1 Thessalonians 1
1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Si Pablo, ug si Silvano, ug si Timoteo,
2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
Sa kanunay nagapasalamat kami sa Dios tungod kaninyong tanan, iniglakip namo kaninyo sa among mga pag-ampo,
3 Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, (agape) and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
nga sa atubangan sa atong Dios ug Amahan kami magahandum sa inyong buhat sa pagtoo ug pangabudlay sa gugma ug sa pagkamainantuson sa paglaum diha sa atong Ginoong Jesu-Cristo.
4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
Kay kami ugod, mga igsoong hinigugma sa Dios, nasayud man nga kamo iyang gipili;
5 For our gospel came not unto you in word (logos) only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, (pneuma) and in much assurance; as all of you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
kay ang among Maayong Balita miabut kaninyo dili sa pulong ra, kondili inubanan usab sa gahum ug sa Espiritu Santo ug sa dakung pagsalig. Kamo nasayud unsang pagkatawhana kami diha sa inyong taliwala tungod kaninyo.
6 And all of you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word (logos) in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit. (pneuma)
Ug kamo nahimong mga mag-aawat kanamo ug sa Ginoo, kay kamo midawat man sa pulong walay sapayan sa dakung mga kasakit, dinuyogan sa kalipay nga tinuga sa Espiritu Santo;
7 So that all of you were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
nga tungod niana kamo nahimong sulondan sa tanang mga magtotoo sa Macedonia ug sa Acaya.
8 For from you sounded out the word (logos) of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.
Kay gikan kaninyo ang pulong sa Ginoo mikaylap dili lamang sa Macedonia ug sa Acaya ra, kondili ang inyong pagtoo sa Dios nadungog sa tanang dapit nga tungod niana wala na kinahanglana nga magsulti pa kamig bisan unsa.
9 For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how all of you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;
Kay sila na gani hinoon mao ang naghinugilon kanamo mahitungod sa kamadaugon sa among pag-anha diha kaninyo, ug giunsa ninyo sa pagdangop sa Dios gikan sa mga diosdios, aron sa pag-alagad sa buhi ug tinuod nga Dios,
10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
ug sa pagpaabut sa iyang Anak gikan sa langit, nga iyang gibanhaw gikan sa mga patay, si Jesus nga mao ang magaluwas kanato gikan sa kapungot nga umalabut.
