Luke 15
1 THEN drew nigh unto him all the tax-farmers and the sinners to hear him.
E chegavam-se a ele todos os publicanos e pecadores para o ouvirem.
2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man entertains sinners, and eateth with them.
E os fariseus e escribas murmuravam, dizendo: Este recebe aos pecadores, e come com eles.
3 Then spake he unto them this parable, saying,
E ele lhes propôs esta parábola, dizendo:
4 What man is there of you, possessing an hundred sheep, though he lose but one of them, will he not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Quem de vós, tendo cem ovelhas, e perdendo uma delas, não deixa no deserto as noventa e nove, e vai em [busca] da perdida, até que a encontre?
5 and when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
E encontrando-a, [não] a ponha sobre seus ombros, com alegria?
6 And coming home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Congratulate me; for I have found that sheep of mine which was lost.
E vindo para casa, [não] convoque aos amigos, e vizinhos, dizendo-lhes: Alegrai-vos comigo, porque já achei minha ovelha perdida?
7 I tell you, that just so will there be joy in heaven over one repentant sinner, more than over ninety-nine righteous persons, who hold not their need of repentance.
Digo-vos, que assim haverá mais alegria no céu por um pecador que se arrepende, do que por noventa e nove justos que não precisam de arrependimento.
8 Or what woman having ten pieces of silver coin, if she lose one of them, doth she not light a lamp, and sweep the house, and make diligent search until she find it?
Ou que mulher, tendo dez moedas de prata, se perder a uma moeda, não acende a lâmpada, e varre a casa, e busca cuidadosamente até [a] achar?
9 And having found it, she calleth her female friends and neighbours together, saying, Congratulate me; for I have found the silver piece I had lost.
E achando [-a], [não] chame as amigas e as vizinhas, dizendo: Alegrai-vos comigo, porque já achei a moeda perdida!
10 Even so, I tell you, there is joy among the angels of God, over one repentant sinner.
Assim vos digo, que há alegria diante dos anjos de Deus por um pecador que se arrepende.
11 Then he said, A certain man had two sons:
E disse: Um certo homem tinha dois filhos.
12 and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of substance which falls to my share. And he divided with them his fortune.
E disse o mais jovem deles ao pai: Pai, dá-me a parte dos bens que [me] pertencem. E ele lhe repartiu os bens.
13 And not many days after, the younger son, collecting his all, travelled into a far distant country, and there dissipated his substance in a life of debauchery.
E depois de não muitos dias, o filho mais jovem, juntando tudo, partiu-se para uma terra distante, e ali desperdiçou seus bens, vivendo de forma irresponsável.
14 But when he had spent all, there came a terrible famine in that region; and he began to know want.
E ele, tendo já gastado tudo, houve uma grande fome naquela terra, e ele começou a sofrer necessidade.
15 And he went and connected himself with one of the citizens of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
E foi, se chegou a um dos cidadãos daquela terra; e [este] o mandou a seus campos para alimentar porcos.
16 And he eagerly longed to fill his belly with the charob berries which the swine did eat: and no person gave him a morsel.
E ele ficava com vontade de encher seu estômago com os grãos que os porcos comiam, mas ninguém [as] dava para ele.
17 Then coming to himself, he said, How many hirelings of my father abound with loaves of bread, and I am pining away with famine!
E ele, pensando consigo mesmo, disse: Quantos empregados de meu pai tem pão em abundância, e eu [aqui] morro de fome!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
Eu levantarei, e irei a meu pai, e lhe direi: Pai, pequei contra o céu, e diante de ti.
19 and I am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hirelings.
E já não sou digno de ser chamado teu filho; faze-me como a um de teus empregados.
20 And he arose and came to his father. But when he was yet at a considerable distance, his father discovered him, and was moved with compassion, and running, fell on his neck, and kissed him again and again.
E levantando-se, foi a seu pai. E quando ainda estava longe, o seu pai o viu, e teve compaixão dele; e correndo, caiu ao seu pescoço, e o beijou.
21 Then said the son unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
E o filho lhe disse: Pai, pequei contra o céu, e diante de ti; e já não sou digno de ser chamado teu filho.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring out the best robe, and clothe him; and put a ring on his hand, and sandals on his feet:
Mas o pai disse a seus servos: Trazei a melhor roupa, e o vesti; e ponde um anel em sua mão, e sandálias nos [seus] pés.
23 and bring hither the stall-fed steer, and kill it; and let us eat, and be joyous.
E trazei o bezerro engordado, e o matai; e comamos, e nos alegremos.
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found. And they began to be joyous.
Porque este meu filho estava morto, e reviveu; tinha se perdido, e foi achado. E começaram a se alegrar.
25 Now his elder brother had been in the field: and when coming home he drew near the house, he heard a concert of music, and the chorus.
E seu filho mais velho estava no campo; e quando veio, chegou perto da casa, ouviu a música, e as danças.
26 And calling one of the servants, he inquired what these things meant.
E chamando para si um dos servos, perguntou-lhe: O que era aquilo?
27 And he said, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed for him the stall-fed steer, because he hath received him in health.
E ele lhe disse: Teu irmão chegou; e teu pai matou o bezerro engordado, porque ele voltou são.
28 Then he was in great wrath, and would not enter the doors: therefore his father came out, and entreated him.
Porém ele se irritou, e não queria entrar. Então o seu pai, saindo, rogava-lhe [que entrasse].
29 But he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years I am serving thee, and never have transgressed thy command: yet to me thou hast never once given a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
Mas [o filho] respondendo, disse ao pai: Eis que eu te sirvo há tantos anos, e nunca desobedeci tua ordem, e nunca me deste um cabrito, para que eu me alegrasse com meus amigos.
30 but no sooner is this son of thine come, who hath devoured thy substance with whores, than thou hast killed for him the stall-fed steer.
Porém, vindo este teu filho, que gastou teus bens com prostitutas, tu lhe mataste o bezerro engordado.
31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all my possessions are thine.
E ele lhe disse: Filho, tu sempre estás comigo, e todas as minhas coisas são tuas.
32 But it was right that we should rejoice, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
Mas era necessário se alegrar e animar; porque este teu irmão estava morto, e reviveu; e tinha se perdido, e foi encontrado.
