Psalms 109

1 HOLD not thy peace, O God of my praise;

Gott meines Lobes, schweig nicht stille!

2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.

Denn der Mund des Ungerechten und der Mund des Truges haben wider mich sich geöffnet, sie reden mit mir mit Zungen der Lüge.

3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.

Und mit des Hasses Worten umgeben sie mich, und streiten ohne Ursache wider mich.

4 For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.

Für meine Liebe sind sie meine Widersacher; ich aber bin im Gebet.

5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

Und sie tun Böses mir, statt Gutes, und Haß für meine Liebe.

6 Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand.

Bestelle einen Ungerechten über ihn, und lasse Satanas ihm zur Rechten stehen.

7 When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin.

Wird er gerichtet, gehe er als Ungerechter hervor und zur Sünde werde ihm sein Gebet!

8 Let his days be few; and let another take his office.

Es sollen seiner Tage wenig sein, sein Amt nehme ein anderer.

9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

Seine Söhne seien Waisen und sein Weib eine Witwe.

10 Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.

Und lasse umherwandern seine Söhne und betteln und nachsuchen aus ihren Verödungen.

11 Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour.

Es umstricke der Gläubiger alles, was er hat, und Fremde rauben seine Arbeit.

12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.

Keiner reiche ihm Barmherzigkeit dar, und keiner sei gnädig seinen Waisen!

13 Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

Seine Nachkommen werden ausgerottet! ihr Name im anderen Geschlecht ausgewischt!

14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the Lord; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

Es müsse seiner Väter Missetat bei Jehovah gedacht und seiner Mutter Sünde nicht ausgewischt werden.

15 Let them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.

Sie sollen beständig vor Jehovah sein, daß ihr Gedächtnis Er ausrotte von der Erde.

16 Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

Weil Er nicht gedachte Barmherzigkeit zu tun, und den elenden Mann und den Dürftigen verfolgte und den, so verzagten Herzens, daß er ihn töte.

17 As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him.

Und er liebte den Fluch, so komme der über ihn; und er hatte keine Lust am Segen, so sei er ferne von ihm!

18 As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones.

Und er ziehe Fluch an, wie sein Obergewand, und er komme in sein Inneres wie Wasser, und wie Öl in seine Gebeine.

19 Let it be unto him as the garment which covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually.

Er sei ihm wie ein Kleid, das ihn umhüllt, und wie eine Umgürtung, die beständig ihn gürtet.

20 Let this be the reward of mine adversaries from the Lord, and of them that speak evil against my soul.

Dies sei die Belohnung meiner Widersacher von Jehovah, und derer, so Böses reden wider meine Seele.

21 But do thou for me, O God the Lord, for thy name’s sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou me.

Und Du, Jehovah, Herr, handle mit mir um Deines Namens willen; denn gut ist Deine Barmherzigkeit, errette mich.

22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

Denn elend bin ich und dürftig, und durchbohrt ist mein Herz in meinem Inneren.

23 I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust.

Wie der Schatten, wenn er sich neigt, gehe ich dahin, wie die Heuschrecke werde ich abgeschüttelt.

24 My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness.

Meine Knie straucheln vom Fasten, und mein Fleisch fällt ab vom Fett.

25 I became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon me they shaked their heads.

Und ich bin ihnen zur Schmach; sie sehen mich und nicken mit dem Kopf.

26 Help me, O Lord my God: O save me according to thy mercy:

Stehe mir bei, Jehovah, mein Gott, rette mich nach Deiner Barmherzigkeit.

27 That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, Lord, hast done it.

Und lasse sie wissen, daß das Deine Hand ist, daß Du, Jehovah, es tust.

28 Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice.

Fluchen sie, so segne Du, stehen sie auf, so lasse sie beschämt werden! Aber Dein Knecht müsse fröhlich sein!

29 Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle.

Meine Widersacher müssen mit Schande angezogen werden, und mit ihrer Scham umhüllt werden wie mit einem Oberkleid.

30 I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude.

Ich will Jehovah sehr danken mit meinem Mund, und in Vieler Mitte will ich Ihn loben.

31 For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.

Denn Er steht dem Dürftigen zur Rechten, ihn zu retten von denen, die seine Seele richten.
