Deuteronomy 4

1 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which YHWH Elohim of your fathers giveth you.

೧ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೇ ಕೇಳಿರಿ, ನೀವು ಜೀವದಿಂದ ಉಳಿದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿ, ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಲು ನಾನು ಈಗ ಬೋಧಿಸುವ ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸಿ ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಕು.

2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of YHWH your Elohim which I command you.

೨ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನೇ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೇನೆ. ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೇ ಹೊರತು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಯಾವುದನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡಿಸಬಾರದು, ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ಯಾವುದನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆಯಬಾರದು.

3 Your eyes have seen what YHWH did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, YHWH thy Elohim hath destroyed them from among you.

೩ಪೆಗೋರದ ಬಾಳನ ಸಂಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಗಮನಿಸಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಪೆಗೋರದ ಬಾಳನನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರದಂತೆ ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

4 But ye that did cleave unto YHWH your Elohim are alive every one of you this day.

೪ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ನೀವು ನಂಬಿ ನಡೆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀವಾದರೋ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದೀರಿ.

5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as YHWH my Elohim commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

೫ನೀವು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದಂತೆಯೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

೬ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿರಿ. ನೀವು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ನಡೆದರೆ ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳೂ, ವಿವೇಕಿಗಳೂ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಯುವರು. ಅವರು ಈ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, “ಈ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜನಾಂಗವು ಜ್ಞಾನವಿವೇಕವುಳ್ಳ ಜನಾಂಗ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವರು.

7 For what nation is there so great, who hath Elohim so nigh unto them, as YHWH our Elohim is in all things that we call upon him for?

೭ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವಾಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆತನು ಸಮೀಪವಾಗಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲಾ; ಬೇರೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜನಾಂಗಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ಯಾವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಸಮೀಪವಾಗಿರುವನು?

8 And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

೮ನಾನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಡುವ ಇಂಥ ನ್ಯಾಯವಾದ ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಈ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾನವಾದದ್ದು ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ಜನಾಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಉಂಟು?

9 Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;

೯ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಬಹು ಜಾಗರೂಕತೆಯಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರಾಗಿ, ನೀವು ನೋಡಿದ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರವೂ ಮರೆಯದೆ ಜೀವದಿಂದಿರುವ ವರೆಗೂ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗಬೇಕು.

10 Specially the day that thou stoodest before YHWH thy Elohim in Horeb, when YHWH said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

೧೦ಆ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ, ನೀವು ಹೋರೇಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಆತನು ನನಗೆ, “ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಕೂಡಿಸು; ಅವರು ತಾವು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ನನಗೆ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಲಿತುಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ಕಲಿಸಿಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

11 And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

೧೧ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಹತ್ತಿರ ಬಂದು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಬುಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿರಲು ಕತ್ತಲೂ, ಮೋಡವೂ, ಕಾರ್ಗತ್ತಲೂ ಕವಿದು ಆ ಬೆಟ್ಟವು ಆಕಾಶದ ತುದಿಯವರೆಗೂ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಉರಿಯಿತು.

12 And YHWH spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

೧೨ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆ ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನು. ಆತನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಸ್ವರ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಸಿತೇ ಹೊರತು ಯಾವ ಆಕಾರವೂ ಕಾಣಿಸಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲ.

13 And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

೧೩ನೀವು ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆತನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ಹತ್ತು ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿವರಿಸಿ, ಎರಡು ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಲಗೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೆತ್ತಿಸಿದನು.

14 And YHWH commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.

೧೪ನೀವು ನದಿ ದಾಟಿ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀವು ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಬೇಕು.

15 Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that YHWH spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:

೧೫ಹೋರೇಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದಾಗ ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾವ ಆಕಾರವೂ ಕಾಣಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಹು ಜಾಗರೂಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಕಾಪಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

16 Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

೧೬ನೀವು ಸ್ತ್ರೀಪುರುಷರ ರೂಪವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ,

17 The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,

೧೭ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಂಚರಿಸುವ ಮೃಗದ ರೂಪವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರಾಡುವ ಪಕ್ಷಿಯ ರೂಪವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ,

18 The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:

೧೮ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹರಿದಾಡುವ ಕ್ರಿಮಿಕೀಟಗಳ ರೂಪವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಮತ್ತು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಕೆಳಗಣ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೀನಿನ ರೂಪವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ದೇವರ ಸ್ವರೂಪವೆಂದು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಭ್ರಷ್ಟರಾಗಬಾರದು.

19 And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which YHWH thy Elohim hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

೧೯ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬೇರೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದ ಸೂರ್ಯ, ಚಂದ್ರ ಅಥವಾ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಆಕಾಶಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡುವಾಗ, ಮರುಳುಗೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸಲೂ ಬಾರದು ಮತ್ತು ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸಲೂ ಬಾರದು.

20 But YHWH hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

೨೦ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನಾದರೋ ಯೆಹೋವನು ತನಗೆ ಸ್ವಂತ ಜನರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಂಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿ, ಕಬ್ಬಿಣವನ್ನು ಕರಗಿಸುವ ಕುಲುಮೆಯೋಪಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು; ಆ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವು ಈಗ ನೆರವೇರಿತು.

21 Furthermore YHWH was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which YHWH thy Elohim giveth thee for an inheritance:

೨೧ಅದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೆಸೆಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ನಾನು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸ್ವದೇಶವಾಗುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸೇರದೆ,

22 But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.

೨೨ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸಾಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು. ನೀವಾದರೋ ನದಿದಾಟಿ ಆ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿರಿ.

23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of YHWH your Elohim, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which YHWH thy Elohim hath forbidden thee.

೨೩ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾಡಿದ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಯನ್ನು ನೀವು ಮರೆತು, ಪೂಜಿಸಬೇಡಿರೆಂದು ಆತನು ನಿಷೇಧಿಸಿದ ಯಾವ ವಸ್ತುವಿನ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು.

24 For YHWH thy Elohim is a consuming fire, even a jealous El.

೨೪ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ತನಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಬೇಕಾದ ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಗೊಡಿಸದೆ ಉರಿಯುವ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಂತೆ ದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳನ್ನು ದಹಿಸಿಬಿಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯಿರಿ.

25 When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of YHWH thy Elohim, to provoke him to anger:

೨೫ನೀವು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಪಡೆದು ಬಹುಕಾಲ ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಮೇಲೆ ದ್ರೋಹಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಯಾವ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನಾದರೂ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿ,

26 I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

೨೬ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೋಪಗೊಳಿಸಿದರೆ, ನೀವು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯನ್ನು ದಾಟಿ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿಯದೆ, ಬೇಗನೆ ನಾಶವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಭೂಮ್ಯಾಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿಟ್ಟು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನೀವು ಆ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹುದಿನ ಇರದೆ ನಾಶವಾಗಿಯೇ ಹೋಗುವಿರಿ.

27 And YHWH shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither YHWH shall lead you.

೨೭ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚದರಿಸುವನು; ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸುವ ದೇಶಗಳ ಜನರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಜನ ಮಾತ್ರ ಉಳಿಯುವಿರಿ.

28 And there ye shall serve elohim, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

೨೮ನೀವು ಆ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ ಮರದಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ, ಕಲ್ಲಿನಲ್ಲಾಗಲಿ ಕೆತ್ತಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ನೋಡಲಾರದೆ, ಕೇಳಲಾರದೆ, ತಿನ್ನಲಾರದೆ, ವಾಸನೆ ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾರದೆ ಇರುವ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುವವರಾಗುವಿರಿ.

29 But if from thence thou shalt seek YHWH thy Elohim, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

೨೯ಆಗ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದಲಾದರೂ ನೀವು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಹೃದಯದಿಂದಲೂ, ಪೂರ್ಣ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದಲೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿದರೆ ಆತನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವನು.

30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to YHWH thy Elohim, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

೩೦ಮೇಲೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಷ್ಟಗಳು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿ, ನೀವು ಸಂಕಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗ ಅಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಆತನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಆತನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವಿರಿ.

31 (For YHWH thy Elohim is a merciful El; ) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

೩೧ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಕನಿಕರವುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರಾದುದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ವಿನಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಸಂಗಡ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮರೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

32 For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that Elohim created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?

೩೨ದೇವರು, ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರಿಸಿದ ದಿನ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಒಂದು ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ದಿಕ್ಕಿನವರೆಗೂ ಇಂತಹ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ನಡೆದದ್ದುಂಟೋ, ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಇಂತಹ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದುಂಟೋ ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.

33 Did ever people hear the voice of Elohim speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

೩೩ದೇವರು ಬೆಂಕಿಯ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಸ್ವರವು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಸಿತಲ್ಲಾ; ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ಜನರಾದರೂ ದೇವರ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದುಂಟೋ?

34 Or hath Elohim assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that YHWH your Elohim did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

೩೪ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ದೇವರೂ ಮನಪರಿಶೋಧನೆ, ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯ, ಉತ್ಪಾತ, ಯುದ್ಧ, ಭುಜಪರಾಕ್ರಮ, ಶಿಕ್ಷಾಹಸ್ತ, ಮಹಾಭೀತಿ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಯೋಗಿಸಿ, ಒಂದು ಜನಾಂಗವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಜನಾಂಗದ ಕೈಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೇ? ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದರೋ ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಇದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮುಂದೆ ನಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲಾ.

35 Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that YHWH he is Elohim; there is none else beside him.

೩೫ಯೆಹೋವನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ದೇವರು, ಬೇರೆ ದೇವರೇ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ತೋರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

36 Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.

೩೬ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಮತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಮಹಾ ಅಗ್ನಿಜ್ವಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದನು. ಅದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆ ಅಗ್ನಿಜ್ವಾಲೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಆತನು ಆಡಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

37 And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;

೩೭ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ಅವರ ತರುವಾಯ ಅವರ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಾದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು,

38 To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.

೩೮ಈಗ ನಮ್ಮ ಅನುಭವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿಮಗಿಂತ ಮಹಾಬಲಿಷ್ಠವಾದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸಲು ಅವರ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿ, ಆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೇ ಸ್ವದೇಶವಾಗಿ ಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಸಂಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿ, ತಾನೇ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ಅಪಾರ ಸಾಮರ್ಥ್ಯದಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿದನಲ್ಲಾ.

39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that YHWH he is Elohim in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

೩೯ನೀವು ಇದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿ ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಯೆಹೋವನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ದೇವರು, ಬೇರೆ ಯಾವ ದೇವರೂ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂಬುವುದನ್ನು ಈಗ ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಜ್ಞಾಪಕದಲ್ಲಿಡಬೇಕು.

40 Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which YHWH thy Elohim giveth thee, for ever.

೪೦ನಿಮಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಿಗೂ ಶುಭವುಂಟಾಗುವಂತೆಯೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಸದಾಕಾಲ ಬಾಳುವಂತೆಯೂ, ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಈಗ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಆತನ ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕು.

41 Then Moses severed three cities on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

೪೧ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಶೆ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಪೂರ್ವದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಆಶ್ರಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಗೊತ್ತುಮಾಡಿದನು.

42 That the slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbour unawares, and hated him not in times past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:

೪೨ಯಾವ ದ್ವೇಷವೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಕೈತಪ್ಪಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದವನು ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ ಬದುಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ ಎಂದು ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದನು.

43 Namely, Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead, of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, of the Manassites.

೪೩ಅವು ಯಾವುವೆಂದರೆ - ರೂಬೇನ್ಯರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮೀಶೋರ್ ಎಂಬ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಬಯಲು ಸೀಮೆಯ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬೆಚೆರ್; ಗಾದ್ಯರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರಾಮೋತ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಬಾಷಾನಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗೋಲಾನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು.

44 And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel:

೪೪ಮೋಶೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವು ಇದೇ.

45 These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt.

೪೫ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬಂದಾಗ ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿನಿಯಮಗಳು ಇವೇ.

46 On this side Jordan, in the valley over against Bethpeor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come forth out of Egypt:

೪೬ಅವರು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆ ಬೇತ್‍ಪೆಗೋರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿರುವ ಕಣಿವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಷ್ಬೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದರು. ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೀಹೋನನ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೋಶೆಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೂ ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬಂದಾಗ ಆ ಸೀಹೋನನನ್ನು ಜಯಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

47 And they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, which were on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

೪೭ಅವರು ಅವನ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನೂ, ಬಾಷಾನ್ ದೇಶದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಓಗನ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆ ಪೂರ್ವದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಅರಸರ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗೆದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.

48 From Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which is Hermon,

೪೮ಅಂತು ಅರ್ನೋನ್ ತಗ್ಗಿನ ಅಂಚಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅರೋಯೇರ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಹೆರ್ಮೋನ್ ಎಂಬ ಸೀಯೋನ್ ಪರ್ವತದವರೆಗೂ ಮತ್ತು

49 And all the plain on this side Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah.

೪೯ಅರಾಬಾ ಎಂಬ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಿಸ್ಗಾ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಬುಡದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅರಾಬ್ ಸಮುದ್ರದ ವರೆಗೆ ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆ ಇರುವ ಭಾಗವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
