Psalms 91
1 HE that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Wer sitzt im Verborgenen des Höchsten, und wer weilt unter dem Schatten von Schaddai,
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Der spricht zu Jehovah: Meine Zuversicht und meine Feste, mein Gott, auf Den ich vertraue.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
Denn vor der Schlinge des Vogelstellers wird Er dich erretten, vor der Pest des Unheils.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Mit Seinem Fittich deckt Er dich, unter Seinem Flügel sollst du deine Zuversicht haben, Schild und Tartsche ist Seine Wahrheit.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nicht darfst du vor dem Schauer der Nacht dich fürchten, noch vor dem Pfeile, der bei Tage fliegt,
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
Vor der Pest, die im Dunkel dahingeht, vor der Seuche, die am Mittag verheert.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Ob dir zur Seite fallen Tausend und Zehntausend zu deiner Rechten; an dich tritt es nicht heran.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Mit deinen Augen nur erblickst du es und siehst die Vergeltung der Ungerechten.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
Denn Du bist meine Zuversicht, Jehovah! - Den Höchsten hast du dir zu deiner Wohnstätte gesetzt.
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
Dir wird nichts Böses widerfahren, und keine Plage deinem Zelt sich nahen.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Denn Seinen Engeln hat Er über dir geboten, daß sie auf allen deinen Wegen dich behüten;
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Daß auf den Händen sie dich tragen, daß du deinen Fuß nicht stoßest an den Stein.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Auf Löwen und auf Ottern wirst du treten, und zerstampfen den jungen Löwen und den Drachen.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
Weil er nach Mir verlangt, werde Ich ihn befreien, in beschützen, weil er Meinen Namen kennt.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
Er rufe Mich an, und Ich antworte ihm, bin mit ihm in der Drangsal, reiße ihn heraus und verherrliche ihn.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Mit Länge der Tage will Ich ihn sättigen, und lasse Mein Heil ihn sehen.
