Psalms 5
1 For the Leader; upon the Nehiloth. A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my (meditation)
Dem Sangmeister, auf Flöten. Ein Psalm Davids.
2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God; for unto Thee do I pray.
Höre, Jahwe, meine Worte, / Merke auf mein Seufzen!
3 O LORD, in the morning shalt Thou hear my voice; in the morning will I order my prayer unto Thee, and will look forward.
Horch auf mein Hilferufen, / Mein König und mein Gott, / Denn ich will zu dir beten!
4 For Thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness; evil shall not sojourn with Thee.
Am Morgen höre, Jahwe, meine Stimme! / Am Morgen richt ich (mein Gebet) zu dir / Und schaue (nach Erhörung) aus.
5 The boasters shall not stand in Thy sight; Thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
Denn nicht ein Gott, dem Böses wohlgefällt, bist du; / Der Frevler darf nicht bei dir weilen.
6 Thou destroyest them that speak falsehood; the LORD abhorreth the man of blood and of deceit.
Nicht dürfen Prahler vor dein Auge treten, / Du hassest alle Übeltäter.
7 But as for me, in the abundance of Thy lovingkindness will I come into Thy house; I will bow down toward Thy holy temple in the fear of Thee.
Du bringst die Lügenredner um; / Wer mit Mord und Tücke umgeht, den verabscheut Jahwe.
8 O LORD, lead me in Thy righteousness because of them that lie in wait for me; make Thy way straight before my face.
Ich aber darf ob deiner reichen Gnade in dein Haus eingehn, / Ich darf vor deinem heilgen Tempel niederknien in deiner Frucht.
9 For there is no sincerity in their mouth; their inward part is a yawning gulf, their throat is an open sepulchre; they make smooth their tongue.
Jahwe, leite mich in deiner Gerechtigkeit um meiner Feinde willen; / Ebne deinen Weg vor mir!
10 Hold them guilty, O God, let them fall by their own counsels; cast them down in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against Thee.
Denn in ihrem Munde ist keine Wahrheit, / Ihr Herz ist voller Frevel. / Ein offenes Grab ist ihre Kehle, / Mit ihrer Zunge schmeicheln sie.
11 So shall all those that take refuge in Thee rejoice, they shall ever shout for joy, and Thou shalt shelter them; let them also that love Thy name exult in Thee.
Laß sie büßen, Elohim, / Daß sie in ihren Plänen scheitern! / Ob ihrer Sünden Menge stoße sie hinweg, / Denn sie sind widerspenstig gegen dich!
12 For Thou dost bless the righteous; O LORD, Thou dost encompass him with favour as with a shield.
Doch freuen laß sich alle, die bei dir Zuflucht suchen; / Auf ewig laß sie jauchzen, da du sie beschirmst! / Frohlocken werden in dir alle, / Die deinen Namen lieben. Denn du, o Jahwe, segnest den Gerechten. / Gleich einem Schild umgibst du ihn mit Huld.
