Acts 27
1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.
In ko je bilo določeno, da naj bi odpluli v Italijo, so Pavla in nekatere druge jetnike izročili nekomu, po imenu Julij, stotniku Avgustove čete.
2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
In ko smo vstopili na ladjo iz Adramítija, smo odrinili ter mislili pluti ob obalah Azije. Z nami je bil neki Aristarh, Makedonec iz Tesaloníke.
3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously pleaded Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.
In naslednjega dne smo pristali v Sidónu. In Julij je s Pavlom človekoljubno ravnal ter mu dal dovoljenje za odhod na kopno k svojim prijateljem, da se okrepi.
4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
In ko smo od tam odpluli, smo jadrali pod Ciprom, ker so bili vetrovi nasprotni.
5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
In ko smo jadrali prek morja Kilikije in Pamfilije, smo prišli v Miro, mesto v Likiji.
6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.
In tam je stotnik našel ladjo iz Aleksandrije, ki je plula v Italijo, in nas vkrcal nanjo.
7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come opposite to Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, opposite to Salmone;
In ko smo mnogo dni počasi jadrali in smo komaj prišli nasproti Knidosa in ker nam veter ni dovoljeval, smo jadrali pod Kreto, nasproti Salmone,
8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh unto which was the city of Lasea.
in ko smo jo komaj prešli, smo prišli v kraj, ki se imenuje Dobri pristani; blizu katerega je bilo mesto Lasája.
9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,
Torej potem ko je bilo porabljenega mnogo časa in ko je bilo torej jadranje nevarno, ker je post sedaj že minil, jih je Pavel opomnil
10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
in jim rekel: »Možje, zaznavam, da bo to potovanje z bolečino in veliko škodo, ne samo za tovor in ladjo, temveč tudi za naša življenja.«
11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
Vendar je stotnik bolj zaupal gospodarju in lastniku ladje kakor tem besedam, ki so bile spregovorjene po Pavlu.
12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lies toward the south west and north west.
In ker pristanišče ni bilo primerno za prezimovanje, je večina svetovala, da tudi od tam odplujejo, če bi na kakršenkoli način lahko dosegli Fojniks in tam prezimili; ki je pristanišče na Kreti in leži proti jugozahodu in severozahodu.
13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
In ko je nežno pihal južni veter, ker so mislili, da so dosegli svoj namen, so od tam dvignili sidro ter jadrali blizu Krete.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
Toda ne dolgo potem se proti njej dvigne viharen veter, imenovan evrakílon.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
In ko je bila ladja ujeta in ni mogla jadrati proti vetru, smo jo pustili peljati.
16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:
In ko je drvela pod nekim otokom, ki je bil imenovan Kavda, smo imeli mnogo dela, da zavarujemo čoln.
17 Which when they had taken up, they used support cables, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksand, strake sail, and so were driven.
Ko so ga dvignili, so uporabili pripomočke ter opasali ladjo in ker so se bali, da ne bi nepričakovano nasedli na sipine, so spustili jadra in tako smo bili gnani.
18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;
In ker nas je vihar silno premetaval, so naslednji dan razbremenili ladjo,
19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the cordage of the ship.
in tretji dan smo z svojimi lastnimi rokami odvrgli ladijsko opremo.
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
In ko se mnogo dni ni pokazalo niti sonce niti zvezde in je na nas pritiskal ne majhen vihar, je bilo odvzeto vsako upanje, da bi bili rešeni.
21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, all of you should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
Toda po dolgi vzdržnosti je Pavel stopil v sredo mednje in rekel: »Možje, morali bi mi prisluhniti in ne odpluti od Krete ter tako ne pridobiti te škode in izgube.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.
In sedaj vas spodbujam, da bodite dobre volje, kajti med vami ne bo nobene izgube kateregakoli človeškega življenja, razen ladje.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
Kajti to noč je poleg mene stal angel Boga, čigar sem in ki mu služim,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God has given you all them that sail with you.
rekoč: ›Ne boj se, Pavel. Priveden moraš biti pred cesarja in glej, Bog ti je podaril vse te, ki jadrajo s teboj.‹
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
In zato, možje, bodite dobre volje, kajti verjamem Bogu, da bo tako, kakor mi je bilo rečeno.
26 Nevertheless we must be cast upon a certain island.
Vendar moramo biti vrženi na nek otok.«
27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the sailors deemed that they drew near to some country;
Toda ko je prišla štirinajsta noč, ko smo bili gnani gor in dol po Adriji, se je okoli polnoči mornarjem zdelo, da so se približali neki deželi.
28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
In izmerili so globino in jo namerili dvajset sežnjev, in ko so se pomaknili malo naprej, so ponovno izmerili in jo namerili petnajst sežnjev.
29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
Potem so, ker so se bali, da ne bi padli na skale, s krme vrgli štiri sidra in hrepeneli po dnevu.
30 And as the sailors were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the bow,
In medtem ko so mornarji nameravali pobegniti z ladje, ko so hoteli čoln spustiti v morje, pod krinko, kot da bodo vrgli sidra tudi iz premca,
31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, all of you cannot be saved.
je Pavel rekel stotniku in vojakom: »Razen če ti ne ostanejo na ladji, vi ne morete biti rešeni.«
32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
Potem so vojaki presekali vrvi čolna in ga pustili pasti.
33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take food, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that all of you have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
In medtem ko je prihajal dan, jih je Pavel vse rotil, naj vzamejo hrano, rekoč: »Danes je štirinajsti dan, ko ste čakali in vztrajali ter se postili, ne da bi kaj vzeli.
34 Wherefore I pray you to take some food: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
Zato vas prosim, da vzamete nekaj hrane, kajti to je za vaše zdravje, kajti nikomur od vas niti las ne bo padel z glave.«
35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
In ko je tako govoril, je vzel kruh in se v prisotnosti vseh zahvalil Bogu; in ko ga je prelomil, je začel jesti.
36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some food.
Potem so bili vsi dobre volje in so tudi sami vzeli nekaj hrane.
37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
Vseh skupaj pa nas je bilo na ladji dvesto šestinsedemdeset duš.
38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
In ko so se dovolj najedli, so razbremenili ladjo in v morje vrgli pšenico.
39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
In ko je bil dan, niso poznali kopnine, toda odkrili so nek zaliv z obalo, v katerega bi radi, če bi bilo mogoče, vrinili ladjo.
40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoisted up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.
In ko so dvignili sidra, so se predali morju ter odvezali krmilne vrvi in dvignili veliko jadro k vetru ter se usmerili proti obali.
41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the front part stuck fast, and remained immoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
In ko je nepričakovano prišla na kraj, kjer sta se stikali dve morji, je ladja nasedla, in sprednji del je trdno obtičal in ostal nepremičen, toda zadnji del je bil zaradi sile valov razbit.
42 And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
In nasvet vojakov je bil, da pobijejo jetnike, da ne bi kateri od njih odplaval in pobegnil.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
Toda stotnik, voljan rešiti Pavla, je preprečil njihov namen in ukazal, naj se tisti, ki lahko plavajo, najprej vržejo v morje in dosežejo kopno,
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
ostali pa, nekateri na deskah in nekateri na ladijskih razbitinah. In tako se je zgodilo, da so se vsi varno rešili na kopno.
