Ezekiel 17
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
൧യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
2 'Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel,
൨“മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹത്തോട് ഒരു കടങ്കഥ പറഞ്ഞ് ഒരു ഉപമ പ്രസ്താവിക്കേണ്ടത്:
3 and say: Thus saith the Lord GOD: A great eagle with great wings and long pinions, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the top of the cedar;
൩‘യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: വലിയ ചിറകും നീണ്ടതും പലനിറത്തിലുമുള്ള തൂവലുകൾ നിറഞ്ഞതുമായ ഒരു വലിയ കഴുകൻ ലെബനോനിൽ വന്ന് ഒരു ദേവദാരുവിന്റെ ശിഖരം എടുത്തു.
4 He cropped off the topmost of the young twigs thereof, and carried it into a land of traffic; he set it in a city of merchants.
൪അവൻ അതിന്റെ ഇളഞ്ചില്ലികളുടെ അറ്റം മുറിച്ച് വാണിജ്യപ്രാധാന്യമുള്ള ദേശത്ത് കൊണ്ടുചെന്ന്, കച്ചവടക്കാരുടെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ നട്ടു.
5 He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful soil; he placed it beside many waters, he set it as a slip.
൫അവൻ ദേശത്തെ തൈകളിൽ ഒന്നെടുത്ത് ഒരു വിളനിലത്തു നട്ടു; അവൻ അത് ധാരാളം വെള്ളമുള്ള സ്ഥലത്ത് കൊണ്ടുചെന്ന് അലരിവൃക്ഷംപോലെ നട്ടു.
6 And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose tendrils might turn toward him, and the roots thereof be under him; so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.
൬അത് വളർന്ന്, പൊക്കം കുറഞ്ഞ് പടരുന്ന മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയായിത്തീർന്നു; അതിന്റെ വള്ളി അവന്റെനേരെ തിരിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; അതിന്റെ വേരുകൾ താഴോട്ട് ആയിരുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ അത് മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയായി കൊമ്പുകളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കുകയും ചില്ലികളെ നീട്ടുകയും ചെയ്തു.
7 There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers; and, behold, this vine did bend its roots toward him, and shot forth its branches toward him, from the beds of its plantation, that he might water it.
൭എന്നാൽ വലിയ ചിറകും വളരെ തൂവലും ഉള്ള മറ്റൊരു വലിയ കഴുകൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ അത് നനയ്ക്കേണ്ടതിന് ആ മുന്തിരിവള്ളി തന്റെ തടത്തിൽനിന്ന് വേരുകളെ അവന്റെനേരെ തിരിച്ച് കൊമ്പുകളെ അവന്റെനേരെ നീട്ടി.
8 It was planted in a good soil by many waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a stately vine.
൮കൊമ്പുകളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച്, ഫലം കായിക്കുവാനും നല്ല മുന്തിരിവള്ളി ആയിത്തീരുവാനും തക്കവിധം അതിനെ ധാരാളം വെള്ളത്തിനരികിൽ നല്ലനിലത്ത് നട്ടിരുന്നു.
9 Say thou: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither, yea, wither in all its sprouting leaves? neither shall great power or much people be at hand when it is plucked up by the roots thereof.
൯ഇതു സാദ്ധ്യമാകുമോ? അത് വാടിപ്പോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം, അതിന്റെ തളിർത്ത ഇലകളൊക്കെയും വാടിപ്പോകത്തക്കവണ്ണം തന്നെ, അവൻ അതിന്റെ വേരുകൾ മാന്തുകയും കായ്കൾ പറിച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യുകയില്ലയോ? അതിനെ വേരോടെ പിഴുതുകളയേണ്ടതിന് വലിയ ബലമോ വളരെ ജനമോ ആവശ്യമില്ല.
10 Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? Shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? In the beds where it grew it shall wither.'
൧൦അത് നട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം; അത് തഴയ്ക്കുമോ? കിഴക്കൻകാറ്റു തട്ടുമ്പോൾ അത് വേഗം വാടിപ്പോകുകയില്ലയോ? വളർന്ന തടത്തിൽ തന്നെ അത് ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോകും എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്ന് നീ പറയുക”.
11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
൧൧യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
12 'Say now to the rebellious house: Know ye not what these things mean? tell them: Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and brought them to him to Babylon;
൧൨“ഇതിന്റെ അർത്ഥം നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ” എന്ന് നീ ആ മത്സരഗൃഹത്തോട് ചോദിച്ചിട്ട് അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടത്: “ബാബേൽരാജാവ് യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വന്ന് അതിന്റെ രാജാവിനെയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും പിടിച്ച് തന്നോടുകൂടി ബാബേലിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി;
13 and he took of the seed royal, and made a covenant with him, and brought him under an oath, and the mighty of the land he took away;
൧൩രാജസന്തതിയിൽ ഒരുവനെ അവൻ എടുത്ത് അവനുമായി ഒരു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്ത് അവനെക്കൊണ്ട് സത്യംചെയ്യിച്ചു;
14 that his might be a lowly kingdom, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand.
൧൪രാജ്യം തന്നത്താൻ ഉയർത്താതെ താണിരുന്ന് അവന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി പ്രമാണിച്ച് നിലനിന്നുപോരേണ്ടതിന് അവൻ ദേശത്തിലെ ബലവാന്മാരെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി.
15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things? shall he break the covenant, and yet escape?
൧൫എങ്കിലും അവനോട് മത്സരിച്ച് ഇവൻ തനിക്ക് കുതിരകളെയും വളരെ പടജ്ജനത്തെയും അയച്ചുതരണമെന്ന് പറയുവാൻ ദൂതന്മാരെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്ക് അയച്ചു: അവൻ കൃതാർത്ഥനാകുമോ? ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ തെറ്റി ഒഴിയുമോ? അല്ല, അവൻ ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിച്ചിട്ട് രക്ഷപ്പെടാൻ കഴിയുമോ?
16 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
൧൬എന്നാണ, അവനെ രാജാവാക്കിയ രാജാവിന്റെ സ്ഥലമായ ബാബേലിൽ, അവന്റെ അരികിൽ വച്ചു തന്നെ, അവൻ മരിക്കും” എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാട്; അവനോട് ചെയ്ത സത്യം അവൻ ധിക്കരിക്കുകയും അവനുമായുള്ള ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.
17 Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company succour him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts, to cut off many souls;
൧൭അസംഖ്യം ജനത്തെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുവാൻ തക്കവിധം അവർ ഉപരോധം ഏർപ്പെടുത്തി, കോട്ട പണിയുമ്പോൾ ഫറവോൻ മഹാസൈന്യത്തോടും വലിയ കൂട്ടത്തോടും കൂടി അവനുവേണ്ടി യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ഒന്നും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുകയില്ല.
18 seeing he hath despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these things, he shall not escape.
൧൮അവൻ ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിച്ച് സത്യം ധിക്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ കൈയടിച്ച് സത്യം ചെയ്തിട്ടും ഇതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകയാൽ അവൻ രക്ഷപെടുകയില്ല”.
19 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: As I live, surely Mine oath that he hath despised, and My covenant that he hath broken, I will even bring it upon his own head.
൧൯അതുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “എന്നാണ, അവൻ ധിക്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ സത്യവും ലംഘിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടിയും ഞാൻ അവന്റെ തലമേൽ വരുത്തും.
20 And I will spread My net upon him, and he shall be taken in My snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will plead with him there for his treachery that he hath committed against Me.
൨൦ഞാൻ എന്റെ വല അവന്റെമേൽ വീശും; അവൻ എന്റെ കെണിയിൽ അകപ്പെടും; ഞാൻ അവനെ ബാബേലിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുചെന്ന്, അവൻ എന്നോട് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദ്രോഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് അവിടെവച്ച് അവനോട് വ്യവഹരിക്കും.
21 And all his mighty men in all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward every wind; and ye shall know that I the LORD have spoken it.
൨൧അവന്റെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠയോദ്ധാക്കൾ എല്ലാവരും അവന്റെ എല്ലാ പടക്കൂട്ടങ്ങളും വാളാൽ വീഴും; ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവർ നാല് ദിക്കിലേക്കും ചിതറിപ്പോകും; യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ അത് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു എന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ അറിയും”.
22 Thus saith the Lord GOD: Moreover I will take, even I, of the lofty top of the cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it upon a high mountain and eminent;
൨൨യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാനും ഉയരമുള്ള ദേവദാരുവിന്റെ ഒരു ശിഖരം എടുത്ത് നടും; അതിന്റെ ഇളഞ്ചില്ലികളുടെ അറ്റത്തുനിന്ന് ഇളയതായിരിക്കുന്ന ഒന്ന് ഞാൻ മുറിച്ചെടുത്തു ഉയരവും ഉന്നതവുമായ ഒരു പർവ്വതത്തിൽ നടും.
23 in the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it; and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a stately cedar; and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing, in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.
൨൩യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ഉയർന്ന പർവ്വതത്തിൽ ഞാൻ അത് നടും; അത് കൊമ്പുകളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ച് ഫലം കായിച്ച് ഭംഗിയുള്ള ഒരു ദേവദാരുവായിത്തീരും; അതിന്റെ കീഴിൽ പലവിധം ചിറകുള്ള പക്ഷികൾ പാർക്കും; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളുടെ നിഴലിൽ അവ വസിക്കും.
24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish; I the LORD have spoken and have done it.'
൨൪‘യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ ഉയരമുള്ള വൃക്ഷത്തെ താഴ്ത്തി, താണിരുന്ന വൃക്ഷത്തെ ഉയർത്തുകയും, പച്ചയായ വൃക്ഷത്തെ ഉണക്കി, ഉണങ്ങിയ വൃക്ഷത്തെ തഴപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു’ എന്ന് കാട്ടിലെ സകലവൃക്ഷങ്ങളും അറിയും; യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ അത് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചും നിറവേറ്റിയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു”.
