
Pero no mucho después dio en ella un viento repentino, que se llama Euroaquilo.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
Y siendo arrebatada de él la nave, que no podía resistir contra el viento, dejada la nave a los vientos, éramos llevados.
16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:
Y llevados de la corriente hacia una pequeña isla que se llama Clauda, apenas pudimos ganar el esquife;
17 Which when they had taken up, they used support cables, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksand, strake sail, and so were driven.
el cual tomado, usaban de remedios, ciñendo la nave; y teniendo temor de que diesen en la Sirte, abajadas las velas, eran así llevados.
18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;
Mas siendo atormentados de una vehemente tempestad, al siguiente día alijaron;
19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the cordage of the ship.
y al tercer día nosotros, con nuestras manos, arrojamos las obras muertas de la nave.
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
Y no apareciendo sol ni estrellas por muchos días, y viniendo una tempestad no pequeña, ya era perdida toda la esperanza de nuestra salud.
21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, all of you should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
Entonces Pablo, como hacía ya mucho que no comíamos, puesto en pie en medio de ellos, dijo: Fuera de cierto conveniente, oh varones, haberme oído, y no partir de Creta, y evitar este inconveniente y daño.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.
Mas ahora os amonesto que tengáis buen ánimo; porque ninguna pérdida de persona habrá de vosotros, sino solamente de la nave.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
Porque esta noche ha estado conmigo el ángel del Dios del cual yo soy, y al cual sirvo,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God has given you all them that sail with you.
diciendo: Pablo, no temas; es necesario que seas presentado delante de César; y he aquí, Dios te ha dado a todos los que navegan contigo.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
Por tanto, oh varones, tened buen ánimo; porque yo confío en Dios que será así como me ha dicho;
26 Nevertheless we must be cast upon a certain island.
con todo, es necesario que demos en una isla.
27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the sailors deemed that they drew near to some country;
Y venida la décimacuarta noche, y siendo llevados en el mar Adriático, los marineros a la media noche sospecharon que estaban cerca de alguna tierra;
28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
y echando la sonda, hallaron veinte pasos, y pasando un poco más adelante, volviendo a echar la sonda, hallaron quince pasos.
29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
Y habiendo temor de dar en lugares escabrosos, echando cuatro anclas de la popa, deseaban que se hiciese de día.
30 And as the sailors were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the bow,
Entonces procurando los marineros huir de la nave, y echando el esquife al mar, aparentando como que querían largar las anclas de proa,
31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, all of you cannot be saved.
Pablo dijo al centurión y a los soldados: Si éstos no se quedan en la nave, vosotros no podéis salvaros.
32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
Entonces los soldados cortaron los cabos del esquife, y lo dejaron caer.
33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take food, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that all of you have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
Cuando comenzó a ser de día, Pablo exhortaba a todos que comiesen, diciendo: Este es el décimocuarto día que esperáis y permanecéis en ayunas, no comiendo nada.
34 Wherefore I pray you to take some food: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
Por tanto, os ruego que comáis por vuestra salud; que ni aun un cabello de la cabeza de ninguno de vosotros perecerá.
35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
Y habiendo dicho esto, tomando el pan, dio gracias a Dios en presencia de todos, y partiendo, comenzó a comer.
36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some food.
Entonces todos teniendo ya mejor ánimo, comieron ellos también.
37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
Y éramos todas las personas en la nave doscientas setenta y seis.
38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
Y satisfechos de comida, aliviaban la nave, echando el grano al mar.
39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
Cuando se hizo de día, no conocían la tierra; pero veían un golfo que tenía orilla, al cual acordaron echar, si pudiesen, la nave.
40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoisted up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.
Alzando las anclas, se dejaron al mar, largando también las ataduras de los gobernalles; y alzada la vela mayor al soplo del aire, íbanse a la orilla.
41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the front part stuck fast, and remained immoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
Pero dando en un lugar de dos aguas, hicieron encallar la nave; y la proa, hincada, estaba sin moverse, y la popa se abría con la fuerza del mar.
42 And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
Entonces el acuerdo de los soldados era que matasen los presos, para que ninguno se fugase nadando.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
Mas el centurión, queriendo salvar a Pablo, estorbó este acuerdo, y mandó que los que pudiesen nadar, se echasen los primeros, y saliesen a tierra;
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
y los demás, parte en tablas, parte en cosas de la nave. Y así aconteció que todos se salvaron saliendo a tierra.
