Genesis 2
1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
೧ಹೀಗೆ ಭೂಮಿಯು ಆಕಾಶಗಳು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತವೂ ನಿರ್ಮಿತವಾದವು.
2 And on the seventh day Elohim ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
೨ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟು ಏಳನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
3 And Elohim blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Elohim created and made.
೩ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಏಳನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದಿನವಾಗಿರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿದನು.
4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that YHWH Elohim made the earth and the heavens,
೪ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು ಭೂಮಿಯು ಆಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಚರಿತ್ರೆ ಇದೇ.
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for YHWH Elohim had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
೫ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು ಭೂಮ್ಯಾಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ಯಾವ ವಿಧವಾದ ಗಿಡವೂ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾವ ಸಸ್ಯವೂ ಮೊಳೆತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ವ್ಯವಸಾಯ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
೬ಆದರೂ ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ನೀರಿನ ಬುಗ್ಗೆ ಉಕ್ಕಿ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದು ನೆಲವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ತೋಯಿಸುತ್ತಿದವು.
7 And YHWH Elohim formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
೭ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು ನೆಲದ ಮಣ್ಣಿನಿಂದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ಅವನ ಮೂಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನು ಊದಿದನು. ಆಗ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಬದುಕುವ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಯಾದನು.
8 And YHWH Elohim planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
೮ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು ಮೂಡಣ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಏದೆನ್ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಉದ್ಯಾನವನವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ತಾನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ತಂಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
9 And out of the ground made YHWH Elohim to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
೯ಆನಂತರ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ರಮ್ಯವಾಗಿಯೂ, ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ತರಹದ ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ಆ ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಅದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆ ವನದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವದಾಯಕ ವೃಕ್ಷವನ್ನೂ ಒಳ್ಳೇದರ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದರ ಅರಿವನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುವ ವೃಕ್ಷವನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಯಿಸಿದನು.
10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
೧೦ಏದೆನ್ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ನದಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ಆ ವನವನ್ನು ತೋಯಿಸುತ್ತಿತು. ಅದು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಉಪನದಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಕವಲೊಡೆದಿತ್ತು.
11 The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
೧೧ಮೊದಲನೆಯದರ ಹೆಸರು ಪೀಶೋನ್, ಅದು ಬಂಗಾರ ದೊರೆಯುವ ಹವೀಲ ದೇಶವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸುತ್ತಿ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.
12 And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
೧೨ಆ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಬಂಗಾರವು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬದೋಲಖ ಧೂಪವೂ, ಗೋಮೇಧಿಕದ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ರತ್ನವು ಸಿಕ್ಕುತ್ತದೆ.
13 And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
೧೩ಎರಡನೆಯ ನದಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಗೀಹೋನ್, ಅದು ಕೂಷ್ ದೇಶವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸುತ್ತಿ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.
14 And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
೧೪ಮೂರನೆಯ ನದಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಟೈಗ್ರೀಸ್; ಅದು ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ ದೇಶದ ಪೂರ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಹರಿಯುವುದು. ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯದು ಯೂಫ್ರೆಟಿಸ್ ನದಿ.
15 And YHWH Elohim took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
೧೫ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಏದೆನ್ ತೋಟವನ್ನು ವ್ಯವಸಾಯ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಕಾಯುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಿದನು.
16 And YHWH Elohim commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
೧೬ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ತೋಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮರಗಳ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಯಥೇಚ್ಛವಾಗಿ ತಿನ್ನಬಹುದು.
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
೧೭ಒಳ್ಳೇದರ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದರ ಅರಿವನ್ನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುವ ಈ ಮರದ ಹಣ್ಣನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ತಿನ್ನಬಾರದು. ತಿಂದ ದಿನವೇ ಸತ್ತು ಹೋಗುವೆ” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
18 And YHWH Elohim said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
೧೮ಅನಂತರ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು, “ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಒಂಟಿಯಾಗಿರುವುದು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದಲ್ಲ. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಸಹಕಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವೆನು” ಅಂದನು.
19 And out of the ground YHWH Elohim formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
೧೯ಯೆಹೋವನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭೂಜಂತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆಕಾಶದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ನೆಲದ ಮಣ್ಣಿನಿಂದ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ಇವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಏನೇನು ಹೆಸರಿಡುವನೋ ನೋಡೋಣ ಎಂದು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದನು. ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಒಂದೊಂದು ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಯಾವ ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನೋ ಅದೇ ಅವುಗಳ ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು.
20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
೨೦ಹೀಗೆ ಆದಾಮನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಶುಗಳಿಗೂ, ಆಕಾಶದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳಿಗೂ, ಕಾಡುಮೃಗಗಳಿಗೂ ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು. ಆದರೆ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಸಹಕಾರಿ ಸಿಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
21 And YHWH Elohim caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
೨೧ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ದೇವರು ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಗಾಢನಿದ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿ ಅವನ ಪಕ್ಕೆಯ ಎಲುಬುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅದರ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಮಾಂಸದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದನು.
22 And the rib, which YHWH Elohim had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
೨೨ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದ ಎಲುಬನ್ನು, ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು. ಅವನು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ,
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
೨೩“ಈಗ ಸರಿ, ಈಕೆಯು ನನ್ನ ಎಲುಬುಗಳಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಎಲುಬು, ನನ್ನ ಮಾಂಸದಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಮಾಂಸವೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಈಕೆಯು ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಂದ ಉತ್ಪತ್ತಿಯಾದ ಕಾರಣ ನಾರೀ ಎನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಳು” ಅಂದನು.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
೨೪ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಪುರುಷನು ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು. ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರು ಒಂದೇ ಶರೀರವಾಗಿರುವರು.
25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
೨೫ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಬೆತ್ತಲೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
