Psalms 79
1 A Psalm of Asaph. O God, the heathen are come into Thine inheritance; they have defiled Thy holy temple; they have made Jerusalem into heaps.
アサフの歌 神よ、もろもろの異邦人はあなたの嗣業の地を侵し、あなたの聖なる宮をけがし、エルサレムを荒塚としました。
2 They have given the dead bodies of Thy servants to be food unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of Thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.
彼らはあなたのしもべのしかばねを空の鳥に与えてえさとし、あなたの聖徒の肉を地の獣に与え、
3 They have shed their blood like water round about Jerusalem, with none to bury them.
その血をエルサレムのまわりに水のように流し、これを葬る人がありませんでした。
4 We are become a taunt to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.
われらは隣り人にそしられ、まわりの人々に侮られ、あざけられる者となりました。
5 How long, O LORD, wilt Thou be angry for ever? How long will Thy jealousy burn like fire?
主よ、いつまでなのですか。とこしえにお怒りになられるのですか。あなたのねたみは火のように燃えるのですか。
6 Pour out Thy wrath upon the nations that know Thee not, and upon the kingdoms that call not upon Thy name.
どうか、あなたを知らない異邦人と、あなたの名を呼ばない国々の上にあなたの怒りを注いでください。
7 For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his habitation.
彼らはヤコブを滅ぼし、そのすみかを荒したからです。
8 Remember not against us the iniquities of our forefathers; let Thy compassions speedily come to meet us; for we are brought very low.
われらの先祖たちの不義をみこころにとめられず、あわれみをもって、すみやかにわれらを迎えてください。われらは、はなはだしく低くされたからです。
9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the sake of the glory of Thy name; and deliver us, and forgive our sins, for Thy name's sake.
われらの救の神よ、み名の栄光のためにわれらを助け、み名のためにわれらを救い、われらの罪をおゆるしください。
10 Wherefore should the nations say: 'Where is their God?' Let the avenging of Thy servants' blood that is shed be made known among the nations in our sight.
どうして異邦人は言うのでしょう、「彼らの神はどこにいるのか」と。あなたのしもべらの流された血の報いをわれらのまのあたりになして、異邦人に知らせてください。
11 Let the groaning of the prisoner come before Thee; according to the greatness of Thy power set free those that are appointed to death;
捕われ人の嘆きをあなたのみ前にいたらせ、あなたの大いなる力により、死に定められた者を守りながらえさせてください。
12 And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached Thee, O Lord.
主よ、われらの隣り人があなたをそしったそしりを七倍にして彼らのふところに報い返してください。
13 So we that are Thy people and the flock of Thy pasture will give Thee thanks for ever; we will tell of Thy praise to all generations.
そうすれば、あなたの民、あなたの牧の羊は、とこしえにあなたに感謝し、世々あなたをほめたたえるでしょう。
