2 Kings 17
1 In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.
೧ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಆಹಾಜನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಹನ್ನೆರಡನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹೋಶೇಯನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾಗಿ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂಭತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು.
2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of YHWH, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.
೨ಹೋಶೇಯನು ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸರಷ್ಟು ಕೆಟ್ಟವನಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲವಾದರೂ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರೋಹಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದನು.
3 Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents.
೩ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಶಲ್ಮನೆಸರನು ಹೋಶೇಯನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಹೋಶೇಯನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನನಾಗಿ ಕಪ್ಪಕೊಡುವವನಾದನು.
4 And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.
೪ಕೆಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಾದ ನಂತರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹೋಶೇಯನು ಪ್ರತಿವರ್ಷವೂ ಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದ ಕಪ್ಪವನ್ನು ಕೊಡದೆಹೋದುದರಿಂದಲೂ, ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೋ ಎಂಬುವವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ರಾಯಭಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ಇವನನ್ನು ದ್ರೋಹಿಯೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಬಂಧಿಸಿ ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟನು.
5 Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
೫ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ದೇಶವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳವರೆಗೂ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿದನು.
6 In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
೬ಹೋಶೇಯನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಒಂಭತ್ತನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದನು. ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಲಹು ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಹಾಬೋರ್ ಹೊಳೆಯಿರುವ ಗೋಜಾನ್ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಮೇದ್ಯರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಇರಿಸಿದನು.
7 For so it was, that the children of Israel had sinned against YHWH their Elohim, which had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharoah king of Egypt, and had feared other elohim,
೭ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಈ ದುರ್ಗತಿಗೆ, ಅವರ ದುರ್ನಡತೆಯೇ ಕಾರಣ. ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಫರೋಹನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿ, ಅವನ ರಾಜ್ಯದಿಂದ ಹೊರತಂದ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡದೆ, ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿ ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿದರು.
8 And walked in the statutes of the heathen, whom YHWH cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they had made.
೮ಯೆಹೋವನು ತಮ್ಮ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ರಾಜರ ದುರಾಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದರು.
9 And the children of Israel did secretly those things that were not right against YHWH their Elohim, and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fenced city.
೯ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾದ ಗುಪ್ತವಾದ ದುಷ್ಟ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾವಲುಗಾರರ ಗೋಪುರವುಳ್ಳ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಊರು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಕೋಟೆಕೊತ್ತಲುಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣದವರೆಗಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಊರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
10 And they set them up images and groves in every high hill, and under every green tree:
೧೦ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದಿನ್ನೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹಸುರು ಮರಗಳ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಕಲ್ಲು ಕಂಬ, ಅಶೇರ ವಿಗ್ರಹಸ್ತಂಭ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
11 And there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the heathen whom YHWH carried away before them; and wrought wicked things to provoke YHWH to anger:
೧೧ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಯೆಹೋವನು ತಮ್ಮ ಎದುರಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿ ಜಡಿಸಿದ ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗಗಳಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಧೂಪವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ಆತನನ್ನು ರೇಗಿಸಿದರು.
12 For they served idols, whereof YHWH had said unto them, Ye shall not do this thing.
೧೨“ನೀವು ಇಂತಹ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬಾರದು” ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದರೂ ಅವರು ಆತನ ಅಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ಅವರು ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿದರು.
13 Yet YHWH testified against Israel, and against Judah, by all the prophets, and by all the seers, saying, Turn ye from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.
೧೩ಯೆಹೋವನು ದರ್ಶಕರೆನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದುರಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೂ, ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಂಥ ನನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಜ್ಞಾನಿಯಮವಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಂಡು ನಡೆಯಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿಸಿದನು.
14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in YHWH their Elohim.
೧೪ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ನಂಬದೆ, ಆತನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಣಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದ ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿರಿಯರಂತೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆ ಹೋದರು.
15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom YHWH had charged them, that they should not do like them.
೧೫ಆತನು ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ವಿಧಿನಿಬಂಧನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ತಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಸಿದ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ, ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸಿ ನಿಷ್ಪ್ರಯೋಜಕರಾದರು. ಸುತ್ತಣ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಬಾರದೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದರೂ ಅವರು ಕೇಳದೆ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದರು.
16 And they left all the commandments of YHWH their Elohim, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made a grove, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served Baal.
೧೬ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮೀರಿ ಎರಡು ಎರಕದ ಬಸವನಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳು, ಅಶೇರ ವಿಗ್ರಹಸ್ತಂಭ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆಕಾಶಸೈನ್ಯ, ಬಾಳ್ ದೇವತೆ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸಿದರು.
17 And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of YHWH, to provoke him to anger.
೧೭ತಮ್ಮ ಗಂಡು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಆಹುತಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀಚಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಾಗಿರುವ ಕಣಿಹೇಳುವುದು, ಮಾಟ ಮಂತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದು ಮೊದಲಾದ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತೊಡಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಕೋಪವನ್ನೆಬ್ಬಿಸಿದರು.
18 Therefore YHWH was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
೧೮ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡುದರಿಂದ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು, ಯೆಹೂದ ಕುಲದವರ ಹೊರತು ಎಲ್ಲ ಕುಲಗಳವರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಿಂದ ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
19 Also Judah kept not the commandments of YHWH their Elohim, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
೧೯ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೂ ಸಹ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದರು.
20 And YHWH rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
೨೦ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಕುಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದಿದ್ದವರನ್ನೂ ಅಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಮಾಡಿ, ತನ್ನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಿಂದ ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಸೂರೆಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಾಧಿಸಿದನು.
21 For he rent Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drave Israel from following YHWH, and made them sin a great sin.
೨೧ಆತನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ದಾವೀದ ಸಂತಾನದವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡ ನಂತರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ನೆಬಾಟನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಅವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಬೀಳಿಸಿ ಮಹಾ ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸಿದನು.
22 For the children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they departed not from them;
೨೨ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನ ದುರ್ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ತೊರೆದು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
23 Until YHWH removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.
೨೩ಯೆಹೋವನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಮುಂತಿಳಿಸಿದಂತೆ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಿಂದ ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಅವರು ಸೆರೆಯವರಾಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಒಯ್ಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ.
24 And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
೨೪ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಒಯ್ದ ನಂತರ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಾಬೆಲ್, ಕೂತಾ, ಅವ್ವಾ, ಹಮಾತ್, ಸೆಫರ್ವಯಿಮ್ ಎಂಬ ಊರುಗಳವರನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅದರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದರು.
25 And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not YHWH: therefore YHWH sent lions among them, which slew some of them.
೨೫ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಸಿಂಹಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದವು.
26 Wherefore they spake to the king of Assyria, saying, The nations which thou hast removed, and placed in the cities of Samaria, know not the manner of the Elohim of the land: therefore he hath sent lions among them, and, behold, they slay them, because they know not the manner of the Elohim of the land.
೨೬ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಆಯಾ ಊರುಗಳ ಜನರು ಆ ದೇಶದ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ನಡೆಯತಕ್ಕ ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಅರಿಯದವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ಸಿಂಹಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
27 Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, Carry thither one of the priests whom ye brought from thence; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the manner of the Elohim of the land.
೨೭ಆಗ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಇಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆಯವರಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಯಾಜಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ. ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಆ ದೇಶದ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ನಡೆಯತಕ್ಕ ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕಲಿಸಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
28 Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear YHWH.
೨೮ಅವರು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಸೆರೆಯವನಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯಾಜಕನನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು. ಇವನು ಬೇತೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸಿದನು.
29 Howbeit every nation made elohim of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities wherein they dwelt.
೨೯ಆದರೂ ಆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವತೆಯ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ತಾವು ವಾಸಿಸುವ ಊರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದವರು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿಸಿ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
30 And the men of Babylon made Succoth-benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
೩೦ಬಾಬೆಲಿನವರು ಸುಕ್ಕೋತ್ಬೆನೋತ್ ನನ್ನೂ, ಕೂತದವರು ನೇರ್ಗೆಲ್ ನನ್ನೂ ಹಮಾತಿನವರು ಅಷೀಮನನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದರು.
31 And the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites burnt their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the elohim of Sepharvaim.
೩೧ಅವ್ವಿಯರು ನಿಭಜ್ ಮತ್ತು ತರ್ತಕ್ ಎಂಬ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಸೆಫರ್ವಯಿಮಿನವರು ಅದ್ರಮ್ಮೆಲೆಕ್, ಅನಮ್ಮೆಲೆಕ್ ಎಂಬ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಲ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಾ ತಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಬಲಿ ಅಗ್ನಿಪ್ರವೇಶ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
32 So they feared YHWH, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
೩೨ಅವರು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಕ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಬಂದವರನ್ನು ಉನ್ನತ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಪೂಜಾಸ್ಥಳದ ಗುಡಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆರಾಧನೆ ನಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
33 They feared YHWH, and served their own elohim, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence.
೩೩ಯೆಹೋವನ ಭಕ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ತಾವು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಬಂದ ದೇಶಗಳ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ತಮ್ಮ ಕುಲದೇವತೆಗಳ ಆರಾಧನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
34 Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not YHWH, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which YHWH commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
೩೪ಅವರು ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ರೂಢಿಯಾದ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯಂತೆ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಲ್ಲ. ಆತನಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರು ಹೊಂದಿದ ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಸಂತಾನದವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು, ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
35 With whom YHWH had made a covenant, and charged them saying, Ye shall not fear other elohim, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:
೩೫ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡಬಾರದು, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೈಮುಗಿಯಲೂ ಬಾರದು, ಆರಾಧಿಸಲೂಬಾರದು, ಯಜ್ಞವನ್ನರ್ಪಿಸಲೂಬಾರದು.
36 But YHWH, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.
೩೬ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮಹಾಶಕ್ತಿ, ಭುಜಬಲಪರಾಕ್ರಮ ಇವುಗಳ ಮೂಲಕವಾಗಿ ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ, ನನಗೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೇ ಕೈಮುಗಿದು ಯಜ್ಞವರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು.
37 And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other elohim.
೩೭ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಬರೆಯಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಆಜ್ಞಾವಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನು ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪದೇ ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ನೀವು ಅನ್ಯ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡಬಾರದು.
38 And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other elohim.
೩೮ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾಡಿದ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮರೆಯದೆ ಇರಬೇಕು. ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸಬಾರದು.
39 But YHWH your Elohim ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
೩೯ಆದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕದಂತೆ ಕಾಪಾಡುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
40 Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner.
೪೦ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಪದ್ಧತಿಗಳನ್ನೇ ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದರು.
41 So these nations feared YHWH, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.
೪೧ಆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳವರು ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆರಾಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಸಂತಾನದವರು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
