Judges 17

1 And there was a man of mount Ephraim, whose name was Micah.

Hubo un varón del monte de Efraín, que se llamaba Micaía.

2 And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred shekels of silver that were taken from you, about which you cursed, and spoke of also in my ears, behold, the silver is with me; I took it. And his mother said, Blessed be you of the LORD, my son.

El cual dijo a su madre: Los mil cien siclos de plata que te fueron hurtados, por lo que tú maldecías oyéndolo yo, he aquí que yo tengo este dinero; yo lo había tomado. Entonces la madre dijo: Bendito seas del SEÑOR, hijo mío.

3 And when he had restored the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver to the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it to you.

Y luego que él hubo vuelto a su madre los mil cien siclos de plata, su madre dijo: Yo he dedicado este dinero al SEÑOR de mi mano para ti, hijo mío, para que hagas una imagen de talla o de fundición; ahora, pues, yo te lo devuelvo.

4 Yet he restored the money to his mother; and his mother took two hundred shekels of silver, and gave them to the founder, who made thereof a graven image and a molten image: and they were in the house of Micah.

Mas volviendo él a su madre el dinero, tomó su madre doscientos siclos de plata, y los dio al fundidor; y él le hizo de ellos una imagen de talla y de fundición, la cual fue puesta en casa de Micaía.

5 And the man Micah had an house of gods, and made an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrated one of his sons, who became his priest.

Y tuvo este hombre Micaía burdel de idolatría, y se hizo hacer efod y terafin ( los vasos, vestidos e instrumentos pertenecientes al culto idolátrico ), y consagró uno de sus hijos; y le fue por sacerdote.

6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

En estos días no había rey en Israel; cada uno hacía como mejor le parecía.

7 And there was a young man out of Bethlehemjudah of the family of Judah, who was a Levite, and he sojourned there.

Y había un joven de Belén de Judá, de la tribu de Judá, el cual era levita; y peregrinaba allí.

8 And the man departed out of the city from Bethlehemjudah to sojourn where he could find a place: and he came to mount Ephraim to the house of Micah, as he journeyed.

Este varón se había partido de la ciudad de Belén de Judá, para ir a vivir donde hallase; y llegando al monte de Efraín, vino a casa de Micaía, para de allí hacer su camino.

9 And Micah said to him, From where come you? And he said to him, I am a Levite of Bethlehemjudah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place.

Y Micaía le dijo: ¿De dónde vienes? Y el levita le respondió: Soy de Belén de Judá, y voy a vivir donde hallare.

10 And Micah said to him, Dwell with me, and be to me a father and a priest, and I will give you ten shekels of silver by the year, and a suit of apparel, and your victuals. So the Levite went in.

Entonces Micaía le dijo: Quédate en mi casa, y me serás en lugar de padre y sacerdote; y yo te daré diez siclos de plata por año, y el ordinario de vestidos, y tu comida. Y el levita se quedó.

11 And the Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was to him as one of his sons.

Acordó, pues, el levita en morar con aquel hombre, y él lo tenía como a uno de sus hijos.

12 And Micah consecrated the Levite; and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.

Y Micaía consagró al levita, y aquel joven le servía de sacerdote, y estaba en casa de Micaía.

13 Then said Micah, Now know I that the LORD will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.

Y Micaía dijo: Ahora sé que el SEÑOR me hará bien, pues que el levita es hecho mi sacerdote.
