1 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

保祿和息耳瓦諾及弟茂德，致書給在天主父及主耶穌基督內得的得撒洛尼人的教會。祝你們恩寵及平安!

2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

我們常為你們眾人感謝天主，在祈禱常記念你們，不斷地，

3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, (agape) and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

在天主和我們的父前，記念你們因信德所作的工作，因愛德所受的勞苦，因盻我們的主耶穌基督所有的堅忍。

4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.

天主所愛的弟兄們，我們知道你們是蒙召選的，

5 For our gospel came not unto you in word (logos) only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, (pneuma) and in much assurance; as all of you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

因為我們把福音傳到你們那裏，不僅在乎言語，而且也在乎德能和聖神，以及固信心；正如你們也知道，我們為了你們，在你們中是怎麼的人。

6 And all of you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word (logos) in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit. (pneuma)

你們雖在許多困難中，卻懷著聖神的喜接受了聖道，成了效法我們和效法主的人，

7 So that all of you were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.

甚致成了馬其頓和阿哈雅眾信徒的模範。

8 For from you sounded out the word (logos) of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.

因為主的聖由你們那裏，不僅聲聞於馬其頓和阿哈雅，而且你們對天主的信仰也傳了各地，以致不須要我們再說什麼。

9 For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how all of you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

因為有他們傳述我們的事，說我們怎樣來到了你們那裏，你們怎樣離開偶像歸依了天主，為事奉永生的真天主，

10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

並期待衪的聖子自天降下，就是衪使之從死中復活，為救我們脫免那要來的震怒的耶穌。
