Luke 20
1 AND it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,
E aconteceu num daqueles dias que, estando ele ensinando o povo no templo, e anunciando o evangelho, sobrevieram os principais dos sacerdotes e os escribas com os anciãos,
2 And spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority?
E falaram-lhe, dizendo: Dize-nos, com que autoridade fazes estas coisas? Ou, quem é que te deu esta autoridade?
3 And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:
E, respondendo ele, disse-lhes: também eu vos farei uma pergunta: dizei-me pois:
4 The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?
O batismo de João era do céu ou dos homens?
5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?
E eles arrazoavam entre si, dizendo: Se dissermos: Do céu, ele nos dirá: Então porque o não crestes?
6 But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.
E se dissermos: Dos homens; todo o povo nos apedrejará, pois tem por certo que João era profeta.
7 And they answered, that they could not tell whence it was.
E responderam que não sabiam de onde era.
8 And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
E Jesus lhes disse: Nem tão pouco eu vos digo com que autoridade faço estas coisas.
9 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.
E começou a dizer ao povo esta parábola: Um certo homem plantou uma vinha, e arrendou-a a uns lavradores, e partiu para fora da terra por muito tempo;
10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.
E a seu tempo mandou um servo aos lavradores, para que lhe dessem dos frutos da vinha; mas os lavradores, espancando-o, mandaram-no vazio.
11 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.
E tornou ainda a mandar outro servo; mas eles, espancando também a este, e afrontando-o, mandaram-no vazio.
12 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.
E tornou ainda a mandar terceiro; mas eles, ferindo também a este, o expulsaram.
13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.
E disse o senhor da vinha: Que farei? Mandarei o meu filho amado; talvez que, vendo-o, o respeitem.
14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.
Mas, vendo-o os lavradores, arrazoaram entre si, dizendo: Este é o herdeiro; vinde, matemo-lo, para que a herdade seja nossa.
15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?
E, lançando-o fora da vinha, o mataram. Que lhes fará pois o senhor da vinha?
16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.
Irá, e destruirá estes lavradores, e dará a outros a vinha. E, ouvindo eles isto, disseram: Assim não seja!
17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?
Mas ele, olhando para eles, disse: Que é isto pois que está escrito? A pedra, que os edificadores reprovaram, essa foi feita cabeça da esquina.
18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
Qualquer que cair sobre aquela pedra será quebrantado, e aquele sobre quem ela cair será feito em pedaços.
19 And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
E os principais dos sacerdotes e os escribas procuravam lançar mão dele naquela mesma hora; mas temeram o povo; porque entenderam que contra eles dissera esta parábola.
20 And they watched him, and sent forth spies, which should feign themselves just men, that they might take hold of his words, that so they might deliver him unto the power and authority of the governor.
E, trazendo-o debaixo de olho, mandaram espias, que se fingissem justos, para o apanhar em alguma palavra, e entrega-lo à jurisdição e poder do presidente.
21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:
E perguntaram-lhe, dizendo: Mestre, nós sabemos que falas e ensinas bem e retamente, e que não atentas para a aparência da pessoa, mas ensinas com verdade o caminho de Deus:
22 Is it lawful for us to give tribute unto Cæsar, or no?
É-nos lícito dar tributo a Cesar ou não?
23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said unto them, Why tempt ye me?
E, entendendo ele a sua astúcia, disse-lhes: Porque me tentais?
24 Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Cæsar’s.
Mostrai-me uma moeda. De quem tem a imagem e a inscrição? E, respondendo eles, disseram: De Cesar.
25 And he said unto them, Render therefore unto Cæsar the things which be Cæsar’s, and unto God the things which be God’s.
Disse-lhes então: dai pois a Cesar o que é de Cesar, e a Deus o que é de Deus.
26 And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.
E não puderam apanha-lo em palavra alguma diante do povo; e, maravilhados da sua resposta, calaram-se.
27 Then came to him certain of the Sadducees, which deny that there is any resurrection; and they asked him,
E, chegando-se alguns dos saduceus, que dizem não haver ressurreição, perguntaram-lhe,
28 Saying, Master, Moses wrote unto us, If any man’s brother die, having a wife, and he die without children, that his brother should take his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
Dizendo: Mestre, Moisés escreveu-nos que, se o irmão de algum falecer, tendo mulher, e não deixar filhos, o irmão dele tome a mulher, e suscite posteridade a seu irmão.
29 There were therefore seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and died without children.
Houve pois sete irmãos, e o primeiro tomou mulher, e morreu sem filhos;
30 And the second took her to wife, and he died childless.
E o segundo tomou-a, e também este morreu sem filhos;
31 And the third took her; and in like manner the seven also: and they left no children, and died.
E o terceiro tomou-a, e igualmente também os sete: e morreram, e não deixaram filhos.
32 Last of all the woman died also.
E por último, depois de todos, morreu também a mulher.
33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them is she? for seven had her to wife.
Portanto, na ressurreição, de qual deles será a mulher, pois que os sete a tiveram por mulher?
34 And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: (aiōn g165)
E, respondendo Jesus, disse-lhes: Os filhos deste século casam-se, e dão-se em casamento; (aiōn g165)
35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: (aiōn g165)
Mas os que forem havidos por dignos de alcançar aquele século, e a ressurreição dos mortos, nem hão de casar, nem ser dados em casamento; (aiōn g165)
36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
Porque não podem mais morrer; pois são iguaes aos anjos, e são filhos de Deus, visto que são filhos da ressurreição.
37 Now that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.
E que os mortos hão de resuscitar também o mostrou Moisés junto da sarça, quando chama ao Senhor Deus de Abraão, e Deus de Isaac, e Deus de Jacob.
38 For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.
Ora Deus não é Deus de mortos, porém de vivos; porque para ele vivem todos.
39 Then certain of the scribes answering said, Master, thou hast well said.
E, respondendo alguns dos escribas, disseram: Mestre, disseste bem.
40 And after that they durst not ask him any question at all.
E não ousavam perguntar-lhe mais coisa alguma.
41 And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David’s son?
E ele lhes disse: Como dizem que o Cristo é filho de David?
42 And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
Dizendo o mesmo David no livro dos salmos: Disse o Senhor ao meu Senhor: Assenta-te à minha direita,
43 Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Até que eu ponha os teus inimigos por escabelo de teus pés.
44 David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?
De sorte que David lhe chama Senhor; e como é seu filho?
45 Then in the audience of all the people he said unto his disciples,
E, ouvindo-o todo o povo, disse Jesus aos seus discípulos:
46 Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;
Guardai-vos dos escribas, que querem andar com vestidos compridos; e amam as saudações nas praças, e as principais cadeiras nas sinagogas, e os primeiros lugares nos banquetes;
47 Which devour widows’ houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation.
Que devoram as casas das viúvas, fazendo, como pretexto, largas orações. Estes receberão maior condenação.
