Numbers 8

1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ:

2 'Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him: When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the candlestick.'

“ಆರೋನನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು, ‘ನೀನು ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚುವಾಗ ಆ ಏಳು ದೀಪಗಳೂ ದೀಪಸ್ತಂಭದ ಎದುರಿಗಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.”

3 And Aaron did so: he lighted the lamps thereof so as to give light in front of the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.

ಆರೋನನು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿ, ದೀಪಸ್ತಂಭದ ಎದುರಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಳಕುಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ಅದರ ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಹಚ್ಚಿದನು.

4 And this was the work of the candlestick, beaten work of gold; unto the base thereof, and unto the flowers thereof, it was beaten work; according unto the pattern which the LORD had shown Moses, so he made the candlestick.

ದೀಪಸ್ತಂಭವೂ ಅದರ ಬುಡಭಾಗವೂ, ಪುಷ್ಪಾಲಂಕಾರಗಳೂ ಬಂಗಾರದ ನಕಾಸಿ ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದ ಮಾದರಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದನು.

5 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ,

6 'Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

“ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಳಗಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಿ ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡು.

7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of purification upon them, and let them cause a razor to pass over all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.

ಅವರನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ ಶುದ್ಧೀಮಾಡುವ ನೀರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಚಿಮುಕಿಸು. ಅವರು ಸರ್ವಾಂಗ ಕ್ಷೌರ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಒಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ. ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವೇ ಶುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

8 Then let them take a young bullock, and its meal-offering, fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin-offering.

ಅವರು ದಹನಬಲಿಗಾಗಿ ಒಂದು ಎಳೆಯ ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು, ಅದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಧಾನ್ಯ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆಗಾಗಿ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಬೆರೆಸಿದ ನಯವಾದ ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ದೋಷಪರಿಹಾರಕ ಬಲಿಗಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನೂ ನೀನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೋ.

9 And thou shalt present the Levites before the tent of meeting; and thou shalt assemble the whole congregation of the children of Israel.

ಆಗ ನೀನು ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನು ದೇವದರ್ಶನದ ಗುಡಾರದ ಮುಂದೆ ಕರೆತಂದು, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸಮೂಹವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಬೇಕು.

10 And thou shalt present the Levites before the LORD; and the children of Israel shall lay their hands upon the Levites.

ನೀನು ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕರೆತಂದಾಗ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಲೇವಿಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡಬೇಕು.

11 And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for a wave-offering from the children of Israel, that they may be to do the service of the LORD.

ಲೇವಿಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿದ್ಧರಾಗುವಂತೆ ಆರೋನನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೈವೇದ್ಯದಂತೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು.

12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks; and offer thou the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, unto the LORD, to make atonement for the Levites.

“ಲೇವಿಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಆ ಹೋರಿಗಳ ತಲೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಡಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ನೀನು ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ದೋಷಪರಿಹಾರಕ ಬಲಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ದಹನಬಲಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು.

13 And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for a wave-offering unto the LORD.

ತರುವಾಯ ನೀನು ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನು ಆರೋನನ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಅವನ ಪುತ್ರರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ಅವರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ನೈವೇದ್ಯದಂತೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು.

14 Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be Mine.

ಹೀಗೆ ನೀನು ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಬೇಕು, ಆಗ ಲೇವಿಯರು ನನ್ನವರಾಗುವರು.

15 And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tent of meeting; and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for a wave-offering.

“ಅದರ ತರುವಾಯ ಲೇವಿಯರು ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡವುದಕ್ಕೆ ದೇವದರ್ಶನದ ಗುಡಾರದೊಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವರು. ಆಗ ನೀನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧೀಮಾಡಿ, ನೈವೇದ್ಯದಂತೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು.

16 For they are wholly given unto Me from among the children of Israel; instead of all that openeth the womb, even the first-born of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto Me.

ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸಮರ್ಪಿತರಾದವರು. ಚೊಚ್ಚಲು ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ, ಅಂದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಜೇಷ್ಠಪುತ್ರರಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನೇ ನನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

17 For all the first-born among the children of Israel are Mine, both man and beast; on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for Myself.

ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಾದರೂ ಪಶುಗಳಾದರೂ ಜೇಷ್ಠರಾದದ್ದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನನ್ನದೇ. ನಾನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲಾದದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿ ಚೊಚ್ಚಲಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೆನು.

18 And I have taken the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel.

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜೇಷ್ಠಪುತ್ರರಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನು ನಾನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡೆನು.

19 And I have given the Levites — they are given to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, that there be no plague among the children of Israel, through the children of Israel coming nigh unto the sanctuary.'

ಅವರು ದೇವದರ್ಶನದ ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಸಮೀಪಿಸುವಾಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಳಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯು ಇರದಂತೆ ನಾನು ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಆರೋನನಿಗೂ, ಅವನ ಪುತ್ರರಿಗೂ ದಾನವಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ.”

20 Thus did Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the Levites; according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses touching the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.

ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಲೇವಿಯರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದಂತೆಯೇ ಮೋಶೆಯೂ ಆರೋನನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸಮೂಹದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

21 And the Levites purified themselves, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them for a sacred gift before the LORD; and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.

ಲೇವಿಯರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಿಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು, ತಮ್ಮ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳೆದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಆರೋನನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನೈವೇದ್ಯದಂತೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಶುದ್ಧರಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಆರೋನನು ಅವರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರಾಯಶ್ಚಿತ್ತ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

22 And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tent of meeting before Aaron, and before his sons; as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.

ತರುವಾಯ ಲೇವಿಯರು ದೇವದರ್ಶನದ ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರೋನನ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ, ಅವನ ಪುತ್ರರ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಅವರ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದರು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಲೇವಿಯರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದರೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

23 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ,

24 'This is that which pertaineth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to perform the service in the work of the tent of meeting;

“ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟದ್ದು ಇದಾಗಿದೆ: ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೈದು ವರ್ಷವೂ, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೇಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಾಯವುಳ್ಳವರೂ ದೇವದರ್ಶನದ ಗುಡಾರದ ಸೇವೆಗಾಗಿ ಒಳಗೆ ಸೇರಬೇಕು.

25 and from the age of fifty years they shall return from the service of the work, and shall serve no more;

ಆದರೆ ಐವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷದವರಾದ ನಂತರ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಿವೃತ್ತರಾಗಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ತದನಂತರ ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡಬಾರದು.

26 but shall minister with their brethren in the tent of meeting, to keep the charge, but they shall do no manner of service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charges.'

ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ದೇವದರ್ಶನದ ಗುಡಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡಲಿ, ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ತಾವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು. ಈ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನೀನು ಲೇವಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಬೇಕು,” ಎಂಬುದು.
