James 1
1 James, a servant of YHWH and of the Master Yahushua the Messiah, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
Jakub, sługa Boga i Pana Jezusa Chrystusa, [przesyła] pozdrowienia dwunastu pokoleniom, które są w rozproszeniu.
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Poczytujcie to sobie za największą radość, moi bracia, gdy rozmaite próby przechodzicie;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
Wiedząc, że doświadczenie waszej wiary wyrabia cierpliwość.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Cierpliwość zaś niech dopełni swego dzieła, abyście byli doskonali i zupełni, niemający żadnych braków.
5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of YHWH, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
A jeśli komuś z was brakuje mądrości, niech prosi Boga, który daje wszystkim obficie i bez wypominania, a będzie mu dana.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Ale niech prosi z wiarą, bez powątpiewania. Kto bowiem wątpi, podobny jest do fali morskiej pędzonej przez wiatr i miotanej [tu i tam].
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of YHWH.
Człowiek taki niech nie myśli, że coś otrzyma od Pana.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
Człowiek umysłu dwoistego [jest] niestały we wszystkich swoich drogach.
9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
Niech ubogi brat chlubi się ze swojego wywyższenia;
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
A bogaty ze swego poniżenia, bo przeminie jak kwiat trawy.
11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the favour of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
[Jak] bowiem wzeszło palące słońce, wysuszyło trawę, a kwiat jej opadł i zginęło piękno jego wyglądu, tak też bogaty zmarnieje na swoich drogach.
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which YHWH hath promised to them that love him.
Błogosławiony człowiek, który znosi próbę, bo gdy zostanie wypróbowany, otrzyma koronę życia, którą obiecał Pan tym, którzy go miłują.
13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of YHWH: for YHWH cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
Niech nikt, gdy jest kuszony, nie mówi: Jestem kuszony przez Boga. Bóg bowiem nie może być kuszony do złego ani sam nikogo nie kusi.
14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Lecz każdy jest kuszony przez własną pożądliwość, która go pociąga i nęci.
15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
Następnie pożądliwość, gdy pocznie, rodzi grzech, a grzech, gdy będzie wykonany, rodzi śmierć.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
Nie błądźcie, moi umiłowani bracia!
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Wszelki dar dobry i wszelki dar doskonały pochodzi z góry i zstępuje od Ojca światłości, u którego nie ma zmiany ani cienia zmienności.
18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Ze swojej woli zrodził nas słowem prawdy, abyśmy byli jakby pierwocinami jego stworzeń.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
Tak więc, moi umiłowani bracia, niech każdy człowiek będzie skory do słuchania, nieskory do mówienia [i] nieskory do gniewu.
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of YHWH.
Gniew bowiem człowieka nie wykonuje sprawiedliwości Bożej.
21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Odrzućcie więc wszelką plugawość oraz bezmiar zła i z łagodnością przyjmijcie zaszczepione [w was] słowo, które może zbawić wasze dusze.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Bądźcie więc wykonawcami słowa, a nie tylko słuchaczami, oszukującymi samych siebie.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
Jeśli bowiem ktoś jest słuchaczem słowa, a nie wykonawcą, podobny jest do człowieka, który przygląda się w lustrze swemu naturalnemu obliczu.
24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Bo przyjrzał się sobie, odszedł i zaraz zapomniał, jakim był.
25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Lecz kto wpatruje się w doskonałe prawo wolności i trwa [w nim], nie jest słuchaczem, który zapomina, lecz wykonawcą dzieła, ten będzie błogosławiony w swoim działaniu.
26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
Jeśli ktoś wśród was sądzi, że jest pobożny, a nie powściąga swego języka, lecz oszukuje swe serce, tego pobożność jest próżna.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before YHWH and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
Czysta i nieskalana pobożność u Boga i Ojca polega na tym, aby przychodzić z pomocą sierotom i wdowom w ich utrapieniu [i] zachować samego siebie nieskażonym przez świat.
