Proverbs 5
1 My son, attend unto my wisdom; incline thine ear to my understanding;
Mans bērns, ņem vērā manu gudrību, griez savu ausi pie manas mācības,
2 That thou mayest preserve discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
Ka tu sargi apdomību, un tavas lūpas glabā atzīšanu.
3 For the lips of a strange woman drop honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil;
Jo svešas sievas lūpas pil kā tīrs medus, un viņas mute ir glumāka nekā eļļa;
4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
Bet gals tai ir rūgts kā vērmeles, un ass kā abējās pusēs griezīgs zobens.
Viņas kājas nokāpj nāvē, viņas soļi aizsniedz elli; (Sheol h7585)
6 Lest she should walk the even path of life, her ways wander, but she knoweth it not.
Lai neapdomā dzīvības ceļus, viņas pēdas grozās, ka nezin kur.
7 Now therefore, O ye children, hearken unto me, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
Nu tad, bērni, klausiet man un neatkāpjaties no manas mutes vārdiem.
8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house;
Lai tavs ceļš paliek tālu no viņas, un nenāc tuvu pie viņas nama durvīm,
9 Lest thou give thy vigour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel;
Ka tu nedod svešām savu jaunības spēku un savus gadus tam briesmīgam,
10 Lest strangers be filled with thy strength, and thy labours be in the house of an alien;
Ka sveši nepieēdās no tava spēka, un tavs grūtais pūliņš nenāk svešā namā,
11 And thou moan, when thine end cometh, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
Un tev pēcgalā nav jānopūšas, kad tava āda un miesa diltin nodilusi,
12 And say: 'How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
Un tev nav jāsaka: „Ak, kā es esmu nīdējis pamācīšanu, un mana sirds smējusies par rāšanu,
13 Neither have I hearkened to the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
Un neesmu klausījis sava pamācītāja balsi, un savu ausi neesmu griezis uz tiem, kas mani mācīja!
14 I was well nigh in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.'
Tikko nelaimē vēl neesmu visai(dziļi) iestidzis, pašā draudzes un ļaužu vidū!“
15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
Dzer ūdeni no savas akas, un tekošu ūdeni no sava avota.
16 Let thy springs be dispersed abroad, and courses of water in the streets.
Vai tavi avoti lai iztek laukā, un ūdens upes uz ielām?
17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.
Lai tās tev vien pieder, un nevienam svešam līdz ar tevi.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed; and have joy of the wife of thy youth.
Tavs avots lai ir svētīts, un tu priecājies par savas jaunības sievu.
19 A lovely hind and a graceful doe, let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; with her love be thou ravished always.
Ak kāda tā mīlīga, kā stirna, un daiļa, kā kalnu kaza! Pie viņas krūtīm pieglaudies allažiņ un ar viņas mīlestību ielīksmojies vienmēr!
20 Why then wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of an alien?
Un kādēļ tu, mans bērns, ar citu gribi jaukties un svešas sievietes krūtis apkampt!
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and He maketh even all his paths.
Jo cilvēka ceļi stāv priekš Tā Kunga acīm, un Tas sver visus viņa soļus.
22 His own iniquities shall ensnare the wicked, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sin.
Bezdievīgo gūstīs viņa paša noziegumi, un ar savu grēku saitēm viņš taps saistīts.
23 He shall die for lack of instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall reel.
Bez pamācīšanas palicis, viņš nomirs, un savā lielā ģeķībā viņš gāzīsies.
