Psalms 41

1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David. Happy is he that considereth the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.

Au maître de chant. Psaume de David. Heureux celui qui prend souci du pauvre! Au jour du malheur, Yahweh le délivrera.

2 The LORD preserve him, and keep him alive, let him be called happy in the land; and deliver not Thou him unto the greed of his enemies.

Yahweh le gardera et le fera vivre; il sera heureux sur la terre, et tu ne le livreras pas au désir de ses ennemis.

3 The LORD support him upon the bed of illness; mayest Thou turn all his lying down in his sickness.

Yahweh l'assistera sur son lit de douleur; tu retourneras toute sa couche dans sa maladie.

4 As for me, I said: 'O LORD, be gracious unto me; heal my soul; for I have sinned against Thee.'

Moi, je dis: " Yahweh, aie pitié de moi! guéris mon âme, car j'ai péché contre toi! "

5 Mine enemies speak evil of me: 'When shall he die, and his name perish?'

Et mes ennemis profèrent contre moi des malédictions: " Quand mourra-t-il? Quand périra son nom? "

6 And if one come to see me, he speaketh falsehood; his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he speaketh of it.

Si quelqu'un vient me visiter, il ne profère que mensonges; son cœur recueille l'iniquité; quand il s'en va, il parle au dehors.

7 All that hate me whisper together against me, against me do they devise my hurt:

Tous mes ennemis chuchotent ensemble contre moi, contre moi ils méditent le malheur.

8 'An evil thing cleaveth fast unto him; and now that he lieth, he shall rise up no more.'

" Un mal irrémédiable, disent-ils, a fondu sur lui; le voilà couché, il ne se relèvera plus! "

9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

Même l'homme qui était mon ami, qui avait ma confiance et qui mangeait mon pain, lève le talon contre moi.

10 But Thou, O LORD, be gracious unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

Toi, Yahweh, aie pitié de moi et relève-moi, et je leur rendrai ce qu'ils méritent.

11 By this I know that Thou delightest in me, that mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

Je connaîtrai que tu m'aimes, si mon ennemi ne triomphe pas de moi.

12 And as for me, Thou upholdest me because of mine integrity, and settest me before Thy face for ever.

A cause de mon innocence, tu m'as soutenu, et tu m'as établi pour toujours en ta présence.

13 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

Béni soit Yahweh, le Dieu d'Israël, dans les siècles des siècles! Amen! Amen!
