Aionian Verses
And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said: 'Nay, but I will go down to the grave to my son mourning.' And his father wept for him. (Sheol )
And he said: 'My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he only is left; if harm befall him by the way in which ye go, then will ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. (Sheol )
and if ye take this one also from me, and harm befall him, ye will bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. (Sheol )
it will come to pass, when he seeth that the lad is not with us, that he will die; and thy servants will bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave. (Sheol )
But if the LORD make a new thing, and the ground open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down alive into the pit, then ye shall understand that these men have despised the LORD.' (Sheol )
So they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit; and the earth closed upon them, and they perished from among the assembly. (Sheol )
For a fire is kindled in My nostril, and burneth unto the depths of the nether-world, and devoureth the earth with her produce, and setteth ablaze the foundations of the mountains. (Sheol )
The LORD killeth, and maketh alive; He bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. (Sheol )
The cords of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of Death confronted me. (Sheol )
Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace. (Sheol )
Now therefore hold him not guiltless, for thou art a wise man; and thou wilt know what thou oughtest to do unto him, and thou shalt bring his hoar head down to the grave with blood.' (Sheol )
As the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away, so he that goeth down to the grave shall come up no more. (Sheol )
It is high as heaven; what canst thou do? Deeper than the nether-world; what canst thou know? (Sheol )
Oh that Thou wouldest hide me in the nether-world, that Thou wouldest keep me secret, until Thy wrath be past, that Thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! — (Sheol )
If I look for the nether-world as my house; if I have spread my couch in the darkness; (Sheol )
They shall go down to the bars of the nether-world, when we are at rest together in the dust. (Sheol )
They spend their days in prosperity, and peacefully they go down to the grave. (Sheol )
Drought and heat consume the snow waters; so doth the nether-world those that have sinned. (Sheol )
The nether-world is naked before Him, and Destruction hath no covering. (Sheol )
For in death there is no remembrance of Thee; in the nether-world who will give Thee thanks? (Sheol )
The wicked shall return to the nether-world, even all the nations that forget God. (Sheol )
For Thou wilt not abandon my soul to the nether-world; neither wilt Thou suffer Thy godly one to see the pit. (Sheol )

Like sheep they are appointed for the nether-world; death shall be their shepherd; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their form shall be for the nether-world to wear away, that there be no habitation for it. (Sheol )
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the nether-world; for He shall receive me. (Selah) (Sheol )
May He incite death against them, let them go down alive into the nether-world; for evil is in their dwelling, and within them. (Sheol )
For great is Thy mercy toward me; and Thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest nether-world. (Sheol )
For my soul is sated with troubles, and my life draweth nigh unto the grave. (Sheol )
What man is he that liveth and shall not see death, that shall deliver his soul from the power of the grave? (Selah) (Sheol )
The cords of death compassed me, and the straits of the nether-world got hold upon me; I found trouble and sorrow. (Sheol )
If I ascend up into heaven, Thou art there; if I make my bed in the nether-world, behold, Thou art there. (Sheol )
As when one cleaveth and breaketh up the earth, our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth. (Sheol )
Let us swallow them up alive as the grave, and whole, as those that go down into the pit; (Sheol )
Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on the nether-world; (Sheol )
Her house is the way to the nether-world, going down to the chambers of death. (Sheol )
But he knoweth not that the shades are there; that her guests are in the depths of the nether-world. (Sheol )
The nether-world and Destruction are before the LORD; how much more then the hearts of the children of men! (Sheol )
The path of life goeth upward for the wise, that he may depart from the nether-world beneath. (Sheol )
Thou beatest him with the rod, and wilt deliver his soul from the nether-world. (Sheol )
The nether-world and Destruction are never satiated; so the eyes of man are never satiated. (Sheol )
The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not satisfied with water; and the fire that saith not: 'Enough.' (Sheol )
Whatsoever thy hand attaineth to do by thy strength, that do; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. (Sheol )
Set me as a seal upon thy heart, as a seal upon thine arm; for love is strong as death, jealousy is cruel as the grave; the flashes thereof are flashes of fire, a very flame of the LORD. (Sheol )
Therefore the nether-world hath enlarged her desire, and opened her mouth without measure; and down goeth their glory, and their tumult, and their uproar, and he that rejoiceth among them. (Sheol )
'Ask thee a sign of the LORD thy God: ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.' (Sheol )
The nether-world from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming; the shades are stirred up for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; all the kings of the nations are raised up from their thrones. (Sheol )
Thy pomp is brought down to the nether-world, and the noise of thy psalteries; the maggot is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.' (Sheol )
Yet thou shalt be brought down to the nether-world, to the uttermost parts of the pit. (Sheol )
Because ye have said: 'We have made a covenant with death, and with the nether-world are we at agreement; when the scouring scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us; for we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood have we hid ourselves'; (Sheol )
And your covenant with death shall be disannulled and your agreement with the nether-world shall not stand; when the scouring scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it, (Sheol )
I said: In the noontide of my days I shall go, even to the gates of the nether-world; I am deprived of the residue of my years. (Sheol )
For the nether-world cannot praise Thee, death cannot celebrate Thee; they that go down into the pit cannot hope for Thy truth. (Sheol )
And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thine ambassadors far off, even down to the nether-world. (Sheol )
Thus saith the Lord GOD: In the day when he went down to the nether-world I caused the deep to mourn and cover itself for him, and I restrained the rivers thereof, and the great waters were stayed; and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him. (Sheol )
I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to the nether-world with them that descend into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the nether parts of the earth. (Sheol )
They also went down into the nether-world with him unto them that are slain by the sword; yea, they that were in his arm, that dwelt under his shadow in the midst of the nations. (Sheol )
The strong among the mighty shall speak of him out of the midst of the nether-world with them that helped him; they are gone down, they lie still, even the uncircumcised, slain by the sword. (Sheol )
And they that are inferior to the uncircumcised shall not lie with the mighty that are gone down to the nether-world with their weapons of war, whose swords are laid under their heads, and whose iniquities are upon their bones; because the terror of the mighty was in the land of the living. (Sheol )
Shall I ransom them from the power of the nether-world? Shall I redeem them from death? Ho, thy plagues, O death! Ho, thy destruction, O nether-world! Repentance be hid from Mine eyes! (Sheol )
Though they dig into the nether-world, thence shall My hand take them; and though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down. (Sheol )
And he said: I called out of mine affliction unto the LORD, and He answered me; out of the belly of the nether-world cried I, and Thou heardest my voice. (Sheol )
Yea, moreover, wine is a treacherous dealer; the haughty man abideth not; he who enlargeth his desire as the nether-world, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all peoples. (Sheol )
