Revelation 9

1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven to the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. (Abyssos g12)

第五の御使ラッパを吹きしに、われ一つの星の天より地に隕ちたるを見たり。この星は底なき坑の鍵を與へられたり。 (Abyssos g12)

2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. (Abyssos g12)

かくて底なき坑を開きたれば、大なる爐の煙のごとき煙、坑より立ちのぼり、日も空も坑の煙にて暗くなれり。 (Abyssos g12)

3 And there came out of the smoke locusts on the earth: and to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

煙の中より蝗 地上に出でて、地の蝎のもてる力のごとき力を與へられ、

4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

地の草すべての青きもの又すべての樹を害ふことなく、ただ額に神の印なき人をのみ害ふことを命ぜられたり。

5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he strikes a man.

されど彼らを殺すことを許されず、五月のあひだ苦しむることを許さる、その苦痛は、蝎に刺されたる苦痛のごとし。

6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

このとき人々、死を求むとも見出さず、死なんと欲すとも死は逃げ去るべし。

7 And the shapes of the locusts were like to horses prepared to battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

かの蝗の形は戰爭の爲に具へたる馬のごとく、頭には金に似たる冠冕の如きものあり、顏は人の顏のごとく、

8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.

之に女の頭髮のごとき頭髮あり、齒は獅子の齒のごとし。

9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

また鐵の胸當のごとき胸當あり、その翼の音は軍車の轟くごとく、多くの馬の戰鬪に馳せゆくが如し。

10 And they had tails like to scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

また蝎のごとき尾ありて之に刺あり、この尾に五月のあひだ人を害ふ力あり。

11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue has his name Apollyon. (Abyssos g12)

この蝗に王あり。底なき所の使にして、名をヘブル語にてアバドンと云ひ、ギリシヤ語にてアポルオンと云ふ。 (Abyssos g12)

12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

第一の禍害すぎ去れり、視よ、此の後なほ二つの禍害きたらん。

13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

第六の御使ラッパを吹きしに、神の前なる金の香壇の四つの角より聲ありて、

14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates.

ラッパを持てる第六の御使に『大なるユウフラテ川の邊に繋がれをる四人の御使を解放て』と言ふを聞けり。

15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men.

かくてその時その日その月その年に至りて、人の三分の一を殺さん爲に備へられたる四人の御使は解放たれたり。

16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them.

騎兵の數は二億なり、我その數を聞けり。

17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

われ幻影にてその馬と之に乘る者とを見しに、彼らは火・煙・硫黄の色したる胸當を著く。馬の頭は獅子の頭のごとくにて、その口よりは火と煙と硫黄と出づ。

18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.

この三つの苦痛、すなはち其の口より出づる火と煙と硫黄とに因りて、人の三分の一 殺されたり。

19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like to serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt.

馬の力はその口とその尾とにあり、その尾は蛇の如くにして頭あり、之をもて人を害ふなり。

20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

これらの苦痛にて殺されざりし殘の人々は、おのが手の業を悔改めずして、なほ惡鬼を拜し、見ること聞くこと歩むこと能はぬ、金・銀・銅・石・木の偶像を拜せり、

21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

又その殺人・咒術・淫行・竊盜を悔改めざりき。
