< Acts 27 >

1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.
Yommuu dooniin Iixaaliyaa dhaquun keenya murteeffametti, Phaawulosii fi warri hidhaman biraa ajajaa dhibbaa kan Yuuliyoos jedhamu tokkotti dabarfamanii kennaman; innis miseensa kutaa waraanaa “Awugisxoos” jedhamu tokkoo ture.
2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
Nus doonii Adraamiixoosii kaʼee gara buufatawwan doonii kanneen qarqara galaana biyya Asiyaa dhaquuf kaʼe tokko yaabbannee deemuu jalqabne. Arisxirokoos namichi Maqedooniyaa kan Tasaloniiqee jiraatu tokkos nu wajjin ture.
3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously pleaded Paul, and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself.
Guyyaa itti aanutti Siidoonaatti galle; Yuuliyoosis Phaawulosiif garaa laafee akka inni michoota isaa bira dhaqee waan isa barbaachisu argatu eeyyameef.
4 And when we had launched from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
Nus dooniin achii kaanee waan bubbeen fuula keenya duraan nutti bubbisaa tureef Qophiroosiin daʼannee dabarre.
5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
Erga galaana Kiilqiyaa fi Phamfiliyaa irra dooniin darbinee booddee magaalaa Miiraa kan Luuqiiyaa keessatti argamtu geenye.
6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.
Ajajaan dhibbaa sunis doonii Iskindiriyaa kan Iixaaliyaa dhaquutti jiru tokko achitti argatee nu yaabbachiise.
7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come opposite to Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, opposite to Salmone;
Nus guyyaa hedduu suuta jennee dooniin deemnee rakkinaan naannoo Kiniidoos geenye; yommuu bubbeen karaa sana irra darbuu nu dhowwettis Salmoonee biraan gara daʼoo Qareexitti qajeelle.
8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh unto which was the city of Lasea.
Rakkina guddaadhaanis qarqara galaanichaa irra darbinee iddoo “Buufata doonii gaarii” jedhamu kan magaalaa Laasiyaa biraa tokkotti baane.
9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,
Yeroon dheeraan badeera; sababii yeroon sun erga Soomni darbee taʼeef dooniidhaan karaa deemuun sodaachisaa taʼeera; kanaafuu Phaawulos akkana jedhee isaan akeekkachiise;
10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
“Yaa jarana, ani akka karaan keenya kun badiisa of keessaa qabu, akka inni doonichattii fi miʼa qofatti utuu hin taʼin jireenya keenyatti illee balaa guddaa fiduuf deemu nan arga.”
11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
Ajajaan dhibbaa sun garuu qooda waan Phaawulos jedhe dhagaʼu gorsa ooftuu dooniitii fi gorsa abbaa doonii fudhate.
12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lies toward the south west and north west.
Sababii buufanni doonii sun ganna achi turuuf mijaaʼaa hin taʼiniif baayʼeen isaanii Finiiqeetti galanii ganna achitti dabarsuu abdatanii akka nu ittuma fufnee dooniin deemnu murteessan. Buufanni Qareexi kun fuulli isaa gara kibba dhiʼaattii fi gara kaaba dhiʼaatti deebiʼee ture.
13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
Yeroo bubbeen kibbaa suuta bubbisuu jalqabetti waan kaayyoo isaanii guutachuu dandaʼan seʼanii hiituu doonii hiikanii Qareexi biraan qarqara galaana irra darban.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
Utuu hin turinis bubbeen hamaan, “Awuraaqiis” jedhamu tokko biyya bishaaniin marfamte sana irraa gad bubbise.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
Dooniin sunis bubbeedhaan qabamee gara bubbee sanaatti deemuu dadhabe; kanaafuu akka inni bubbeen fudhatamuuf ittuma dhiifne.
16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:
Nus biyya bishaaniin marfamte xinnoo Qeedaa jedhamtu tokkoon daʼannee rakkina guddaadhaan bidiruu doonichaa oolchuu dandeenye.
17 Which when they had taken up, they used support cables, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksand, strake sail, and so were driven.
Namoonni sunis bidiruu sana dooniitti ol baasanii akka dooniin sun gargar hin diigamneef funyoon xaxanii walitti hidhan. Isaanis tima cirracha Sirtiisitti buʼuu sodaatanii hiituu doonii galaanatti gad buusanii akka dooniin sun bubbeen oofamtuuf ittuma dhiisan.
18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;
Waan bubbeen sun akka malee nutti jabaachaa deemeef isaan guyyaa itti aanutti doonii sana irraa feʼiisa guuranii bishaanitti dadarbachuu jalqaban.
19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the cordage of the ship.
Guyyaa sadaffaatti immoo miʼa doonii sanaa harkuma ofii isaaniitiin dadarbatan.
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
Nu waan utuu aduu yookaan urjii hin argin guyyaa hedduu turree fi waan bubbeen nutti jabaateef dhuma irratti abdii badiisa ooluuf qabnu hunda ni kutanne.
21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, all of you should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
Phaawulosis erga namoonni sun agabuu isaanii yeroo dheeraa turanii booddee gidduu isaanii dhaabatee akkana jedhe; “Yaa jarana, isin utuu gorsa koo dhageessanii Qareexii kaʼuu hin qabdan ture; silaa balaa fi badiisa kana hundumaa irraa of oolchitu turtan.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but of the ship.
Amma garuu ani akka isin jabaattan isinan gorsa; doonicha malee isin keessaa lubbuun nama tokkoo iyyuu hin baduutii.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
Ergamaan Waaqa ani kan isaa taʼee fi isa tajaajilu sanaa tokko eda dhufee na cina dhaabatee,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God has given you all them that sail with you.
‘Yaa Phaawulos, hin sodaatin; ati Qeesaar dura dhaabachuu qabdaatii; kunoo, Waaqni warra si wajjin deemaa jiran hunda gaarummaa isaatiin sitti kenneera’ naan jedhe.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
Kanaaf yaa jarana jabaadhaa! Ani akka wanni kun akkuma natti himame sana taʼu Waaqa nan amanaatii.
26 Nevertheless we must be cast upon a certain island.
Taʼus biyya bishaaniin marfamte tokkotti buʼuun keenya hin oolu.”
27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the sailors deemed that they drew near to some country;
Halkan kudha afuraffaatti utuu galaana Adiriyaa irra asii fi achi oofamaa jirruu gara halkan walakkaatti warri doonii irra hojjetan sun waan gara lafaatti dhiʼaatan seʼan.
28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
Isaan funyoo ittiin gad fageenya galaanaa ilaalan gad buusanii akka galaanni sun meetira soddomii torba gad fagaatu argan; yeroo gabaabaa booddee ammas funyoo sana gad buusanii akka gad fageenyi galaanichaa meetira digdamii saddeet taʼe argan.
29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
Isaanis kattaatti buuna jedhanii sodaatanii hiituu doonii afur dugda duubaan doonii irraa gad buusan. Akka lafti bariituufis kadhatan.
30 And as the sailors were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the bow,
Warri doonii irra hojjetanis bidiruu keessaa baqachuuf jedhanii waan fuula doonii duraan hiituu doonii buusan fakkaatanii bidiruu sana galaana keessa buusan.
31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, all of you cannot be saved.
Phaawulos immoo ajajaa dhibbaatii fi loltootaan, “Yoo namoonni kunneen doonii keessatti hafan malee isin badii ooluu hin dandeessan” jedhe.
32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
Kanaafuu loltoonni sun funyoo bidirichi ittiin hidhamee ture sana irraa kutanii galaanatti gad ishee dhiisan.
33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take food, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that all of you have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
Gara barii lafaattis Phaawulos akka namoonni hundinuu waa nyaataniif isaan kadhate; akkanas jedheen; “Isin bultii kudha afran darban yaaddaʼaa, utuu waa tokko illee hin nyaatin agabuu keessan ooltanii bultaniirtu.
34 Wherefore I pray you to take some food: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
Kanaaf ani akka isin waa nyaattaniif isin kadhadha. Nyaanni jiraachuuf isin barbaachisaatii. Isin keessaa nama kam iyyuu rifeensa mataa isaa keessaa tokko iyyuu hin baduutii.”
35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
Innis erga waan kana dubbatee booddee buddeena fuudhee hunduma isaanii duratti Waaqa galateeffate; kutatees nyaachuu jalqabe.
36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some food.
Isaan hundinuu jajjabaatanii ofumaan waa nyaatan.
37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
Walumatti nu nama 276 taanee doonii sana keessa ture.
38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
Isaanis erga nyaatanii quufanii booddee qamadii feʼamee ture sana galaanatti naqanii akka dooniin salphatu godhan.
39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
Isaanis yommuu lafti bariitetti galoo galaanaa kan kuufama cirrachaa qabu tokko argan malee biyyi fuula isaanii dura jiru sun eessa akka taʼe hin hubanne; doonii sanas yoo isaanii dandaʼame dhiibanii qarqara galaanaatti baasuu murteessan.
40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoisted up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.
Kanaafuu funyoo hiituu doonii kutanii galaana keessatti gad dhiisan; yeruma sana funyoo batoon ittiin hidhame sana hiikan; ergasiis sharaa karaa fuula doonii duraan jiru sana qilleensatti ol fuudhanii gara kuufama cirrachaatti qajeelan.
41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the front part stuck fast, and remained immoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
Garuu dooniin sun iddoo itti galaanni lama wal gaʼutti tima cirrachaatti buʼee lafa tuqe. Mataan isaa achitti qabamee sochoʼuu dide; dudga duubni isaa immoo humna dhaʼaa galaanaatiin dhaʼamee caccabe.
42 And the soldiers' counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
Loltoonnis akka warra hidhaman sana keessaa namni tokko iyyuu bishaan daakee baqatee jalaa hin baaneef isaan ajjeesuuf karoorfatan.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
Garuu ajajaan dhibbaa sun waan Phaawulosin duʼa oolchuu fedheef akka isaan waan karoorfatan sana hin goone dhowwe; innis akka warri bishaan daakuu dandaʼan duraan dursanii doonii irraa utaalanii gara lafaatti baʼan ajaje.
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
Akka warri hafan immoo saanqaa yookaan caccabaa dooniitiin achi gaʼan ajaje; haala kanaan hundi isaanii nagaan lafatti baʼan.
