Ezra 6

1 Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the archives, where the treasures were laid up, in Babylon.

Entonces el rey Darío dio orden, y se hicieron investigaciones en la casa de los archivos, donde se guardaban los tesoros, allá en Babilonia.

2 And there was found at Ahmetha, in the palace that is in the province of Media, a roll, and therein was thus written: 'A record.

Y fue hallado en el alcázar de Ecbátana, en la provincia de Media, un rollo, en que estaba escrito el siguiente documento:

3 In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king made a decree: Concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, let the house be builded, the place where they offer sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;

“En el año primero del rey Ciro ha dado el rey Ciro este edicto: Edifíquese la Casa de Dios en Jerusalén, la Casa que ha de servir de lugar para ofrecer sacrificios, y que se echen los fundamentos. Su altura sea de sesenta codos, y su anchura de sesenta codos,

4 with three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber, and let the expenses be given out of the king's house;

con tres órdenes de piedras enormes y una hilera de vigas; y los gastos corran por cuenta de la casa del rey.

5 and also let the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought back unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to its place, and thou shalt put them in the house of God.'

Sean devueltos también los utensilios de oro y de plata de la Casa de Dios que Nabucodonosor sacó del Templo de Jerusalén y llevó a Babilonia; y sean transportados al Templo que está en Jerusalén, al lugar donde estaban. Tú los depositarás en la Casa de Dios.”

6 'Now therefore, Tattenai, governor beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and your companions the Apharesachites, who are beyond the River, be ye far from thence;

“Ahora bien, tú, Tatnai, gobernador de allende el río, y tú, Setarboznai, con vuestros compañeros, los afarseos, que habitáis en el otro lado del río, retiraos de ellos,

7 let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in its place.

y dejad fabricar esta casa de Dios al gobernador de los judíos y a los ancianos de los judíos. Que ellos edifiquen esta Casa de Dios en su lugar.

8 Moreover I make a decree concerning what ye shall do to these elders of the Jews for the building of this house of God; that of the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the River, expenses be given with all diligence unto these men, that they be not hindered.

Yo de mi parte para edificar esta Casa de Dios, os doy esta orden respecto de lo que habéis de hacer en favor de estos ancianos de los judíos: que se pague a aquellos hombres los gastos exactamente y sin demora de la hacienda del rey, es decir, de los tributos de más allá del río.

9 And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for burnt-offerings to the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the word of the priests that are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail;

Y lo que necesiten para los holocaustos (a ofrecer) al Dios del cielo, becerros, carneros y corderos, y también trigo, sal, vino y aceite, se les entregue sin falta día por día según lo exijan los sacerdotes que están en Jerusalén.

10 that they may offer sacrifices of sweet savour unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.

para que presenten sacrificios de olor grato al Dios del cielo, y oren por la vida del rey y de sus hijos.

11 Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let a beam be pulled out from his house, and let him be lifted up and fastened thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this;

Decreto también que a cualquier hombre que mudare este mandato, se le arranque de su casa una viga, en la cual él sea colgado y clavado, y en castigo de eso sea convertida su casa en un montón de escombros.

12 and may the God that hath caused His name to dwell there overthrow all kings and peoples, that shall put forth their hand to alter the same, to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with all diligence.'

¡Que el Dios que hace residir allí su Nombre derribe a todo rey y pueblo que extienda su mano para mudar este decreto y destruir esta Casa de Dios en Jerusalén! Yo Darío he dado este edicto; sea ejecutado exactamente.”

13 Then Tattenai, the governor beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and their companions, because that Darius the king had thus sent, acted with all diligence.

Entonces Tatnai, gobernador de más allá del río, Setarboznai y sus compañeros, lo ejecutaron exactamente, de acuerdo a la orden que el rey Darío había enviado.

14 And the elders of the Jews builded and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the decree of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

Los ancianos de los judíos prosiguieron con buen éxito la reconstrucción, (animados) por las profecías de Ageo profeta, y de Zacarías, hijo de Iddó. Así construyeron hasta el fin, por orden del Dios de Israel, y por mandato de Ciro, Darío y Artajerjes, reyes de Persia;

15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

y fue terminada esta Casa el día tercero del mes de Adar, en el año sexto del reinado del rey Darío.

16 And the children of Israel, the priests and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.

Los hijos de Israel, los sacerdotes y los levitas y el resto de los hijos del cautiverio, celebraron con gozo la dedicación de esta Casa de Dios,

17 And they offered at the dedication of this house of God a hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin-offering for all Israel, twelve he-goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.

ofreciendo para la dedicación de esta Casa de Dios cien becerros, doscientos carneros, cuatrocientos corderos, y conforme al número de las tribus de Israel, doce machos cabríos para sacrificios por el pecado en favor de todo Israel.

18 And they set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses.

Y establecieron a los sacerdotes según sus divisiones, y a los levitas según sus clases, para el servicio de Dios en Jerusalén, conforme a lo escrito en el Libro de Moisés.

19 And the children of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month.

Los hijos del cautiverio celebraron la Pascua el día catorce del mes primero;

20 For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together; all of them were pure; and they killed the passover lamb for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.

pues entonces se habían purificado todos los sacerdotes y los levitas, sin excepción alguna; todos estaban puros, e inmolaron la Pascua para todos los hijos del cautiverio, para sus hermanos los sacerdotes, y para ellos mismos.

21 And the children of Israel, that were come back out of the captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the nations of the land, to seek the LORD, the God of Israel, did eat,

Los israelitas vueltos del cautiverio la comieron, y todos los que se habían separado de las inmundicias de los gentiles del país, agregándose a aquellos para buscar a Yahvé, el Dios de Israel.

22 and kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy; for the LORD had made them joyful, and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

Celebraron la fiesta de los Ácimos con júbilo durante siete días; pues Yahvé los había llenado de alegría y dirigido hacia ellos el corazón del rey de Asiria para robustecer sus manos en la obra de la Casa de Dios, el Dios de Israel.
