Ezekiel 4

1 Thou also, son of man, take thee a tile, and lay it before thee, and trace upon it a city, even Jerusalem;

人の子よ、一枚のかわらを取って、あなたの前に置き、その上にエルサレムの町を描きなさい。

2 and lay siege against it, and build forts against it, and cast up a mound against it; set camps also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.

そしてこれを取り囲み、これにむかって雲梯を設け、塁を築き、陣を張り、その回りに城くずしを備えてこれを攻めなさい。

3 And take thou unto thee an iron griddle, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city; and set thy face toward it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.

また鉄の板をとり、それをあなたと町の間に置いて鉄の壁となし、あなたの顔をこれに向けなさい。町をこのように囲んで、その包囲を押し進めなさい。これがイスラエルの家のしるしである。

4 Moreover lie thou upon thy left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it; according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon it, thou shalt bear their iniquity.

あなたはまた自分の左脇を下にして寝なさい。わたしはあなたの上にイスラエルの家の罰を置く。あなたはこのようにして寝ている日の間、彼らの罰を負わなければならない。

5 For I have appointed the years of their iniquity to be unto thee a number of days, even three hundred and ninety days; so shalt thou bear the iniquity of the house of Israel.

わたしは彼らの罰の年数に等しいその日数、すなわち三百九十日をあなたのために定める。その間あなたはイスラエルの家の罰を負わなければならない。

6 And again, when thou hast accomplished these, thou shalt lie on thy right side, and shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah; forty days, each day for a year, have I appointed it unto thee.

あなたはその期間を終ったなら、また右脇を下にして寝て、ユダの家の罰を負わなければならない。わたしは一日を一年として四十日をあなたのために定める。

7 And thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, with thine arm uncovered; and thou shalt prophesy against it.

あなたは自分の顔をエルサレムの包囲の方に向け、腕をあらわし、町に向かって預言しなければならない。

8 And, behold, I lay bands upon thee, and thou shalt not turn thee from one side to another, till thou hast accomplished the days of thy siege.

見よ、わたしはあなたに、なわをかけて、あなたの包囲の期間の終るまで、左右に動くことができないようにする。

9 Take thou also unto thee wheat, and barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make thee bread thereof; according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, even three hundred and ninety days, shalt thou eat thereof.

あなたはまた小麦、大麦、豆、レンズ豆、あわ、はだか麦を取って、一つの器に入れ、これでパンを造り、あなたが横になって寝る日の数、すなわち三百九十日の間これを食べなければならない。

10 And thy food which thou shalt eat shall be by weight, twenty shekels a day; from time to time shalt thou eat it.

あなたが食べる食物は量って一日に二十シケルである。あなたは一日に一度これを食べなければならない。

11 Thou shalt drink also water by measure, the sixth part of a hin; from time to time shalt thou drink.

また水を量って一ヒンの六分の一を一日に一度飲まなければならない。

12 And thou shalt eat it as barley cakes, and thou shalt bake it in their sight with dung that cometh out of man.'

あなたは大麦の菓子のようにしてこれを食べなさい。すなわち彼らの目の前でこれを人の糞で焼かなければならない」。

13 And the LORD said: 'Even thus shall the children of Israel eat their bread unclean, among the nations whither I will drive them.'

そして主は言われた、「このようにイスラエルの民はわたしが追いやろうとする国々の中で汚れたパンを食べなければならない」。

14 Then said I: 'Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted; for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn of beasts; neither came there abhorred flesh into my mouth.'

そこでわたしは言った、「ああ、主なる神よ、わたしは自分を汚したことはありません。わたしは幼い時から今日まで、自然に死んだものや、野獣に裂き殺されたものを食べたことはありません。また汚れた肉がわたしの口にはいったことはありません」。

15 Then He said unto me: 'See, I have given thee cow's dung for man's dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread thereon.'

すると彼はわたしに言われた、「見よ、わたしは牛の糞をもって人の糞に換えることをあなたにゆるす。あなたはそれで自分のパンを整えなさい」。

16 Moreover He said unto me: 'Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem, and they shall eat bread by weight, and with anxiety; and they shall drink water by measure, and in appalment;

またわたしに言われた、「人の子よ、見よ、わたしはエルサレムで人のつえとするパンを打ち砕く。彼らはパンを量って、恐れながら食べ、また水を量って驚きながら飲む。

17 that they may want bread and water, and be appalled one with another, and pine away in their iniquity.

これは彼らをパンと水とに乏しくし、互に驚いて顔を見合わせ、その罰のために衰えさせるためである。
