2 Chronicles 33

1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem.

Manasse war zwölf Jahre alt, da er König ward, und regierete fünfundfünfzig Jahre zu Jerusalem;

2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the nations, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

und tat, das dem HERRN übel gefiel, nach den Greueln der Heiden, die der HERR vor den Kindern Israel vertrieben hatte.

3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he reared up altars for the Baalim, and made Asheroth, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

Und kehrete sich um und bauete die Höhen die sein Vater Hiskia abgebrochen hatte, und stiftete Baalim Altäre und machte Haine und betete an allerlei Heer am Himmel und dienete ihnen.

4 And he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD said: 'In Jerusalem shall My name be for ever.'

Er bauete auch Altäre im Hause des HERRN, davon der HERR geredet hat: Zu Jerusalem soll mein Name sein ewiglich.

5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

Und bauete Altäre allerlei Heer am Himmel in beiden Höfen am Hause des HERRN.

6 He also made his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom; and he practised soothsaying, and used enchantments, and practised sorcery, and appointed them that divined by a ghost or a familiar spirit; he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him.

Und er ließ seine Söhne durchs Feuer gehen im Tal des Sohns Hinnoms und wählte Tage und achtete auf Vogelgeschrei und zauberte und stiftete Wahrsager und Zeichendeuter und tat viel, das dem HERRN übel gefiel, ihn zu erzürnen.

7 And he set the graven image of the idol, which he had made, in the house of God, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son: 'In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put My name for ever;

Er setzte auch Bilder und Götzen, die er machen ließ, ins Haus Gottes, davon der HERR David geredet hatte und Salomo, seinem Sohn: In diesem Hause zu Jerusalem, die ich erwählet habe vor allen Stämmen Israels, will ich meinen Namen setzen ewiglich;

8 neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from off the land which I have appointed for your fathers; if only they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, even all the law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.'

und will nicht mehr den Fuß Israels lassen weichen vom Lande, das ich ihren Vätern bestellet habe, sofern sie sich halten, daß sie tun alles, was ich ihnen geboten habe, in allen Gesetzen, Geboten und Rechten durch Mose.

9 And Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, so that they did evil more than did the nations, whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.

Aber Manasse verführete Juda und die zu Jerusalem, daß sie ärger taten denn die Heiden, die der HERR vor den Kindern Israel vertilget hatte.

10 And the LORD spoke to Manasseh, and to his people; but they gave no heed.

Und wenn der HERR mit Manasse und seinem Volk reden ließ, merkten sie nichts drauf.

11 Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh with hooks, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

Darum ließ der HERR über sie kommen die Fürsten des Heers des Königs zu Assur; die nahmen Manasse gefangen mit Fesseln und banden ihn mit Ketten und brachten ihn gen Babel.

12 And when he was in distress, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.

Und da er in der Angst war, flehete er vor dem HERRN, seinem Gott, und demütigte sich sehr vor dem Gott seiner Väter,

13 And he prayed unto Him; and He was entreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD He was God.

und bat und flehete ihn. Da erhörete er sein Flehen und brachte ihn wieder gen Jerusalem zu seinem Königreich. Da erkannte Manasse, daß der HERR Gott ist.

14 Now after this he built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate; and he compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height; and he put captains of the army in all the fortified cities of Judah.

Danach bauete er die äußersten Mauern an der Stadt Davids von abendwärts an Gihon im Bach, und da man zum Fischtor eingehet, und umher an Ophel und machte sie sehr hoch; und, legte Hauptleute in die festen Städte Judas.

15 And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

Und tat weg die fremden Götter und die Götzen aus dem Hause des HERRN und alle Altäre, die er gebauet hatte auf dem Berge des Hauses des HERRN und zu Jerusalem; und warf sie hinaus vor die Stadt.

16 And he built up the altar of the LORD, and offered thereon sacrifices of peace-offerings and of thanksgiving, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD, the God of Israel.

Und richtete zu den Altar des HERRN und opferte drauf Dankopfer und Lobopfer; und befahl Juda, daß sie dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, dienen sollten.

17 Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, but only unto the LORD their God.

Doch opferte das Volk auf den Höhen, wiewohl dem HERRN, ihrem Gott.

18 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spoke to him in the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, behold, they are written among the acts of the kings of Israel.

Was aber mehr von Manasse zu sagen ist, und sein Gebet zu seinem Gott, und die Rede der Schauer, die mit ihm redeten im Namen des HERRN, des Gottes Israels, siehe, die sind unter den Geschichten der Könige Israels.

19 His prayer also, and how God was entreated of him, and all his sin and his transgression, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up the Asherim and the graven images, before he humbled himself; behold, they are written in the history of the seers.

Und sein Gebet und Flehen und alle seine Sünde und Missetat und die Stätte, darauf er die Höhen bauete und Haine und Götzen stiftete, ehe denn er gedemütiget ward, siehe, die sind geschrieben, unter den Geschichten der Schauer.

20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house; and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

Und Manasse entschlief mit seinen Vätern, und sie begruben ihn in seinem Hause. Und sein Sohn Amon ward König an seiner Statt.

21 Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.

Zweiundzwanzig Jahre alt war Amon, da er König ward, und regierete zwei Jahre zu Jerusalem.

22 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father; and Amon sacrificed unto all the graven images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them.

Und tat, das dem HERRN übel gefiel, wie sein Vater Manasse getan hatte. Und Amon opferte allen Götzen, die sein Vater Manasse gemacht hatte, und dienete ihnen.

23 And he humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon became guilty more and more.

Aber er demütigte sich nicht vor dem HERRN, wie sich sein Vater Manasse gedemütiget hatte; denn er, Amon, machte der Schuld viel.

24 And his servants conspired against him, and put him to death in his own house.

Und seine Knechte machten einen Bund wider ihn und töteten ihn in seinem Hause.

25 But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

Da schlug das Volk im Lande alle, die den Bund wider den König Amon gemacht hatten. Und das Volk im Lande machte Josia, seinen Sohn, zum Könige an seiner Statt.
