Psalms 2
1 WHY do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
Warum stürmen die Völkerschaften und sinnen Leeres die Völker?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,
Die Könige der Erde stehen auf, und die Beherrscher ratschlagen miteinander wider Jehovah und wider Seinen Gesalbten:
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
Laßt uns abreißen ihre Bande und von uns werfen ihre Seile!
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Der in den Himmeln wohnt, lacht; der Herr verlacht sie.
5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
Dann redet Er mit ihnen in Seinem Zorn, und macht sie bestürzt in Seinem Entbrennen.
6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
Ich aber habe Meinen König gesalbt auf Zijon, dem Berge Meiner Heiligkeit,
7 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Erzählen will Ich von der Satzung: Jehovah sprach zu Mir, Mein Sohn bist Du, Ich habe heute Dich gezeugt.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Bitte von Mir, so will zum Erbe Ich dir die Völkerschaften, zum Eigentum der Erde Enden geben.
9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
Du sollst sie zerbrechen mit eisernem Zepter, wie des Töpfers Gefäße sie zerschmei-ßen.
10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
Und nun, werdet klug, ihr Könige, laßt euch züchtigen, ihr Richter der Erde.
11 Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Dient Jehovah mit Furcht, und frohlockt Ihm mit Beben.
12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Küsset den Sohn, daß Er nicht zürne und ihr umkommet auf dem Weg! denn über ein Kleines so entbrennt Sein Zorn. Selig sind alle, die auf Ihn sich verlassen.
