2 Thessalonians 2
1 Now we plead to you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
Pero, con respecto a la Parusía de nuestro Señor Jesucristo y nuestra común unión a Él, os rogamos, hermanos,
2 That all of you be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, (pneuma) nor by word, (logos) nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
que no os apartéis con ligereza del buen sentir y no os dejéis perturbar, ni por espíritu, ni por palabra, ni por pretendida carta nuestra en el sentido de que el día del Señor ya llega.
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Nadie os engañe en manera alguna, porque primero debe venir la apostasía y hacerse manifiesto el hombre de iniquidad, el hijo de perdición;
4 Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
el adversario, el que se ensalza sobre todo lo que se llama Dios o sagrado, hasta sentarse el mismo en el templo de Dios, ostentándose como si fuera Dios.
5 Remember all of you not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
—¿No os acordáis que estando yo todavía con vosotros os decía estas cosas?—
6 And now all of you know what withholds that he might be revealed in his time.
Y ahora ya sabéis qué es lo que ( le ) detiene para que su manifestación sea a su debido tiempo.
7 For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now lets will let, until he be taken out of the way.
El misterio de la iniquidad ya está obrando ciertamente, solo ( hay ) el que ahora detiene hasta que aparezca de en medio.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit (pneuma) of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Y entonces se hará manifiesto el inicuo, a quien el Señor Jesús matará con el aliento de su boca y destruirá con la manifestación de su Parusía;
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
( aquel inicuo ) cuya aparición es obra de Satanás con todo poder y señales y prodigios de mentira,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love (agape) of the truth, that they might be saved.
y con toda seducción de iniquidad para los que han de perderse en retribución de no haber aceptado para su salvación el amor de la verdad.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
Y por esto Dios les envía poderes de engaño, a fin de que crean la mentira,
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
para que sean juzgados todos aquellos incrédulos a la verdad, los cuales se complacen en la injusticia.
13 But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit (pneuma) and belief of the truth:
Mas nosotros hemos de dar en todo tiempo gracias a Dios por vosotros, hermanos, amados del Señor, por cuanto os ha escogido Dios como primicias para salvación, mediante santificación de espíritu y crédito a la verdad;
14 Unto which he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
a esta os llamó por medio de nuestro Evangelio, para alcanzar la gloria de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.
15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which all of you have been taught, whether by word, (logos) or our epistle.
Así pues, hermanos, estad firmes y guardad las enseñanzas que habéis recibido, ya de palabra, ya por carta nuestra.
16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which has loved us, and has given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, (aiōnios g166)
El mismo Señor nuestro Jesucristo, y Dios nuestro Padre, el cual nos ha amado, y nos ha otorgado por gracia consolación eterna y buena esperanza, (aiōnios g166)
17 Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word (logos) and work.
consuele vuestros corazones y los confirme en toda obra y palabra buena.
