Nehemiah 7
1 Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,
Cuando después de la construcción de las murallas hube puesto las puertas y los porteros, cantores y levitas estaban en sus puestos,
2 that I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the governor of the castle, charge over Jerusalem; for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many.
entregué el mando sobre Jerusalén a mi hermano Hananí, y a Hananías comandante de la ciudadela, como quien era hombre fiel y más temeroso de Dios que (otros) muchos.
3 And I said unto them: 'Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand on guard, let them shut the doors, and bar ye them; and let watches be appointed of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one to be over against his house.'
Y les dije: “No han de abrirse las puertas de Jerusalén hasta que caliente el sol; y se cerrarán y asegurarán las puertas estando (los capitanes) presentes; y nombrad centinelas de entre los habitantes de Jerusalén que monten la guardia cada uno en su puesto y enfrente de su casa.”
4 Now the city was wide and large; but the people were few therein, and the houses were not builded.
Porque la ciudad era espaciosa y grande, y el pueblo dentro de ella escaso, y las casas no habían sido edificadas aún.
5 And my God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found the book of the genealogy of them that came up at the first, and I found written therein:
Entonces mi Dios me dio la inspiración de reunir a los nobles, a los magistrados y al pueblo, para inscribirlos en los registros genealógicos. Hallé el registro genealógico de los que habían vuelto al principio, y allí encontré escrito así:
6 These are the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and that returned unto Jerusalem and to Judah, every one unto his city;
“Estos son los hijos de la provincia que volvieron de los cautivos de la deportación, los que había llevado cautivos Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y que regresaron a Jerusalén y a Judá, cada uno a su ciudad.
7 who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel:
Son los que han venido con Zorobabel, Jesúa, Nehemías, Azarías, Raamías, Nahamaní, Mardoqueo, Bilsán, Mispéret, Bigvai, Nahúm, Baaná. He aquí el número de los hombres del pueblo de Israel:
8 The children of Parosh, two thousand a hundred and seventy and two.
Hijos de Faros: dos mil ciento setenta y dos.
9 The children of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy and two.
Hijos de Sefatías: trescientos setenta y dos.
10 The children of Arah, six hundred fifty and two.
Hijos de Arah: seiscientos cincuenta y dos.
11 The children of Pahath-moab, of the children of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand and eight hundred and eighteen.
Hijos de Fáhat-Moab, de los hijos de Jesúa y de Joab: dos mil ochocientos diez y ocho.
12 The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four.
Hijos de Elam: mil doscientos cincuenta y cuatro.
13 The children of Zattu, eight hundred forty and five.

14 The children of Zaccai, seven hundred and threescore.

17 The children of Azgad, two thousand three hundred twenty and two.

18 The children of Adonikam, six hundred threescore and seven.

19 The children of Bigvai, two thousand threescore and seven.
Hijos de Bigvai: dos mil sesenta y siete.
20 The children of Adin, six hundred fifty and five.

21 The children of Ater, of Hezekiah, ninety and eight.

60 All the Nethinim, and the children of Solomon's servants, were three hundred ninety and two.
Total de los natineos y de los hijos de los siervos de Salomón: trescientos noventa y dos.
61 And these were they that went up from Tel-melah, Tel-harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer; but they could not tell their fathers' houses, nor their seed, whether they were of Israel:
He aquí los que subieron de Tel-Mélah, Tel-Harsá, Querub, Adón e Imer y no pudieron indicar sus casas paternas, ni su origen israelítico.
62 the children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred forty and two.
Hijos de Dalaías, hijos de Tobías, hijos de Necodá: seiscientos cuarenta y dos.
63 And of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Hakkoz, the children of Barzillai, who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called after their name.
De los sacerdotes: hijos de Hobaías, hijos de Hacós, hijos de Barcillai, hombre que había tomado mujer de las hijas de Barcillai galaadita, llamándose según el nombre de ellas.
64 These sought their register, that is, the genealogy, but it was not found; therefore were they deemed polluted and put from the priesthood.
Estos buscaron la escritura de su genealogía, pero no se halló; por lo cual fueron tratados como ineptos para el sacerdocio.
65 And the Tirshatha said unto them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there stood up a priest with Urim and Thummim.
Y les prohibió el gobernador comer de las cosas santísimas, hasta que se presentase un sacerdote capaz de consultar los Urim y Tummim.
66 The whole congregation together was forty and two thousand three hundred and threescore,
La Congregación toda era de cuarenta y dos mil trescientos sesenta personas
67 beside their men-servants and their maid-servants, of whom there were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven; and they had two hundred forty and five singing men and singing women.
sin contar a sus siervos y siervas, que eran siete mil trescientos treinta y siete. Había entre ellos doscientos cuarenta y cinco cantores y cantoras.
68 Their horses were seven hundred thirty and six; their mules, two hundred forty and five;
Tenían setecientos treinta y seis caballos, doscientos cuarenta y cinco mulos,
69 their camels, four hundred thirty and five; their asses, six thousand seven hundred and twenty.
cuatrocientos treinta y cinco camellos y seis mil setecientos veinte asnos.
70 And some from among the heads of fathers' houses gave unto the work. The Tirshatha gave to the treasury a thousand darics of gold, fifty basins, five hundred and thirty priests' tunics.
Algunos de los jefes de las casas paternas hicieron donaciones para la obra. El gobernador dio para el tesoro mil dáricos de oro, cincuenta copas y quinientos treinta vestiduras sacerdotales.
71 And some of the heads of fathers' houses gave into the treasury of the work twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pounds of silver.
De los jefes de las casas paternas llegaron para el tesoro de la obra veinte mil dáricos de oro y dos mil doscientas minas de plata.
72 And that which the rest of the people gave was twenty thousand darics of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver, and threescore and seven priests' tunics.
Lo que dio el resto del pueblo fue veinte mil dáricos de oro, dos mil minas de plata y sesenta y siete vestiduras sacerdotales.
73 So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and some of the people, and the Nethinim, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities. And when the seventh month was come, and the children of Israel were in their cities,
Habitaron los sacerdotes, los levitas, los porteros, los cantores, parte del pueblo, los natineos, en fin, todo Israel, en sus ciudades.
