Psalms 127

1 A Song of Ascents; of Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it; except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

ശലോമോന്റെ ആരോഹണഗീതം. യഹോവ വീട് പണിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ, നിർമാതാക്കളുടെ അധ്വാനം വ്യർഥം. യഹോവ പട്ടണം കാക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ, കാവൽക്കാർ ഉണർന്നിരിക്കുന്നതും വ്യർഥംതന്നെ.

2 It is vain for you that ye rise early, and sit up late, ye that eat the bread of toil; so He giveth unto His beloved in sleep.

നിങ്ങൾ അതിരാവിലെ എഴുന്നേൽക്കുന്നതും വൈകി ഉറങ്ങാൻപോകുന്നതും വ്യർഥം, ഉപജീവനാർഥം കഠിനാധ്വാനംചെയ്യുന്നതും വൃഥായത്നം. കാരണം, യഹോവ തനിക്കു പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവർക്ക്, അവർ ഉറങ്ങുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ നൽകുന്നു.

3 Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD; the fruit of the womb is a reward.

മക്കൾ യഹോവയിൽനിന്നുള്ള പൈതൃകാവകാശം. ഉദരഫലം അവിടന്നു നൽകുന്ന പ്രതിഫലവുമാണ്.

4 As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of one's youth.

ഒരാൾക്കു തന്റെ യൗവനത്തിൽ പിറക്കുന്ന മക്കൾ ഒരു യോദ്ധാവിന്റെ കൈയിലെ അസ്ത്രങ്ങൾപോലെയാണ്.

5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them; they shall not be put to shame, when they speak with their enemies in the gate.

അവരെക്കൊണ്ട് തന്റെ ആവനാഴി നിറച്ചിട്ടുള്ള പുരുഷൻ അനുഗൃഹീതൻ. നഗരകവാടത്തിൽവെച്ച് തങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുമായി ഏറ്റുമുട്ടുമ്പോൾ അവർ ലജ്ജിതരാകുകയില്ല.
