Luke 8
1 And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of YHWH: and the twelve were with him,
その後間もなく，彼は町々や村々を通って行きながら，宣教し，神の王国の良いたよりを伝えた。彼と共にいたのは十二人，
2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
また，悪い霊たちと病弱さからいやされた何人かの女たちであった。すなわち，七つの悪霊たちが出て行った，マグダレネと呼ばれるマリア，
3 And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.
そしてヘロデの管理人クーザスの妻ヨハンナ，スサンナ，そのほか大勢の女たちである。彼女たちは，自分たちの財産をもって彼らに仕えていた。
4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:
大群衆が集まって来て，人々があらゆる町から彼のもとに来ていた時，彼はたとえを用いて話した。
5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.
「ある耕作人が種をまきに出かけた。種をまいているときのこと，あるものは道ばたに落ち，空の鳥たちがやって来て，それをむさぼり食ってしまった。
6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.
別の種は岩の上に落ちた。そして，すぐに生え出たが，水分がないために枯れ果ててしまった。
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.
別の種はイバラの真ん中に落ち，イバラが生え出てそれをふさいでしまった。
8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
別の種は良い土に落ち，成長して，百倍の実を生み出した」。 これらのことを言いながら，彼は叫んだ，「だれでも聞く耳のある者は聞きなさい！」
9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?
弟子たちは彼に尋ねた，「このたとえはどんな意味なのですか」。
10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of YHWH: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
彼は言った，「あなた方には神の王国の秘密を知ることが与えられているが，残りの者たちにはたとえで与えられる。それは，『彼らが見るには見るが分からず，聞くには聞くが理解しない』ためだ。
11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of YHWH.
さて，このたとえはこういうことだ。種は神の言葉だ。
12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
道ばたのものは，み言葉を聞く人たちだが，そののち悪魔がやって来て，彼らの心からみ言葉を取り去るのだ。
13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
岩の上のものは，こういう人たちのことだ。み言葉を聞くと，喜んですぐに受け入れる。だが，根がないので，しばらくは信じても，誘惑の時には離れてしまう。
14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
イバラの間に落ちたものは，み言葉を聞いた人たちだが，思い煩いや，富や，人生の快楽でふさがれてしまい，実が熟さない。
15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
良い土のものとは，誠実な良い心でみ言葉を聞き，それを堅く守り，忍耐して実を生み出す人たちだ。
16 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.
「ともし火をともしてから，それを器で覆い隠したり，寝台の下に置く者はいない。むしろ，入って来る者たちに光が見えるように，それを燭台の上に置く。
17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
隠されているもので，明らかにされないものはなく，秘密にされているもので，知られず，明るみに出ないものはないからだ。
18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.
それで，自分がどのように聞いているかに注意しなさい。持っている者にはさらに与えられ，持っていない者からは，自分では持っていると思うものまでも取り去られることになるからだ」 。
19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.
彼の母と兄弟たちが彼のもとにやって来たが，群衆のせいでそばに行けなかった。
20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
そこで彼に，「あなたのお母さんと兄弟たちが外に立っていて，あなたに会うことを望んでいます」という知らせがあった。
21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of YHWH, and do it.
しかし彼は彼らに答えた，「わたしの母，またわたしの兄弟たちとは，神の言葉を聞いて，それを行なうこれらの人たちのことだ」 。
22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
ある日のこと，彼は弟子たちと共に舟に乗り込み，彼らに言った，「湖の向こう岸に渡ろう」 。そこで彼らは出航した。
23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
しかし，彼らがこいでいる間に，彼は眠りに落ちた。風あらしが湖に吹き下ろして，彼らは水びたしになり，危険な状態になった。
24 And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
彼らは彼のもとに来て，彼を起こして言った，「師よ，師よ，わたしたちは死んでしまいます！」 彼は起き上がり，風と荒れ狂う水とをしかりつけた。するとそれらはやみ，なぎになった。
25 And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
彼は彼らに言った，「あなた方の信仰はどこにあるのか」 。彼らは恐れ驚いて，互いに言い合った，「いったいこの方はどなただろう。風や水さえも，この方が命じると従うとは」。
26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
彼らは，ガリラヤの向かい側にあるゲラサ人たちの地方に着いた。
27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
イエスが岸に降り立つと，長い間悪霊たちに取りつかれている一人の男が町から出て来て彼に出会った。彼は服を着ておらず，家に住まずに墓場にいた。
28 When he saw Yahushua, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Yahushua, thou Son of Most High Elohim? I beseech thee, torment me not.
イエスを見ると，叫び声を上げて彼の前にひれ伏し，大声で言った，「いと高き神の子イエスよ，わたしはあなたと何のかかわりがあるのか。あなたにお願いする，わたしを苦しめないでくれ！」
29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
というのは，イエスは汚れた霊に，その人から出て行くように命じたからである。汚れた霊はたびたび彼に取りついていたのである。彼は監視の下に置かれ，足かせや鎖で縛られた。だが，かせはばらばらに壊され，彼は悪霊によって寂しい所に追いやられるのであった。
30 And Yahushua asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
イエスは彼に尋ねた，「あなたの名前は何か」 。 彼は言った，「レギオンだ」。多くの悪霊たちが彼の中に入っていたからである。
彼らはイエスに，自分たちを底なしの深みに行けとは命じないように懇願した。 (Abyssos g12)
32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.
ところで，その山ではたくさんの豚の群れが飼われていた。そこで彼らは，それらの中に入ることを認めてくれるように懇願した。彼は彼らに認めた。
33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.
汚れた霊たちはその人から出て来て豚たちの中に入った。それでその群れは，険しい土手を下って湖に突進し，おぼれ死んだ。
34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.
それらを飼っていた者たちは，起きたことを見ると，逃げて行き，その町とその地方でそのことを知らせた。
35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Yahushua, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Yahushua, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
人々は起きたことを見ようと出て来た。イエスのもとに来て，悪霊たちが出て行った男がイエスの足もとに座り，服を着て，正気でいるのを見つけた。それで彼らは恐れた。
36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.
また，それを見ていた者たちは，悪霊たちに取りつかれていた人がどのようにしていやされたかを彼らに告げた。
37 Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.
周囲のゲラサ人たちの地方から来たすべての人々は，自分たちのもとから去るようにとイエスに求めた。非常に恐れていたからである。彼は舟に乗って戻って行った。
38 Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Yahushua sent him away, saying,
しかし悪霊たちが出て行ったその人は，一緒に行かせてくれるようイエスに懇願した。しかしイエスはこう言って彼を去らせた。
39 Return to thine own house, and shew how great things YHWH hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Yahushua had done unto him.
「あなたの家に帰り，神があなたのためにどんな大きな事柄をしてくださったかを知らせなさい」。 彼は立ち去り，イエスが彼のためにどんな大きな事柄を行なったかを町全体で宣明した。
40 And it came to pass, that, when Yahushua was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.
イエスが戻ると，群衆は彼を喜んで迎えた。みんなが彼を待っていたからである。
41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Yahushua ' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house:
見よ，ヤイロスという名の者がやって来たが，この者は会堂長であった。イエスの足もとにひれ伏し，自分の家に入ってくれるよう懇願した。
42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.
というのは，彼には十二歳のひとり娘がいたが，その娘が死にかけていたのである。しかしイエスが進んで行くと，群衆が彼に押し迫った。
43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
十二年間も血の流出をわずらっている女がいた。さまざまな医者のために全財産を使い果たしたが，だれにも直してもらえなかった。
44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
この女が彼の後ろに近づき，その衣の房べりに触った。すると，すぐに彼女の血の流出は止まった。
45 And Yahushua said, Who touched me? When all denied, Kepha and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
イエスは言った，「わたしに触ったのはだれか」 。 みんながそれを否定していると，ペトロや彼と共にいた者たちが言った，「師よ，群衆があなたに迫って押しているのに，『だれが触ったか』 と言われるのですか」。
46 And Yahushua said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
しかしイエスは言った，「だれかがわたしに触ったのだ。力が自分から出て行くのが分かったのだ」 。
47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him and how she was healed immediately.
女は隠れられないのを見ると，おののきながらやって来て，彼の前にひれ伏し，すべての民の面前で，彼に触った理由と，自分がどのようにしてすぐにいやされたかを知らせた。
48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
彼は彼女に言った，「娘よ，元気を出しなさい。あなたの信仰があなたをよくならせた。平安のうちに行きなさい」 。
49 While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
彼がまだ話しているうちに，会堂長の家からある人が来て，会堂長に言った，「あなたの娘さんは亡くなりました。先生を煩わすには及びません」。
50 But when Yahushua heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
しかし，イエスはそれを聞いて，会堂長に答えた，「恐れることはない。ただ信じなさい。そうすれば彼女はいやされる」 。
51 And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Kepha, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
その家にやって来ると，ペトロとヨハネとヤコブ，そして子供の父と母のほかは，だれも中に入ることを許さなかった。
52 And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth.
みんなが泣いたり，彼女のために嘆いたりしていた。しかし彼は言った，「泣かなくてもよい。彼女は死んだのではなく，眠っているのだ」 。
53 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
人々は，彼女が死んでいるのを知っていたので，彼をばかにした。
54 And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise.
しかし彼は，みんなを外に出し，彼女の手を取って，「子供よ，起きなさい！」と呼びかけた。
55 And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
彼女の霊は戻り，彼女はすぐに起き上がった。彼は，彼女に何か食べる物を与えるようにと命じた。
56 And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.
彼女の両親はびっくりした。しかし彼は，起きたことをだれにも告げないよう彼らに命じた。
