Judges 10

1 And after Abimelech there arose to save Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in the hill-country of Ephraim.

Und nach Abimelech stand auf, Israel zu retten, Thola, der Sohn Puahs, der Sohn Dodos, ein Mann aus Issaschar; und er wohnte in Schamir auf dem Gebirge Ephraim;

2 And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.

Und er richtete Israel dreiundzwanzig Jahre; und er starb und ward in Schamir begraben.

3 And after him arose Jair, the Gileadite; and he judged Israel twenty and two years.

Und nach ihm stand auf Jair, der Gileaditer, und richtete Israel zweiundzwanzig Jahre.

4 And he had thirty sons that rode on thirty ass colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havvoth-jair unto this day, which are in the land of Gilead.

Und er hatte dreißig Söhne, die auf drei-ßig Eselsfüllen ritten und dreißig Städte hatten, die auf diesen Tag Jairdörfer heißen, und sind im Lande Gilead.

5 And Jair died, and was buried in Kamon.

Und Jair starb und ward in Kamon begraben.

6 And the children of Israel again did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and served the Baalim, and the Ashtaroth, and the gods of Aram, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; and they forsook the LORD, and served Him not.

Und die Söhne Israels taten wider, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, und dienten den Baalim und Aschtaroth und den Göttern Arams und den Göttern Zidons und den Göttern Moabs und den Göttern der Philister, und verließen Jehovah und dienten Ihm nicht.

7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and He gave them over into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the children of Ammon.

Und es entbrannte der Zorn Jehovahs wider Israel, und Er verkaufte sie in die Hand der Philister und in die Hand der Söhne Ammons.

8 And they oppressed and crushed the children of Israel that year; eighteen years oppressed they all the children of Israel that were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

Und sie zerschmetterten und zerschlugen die Söhne Israels in dem Jahre, achtzehn Jahre, alle Söhne Israel, jenseits des Jordan im Land des Amoriters, das ist Gilead.

9 And the children of Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was sore distressed.

Und die Söhne Ammons setzten über den Jordan, um auch wider Judah, Benjamin und das Haus Ephraims zu streiten, und Israel war sehr bedrängt.

10 And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying: 'We have sinned against Thee, in that we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baalim.'

Und die Söhne Israels schrien zu Jehovah und sprachen: Wir haben gesündigt gegen Dich und daß wir unseren Gott verlassen und den Baalim gedient haben.

11 And the LORD said unto the children of Israel: 'Did not I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

Und Jehovah sprach zu den Söhnen Israels: Habe Ich euch nicht von den Ägyptern und von den Amoritern und von den Söhnen Ammons und von den Philistern,

12 The Zidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, did oppress you; and ye cried unto Me, and I saved you out of their hand.

Und von den Zidoniern und von dem Amalek und Maon, die euch unterdrückten, und ihr zu Mir schriet, aus ihrer Hand gerettet?

13 Yet ye have forsaken Me, and served other gods; wherefore I will save you no more.

Und ihr habt Mich verlassen und anderen Göttern gedient, darum will Ich nicht fortfahren, euch zu helfen.

14 Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them save you in the time of your distress.'

Gehet hin und schreit zu den Göttern, die ihr euch erwählt habt; sie sollen zur Zeit der Drangsal euch helfen.

15 And the children of Israel said unto the LORD: 'We have sinned; do Thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto Thee; only deliver us, we pray Thee, this day.'

Und die Söhne Israels sprachen zu Jehovah: Wir haben gesündigt. Tue Du an uns, wie es gut in Deinen Augen ist, nur errette uns doch diesen Tag.

16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD; and His soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

Und sie taten weg die Götter des Auslands aus ihrer Mitte und dienten Jehovah; und Seine Seele ward ungeduldig über dem Mühsal Israels.

17 Then the children of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the children of Israel assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpah.

Und es wurden zusammengerufen die Söhne Ammons, und sie lagerten sich in Gilead, und die Söhne Israels versammelten sich und lagerten in Mizpah.

18 And the people, the princes of Gilead, said one to another: 'What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.'

Und das Volk, die Obersten Gileads, sprachen einer zum Genossen: Wer ist der Mann, der anfängt zu streiten wider die Söhne Ammons, der soll das Haupt sein über alle, die in Gilead wohnen.
