Isaiah 60
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of Yhwh is risen upon thee.
Mache dich auf, werde Licht; denn dein Licht kommt, und Jehovahs Herrlichkeit ist aufgegangen über dir.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: But Yhwh shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
Denn siehe, Finsternis bedeckt die Erde, und Dunkel die Volksstämme; aber über dir geht auf Jehovah, und Seine Herrlichkeit erscheint über dir.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
Und Völkerschaften werden zu deinem Lichte wandeln und Könige zum Glanze deines Aufgangs.
4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.
Erhebe ringsum deine Augen, und siehe, sie alle kommen zusammen, sie kommen zu dir, von ferne werden deine Söhne kommen und deine Töchter werden zur Seite von Wärterinnen herbeigetragen.
5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.
Dann wirst du es sehen, und herbeiströmen und schauern wird dein Herz und sich erweitern, denn zu dir wird umkehren des Meeres Menge, und die Streitmacht der Völkerschaften zu dir kommen.
6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of Yhwh.
Bedecken wird dich der Kamele Unzahl, Midjans und Ephahs Dromedare; sie alle kommen von Scheba, Gold und Weihrauch tragen sie und verkünden das Lob Jehovahs.
7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.
Zu dir kommen zusammen alle Herden Kedars, dir sind zu Dienste die Widder Nebajoths und werden zum Wohlgefallen aufsteigen auf Meinem Altar, und verklären will Ich Meines Schmuckes Haus.
8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?
Wer sind diese, die daher wie eine dichte Wolke fliegen, und wie die Tauben zu ihren Fenstern?
9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of Yhwh thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
Denn auf Mich hoffen die Inseln, und zuerst die Schiffe von Tharschisch, zu bringen deine Söhne von ferne, ihr Silber und ihr Gold mit ihnen, dem Namen Jehovahs, deines Gottes, und dem Heiligen Israels; daß Er dich hat verklärt.
10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.
Und die Söhne des Auslandes werden deine Mauern bauen, und ihre Könige dir zu Dienste sein, denn in Meiner Entrüstung habe Ich dich geschlagen, und in Meinem Wohlgefallen deiner Mich erbarmt.
11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.
Und geöffnet sind deine Tore beständig, bei Tag und bei Nacht werden sie nicht geschlossen, damit man zu dir bringe der Völkerschaften Streitmacht, und ihre Könige werden herzugeleitet.
12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.
Denn die Völkerschaften und das Königreich, die dir nicht dienen, vergehen, und verödet werden die Völkerschaften.
13 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.
Die Herrlichkeit des Libanon wird zu dir kommen; Tanne, Kiefer und Buchsbaum allzumal, den Ort Meines Heiligtums zu schmücken, und den Ort Meiner Füße will Ich verherrlichen.
14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of Yhwh, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
Und zu dir kommen niedergebeugt die Söhne derer, die dich niedergedrückt, und sie beugen sich nieder zu den Sohlen deiner Füße, alle, die dich gelästert; und nennen werden sie dich die Stadt Jehovahs, das Zion des Heiligen Israels.
15 Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.
Statt daß du warst verlassen und gehaßt, daß niemand durchging, will Ich dich machen zum ewigen Stolze, zur Freude von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.
16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I Yhwh am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
Und die Milch der Völkerschaften wirst du saugen, und der Könige Brust wirst du saugen, daß du wissest, daß Ich, Jehovah, bin dein Heiland und dein Erlöser, der Gewaltige Jakobs.
17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.
Statt Erzes bringe Ich Gold, und statt Eisens bringe Ich Silber, und statt des Holzes Erz und statt der Steine Eisen, und Ich will zu deiner Obrigkeit Frieden setzten, und zu deinen Fronvögten Gerechtigkeit.
18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.
Nicht wird man mehr in deinem Lande von Gewalttat hören, in deinen Grenzen von Verheerung und vom Zerbrechen, und deine Mauern wirst du nennen Heil und deine Tore Lob.
19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but Yhwh shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
Nicht wird die Sonne mehr bei Tag dir zum Lichte sein, noch zum Glanz der Mond dir scheinen; sondern Jehovah wird dir sein ein ewig Licht, und dein Gott zu deinem Schmuck.
20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for Yhwh shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.
Nicht wird mehr deine Sonne untergehen, und dein Mond sich nicht zurückziehen; denn Jehovah wird dir sein ein Licht der Ewigkeit, und die Tage deiner Trauer sind vollbracht.
21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
Und all dein Volk werden Gerechte sein, ewiglich sollen sie das Land erblich besitzen, ein Reis meiner Pflanzungen sind sie, ein Werk von Meinen Händen, Mich zu verklären.
22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I Yhwh will hasten it in his time.
Der Kleine soll zu Tausend und der Geringe zur zahlreichen Völkerschaft werden. Ich, Jehovah, werde es zu seiner Zeit beschleunigen.
