< Zechariah 1 >

1 In the eight moneth of the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo, the Prophet, saying,
‌ʻI hono valu ʻoe māhina, mo hono ua ʻoe taʻu ʻa Talaiasi, naʻe hoko mai ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kia Sakalaia ko e foha ʻo Pelekia, ko e foha ia ʻo Ito, ko e palōfita, ʻo pehē,
2 The Lord hath bene sore displeased with your fathers.
Kuo mamahi ʻaupito ʻa Sihova ki hoʻomou ngaahi tamai.
3 Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne ye vnto me, saith the Lord of hostes, and I will turne vnto you, saith the Lord of hostes.
Ko ia ke ke pehē kiate kinautolu, “ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; ‘Tafoki mai ʻakimoutolu kiate au, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, pea te u tafoki atu au kiate kimoutolu: ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau.
4 Be ye not as your fathers, vnto whome the former prophets haue cried, saying, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne you nowe from your euill wayes, and from your wicked workes: but they would not heare, nor hearken vnto me, saith the Lord.
‌ʻOua te mou hangē ko hoʻomou ngaahi tamai, ʻaia naʻe kalanga ki ai ʻae kau palōfita ʻi muʻa, ʻo pehē, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, Tafoki mai ʻanai ni mei homou ngaahi hala kovi, mo hoʻomou ngaahi faianga kovi; ka naʻe ʻikai te nau ongoʻi, pe fanongo kiate au, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.
5 your fathers, where are they? and doe the Prophets liue for euer?
Ko hoʻomou ngaahi tamai, ko e fē ʻakinautolu? Pea ko e kau palōfita, he ʻoku moʻui ʻakinautolu ke taʻengata?
6 But did not my wordes and my statutes, which I commanded by my seruants ye Prophets, take holde of your fathers? and they returned, and sayd, As the Lord of hostes hath determined to doe vnto vs, according to our owne wayes, and according to our workes, so hath hee dealt with vs.
Ka ko ʻeku ngaahi lea, mo ʻeku ngaahi fekau, ʻaia naʻaku tuku ki he kau palōfita, ʻikai naʻa nau hoko ki hoʻomou ngaahi tamai? Pea naʻa nau foki mai, mo nau pehē, Hangē ko ia naʻe finangalo ʻa Sihova ke fai kiate kitautolu, ʻo fakatatau ki hotau ngaahi hala, pea mo ʻetau ngaahi faianga, ko ia pe kuo ne fai kiate kitautolu.’”
7 Vpon the foure and twentieth day of the eleuenth moneth, which is the moneth Shebat, in the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo the Prophet, saying,
ʻI hono uofulu ma fā ʻoe ʻaho ʻi hono hongofulu ma taha ʻoe māhina, ʻae māhina ko Sipate, ʻi hono ua ʻoe taʻu ʻo Talaiasi, naʻe hoko mai ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova kia Sakalaia, ko e foha ʻo Pelekia, ko e foha ʻo Ito, ko e palōfita, ʻo pehē,
8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding vpon a red horse, and hee stood among the mirre trees, that were in a bottome, and behinde him were there red horses speckeled and white.
Naʻaku mamata ʻi he pō, pea vakai, ko e tangata naʻe heka ki ha hoosi kulokula, pea naʻe tuʻu ia ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi ʻakau ko e maile, ʻaia naʻe ʻi he teleʻa; pea naʻe muimui ʻiate ia ʻae fanga hoosi kulokula, naʻe pulepule mo lavatea.
9 Then sayd I, O my Lord, what are these? And the Angel that talked with me, sayde vnto me, I wil shew thee what these be.
Pea naʻaku pehē ai, “ʻE hoku ʻeiki, ko hai ʻakinautolu na?” Pea naʻe pehē mai ʻe he ʻāngelo naʻa ma talanoa mo au, “Te u fakahā kiate koe ʻa hono ʻuhinga.
10 And the man that stood among the mirre trees, answered, and sayd, These are they whome the Lord hath sent to go through the world.
Pea naʻe tali mai ʻe he tangata, ʻaia naʻe tuʻu ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi ʻakau ko e maile, ʻo ne pehē, “Ko kinautolu ʻena kuo fekau atu ʻe Sihova ke feʻaluʻaki fano ʻi māmani.”
11 And they answered the Angel of the Lord, that stood among the mirre trees, and sayd, We haue gone thorowe the world: and beholde, all the world sitteth still, and is at rest.
Pea naʻe tali ʻekinautolu ki he ʻāngelo ʻa Sihova, ʻaia naʻe tuʻu ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe ngaahi ʻakau ko e maile, ʻo pehē, “Kuo mau feʻaluʻaki fano ʻi māmani, pea vakai, ʻoku nofo lelei pe ʻa māmani kotoa pē, pea ʻoku fiemālie.”
12 Then the Angel of the Lord answered and sayd, O Lord of hostes, howe long wilt thou be vnmercifull to Ierusalem, and to the cities of Iudah, with whom thou hast bene displeased now these threescore and ten yeeres?
Pea naʻe toki tali ʻe he ʻāngelo ʻa Sihova, ʻo pehēange, “ʻE Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻe fēfē hono fuoloa mo hoʻo taʻeʻaloʻofa ki Selūsalema, pea mo e ngaahi kolo ʻo Siuta, ʻaia kuo ke houhau ki ai ʻi he taʻu ni ʻe fitungofulu?”
13 And the Lord answered the Angel that talked with me, with good wordes and comfortable wordes.
Pea naʻe tali ʻaki ʻe Sihova ki he ʻāngelo naʻe talanoa mo au, ʻae ngaahi lea lelei mo e ngaahi lea fakafiemālie.
14 So the Angel that communed with me, said vnto me, Crie thou, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I am ielous ouer Ierusalem and Zion with a great zeale,
Ko ia naʻe pehē ai kiate au ʻe he ʻāngelo naʻa ma talanoa, “Kalanga, ʻa koe ʻo pehē, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻoku ou fuaʻa koeʻuhi ko Selūsalema, pea mo Saione ʻi he fuaʻa ʻoku lahi.
15 And am greatly angrie against the carelesse heathen: for I was angrie but a litle, and they helped forward the affliction.
Pea ʻoku ou mamahi ʻaupito ki he ngaahi puleʻanga ʻoku fakafiemālie: he naʻe kei siʻi pe ʻeku mamahi ka naʻa nau fakatupu pe ʻae mamahi.
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord, I wil returne vnto Ierusalem with tender mercie: mine house shall be builded in it, saith the Lord of hostes, and a line shall be stretched vpon Ierusalem.
Ko ia ʻoku pehē ai ʻe Sihova; kuo u foki mai mo e ʻaloʻofa ki Selūsalema, ʻe langa hoku fale ʻi ai, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, pea ʻe falō atu ʻae afo ki Selūsalema.”
17 Cry yet, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, My cities shall yet be broken with plentie: the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet chuse Ierusalem.
Toe kalanga foki, ʻo pehē, “ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; ʻe toe folofolahi atu ʻa hoku ngaahi kolo, ko e meʻa ʻi he monūʻia; pea ʻe toe fakafiemālieʻi ʻe Sihova ʻa Saione, pea te ne toe fili ʻa Selūsalema.”
18 Then lift I vp mine eyes and sawe, and beholde, foure hornes.
Pea naʻaku toki hanga hake hoku mata, pea u mamata, pea vakai, ko e nifoʻi ʻulu ʻe fā.
19 And I said vnto the Angel that talked with me, What be these? And hee answered me, These are the hornes which haue scattered Iudah, Israel, and Ierusalem.
Pea ne u fehuʻi ki he ʻāngelo, ʻaia naʻa ma talanoa mo au, “Ko e hā ʻena?” ʻAia naʻa ne pehē mai, “Ko e ngaahi nifo ʻena, ʻaia kuo ne fakahēʻi ʻa Siuta, mo ʻIsileli, pea mo Selūsalema.”
20 And the Lord shewed me foure carpenters.
Pea naʻe fakahā ʻe Sihova kiate au ʻae kau tufunga ʻe toko fā.
21 Then said I, What come these to doe? And he answered, and said, These are the hornes, which haue scattered Iudah, so that a man durst not lift vp his head: but these are come to fray them, and to cast out the hornes of the Gentiles, which lift vp their horne ouer the land of Iudah, to scatter it.
Pea naʻaku pehē ai ʻeau, “Kuo haʻu ʻakinautolu ke fai ʻae hā?” Pea ne folofola mai, ʻo pehē, “Ko e ngaahi nifo ʻena ʻaia ne ne fakahēʻi ʻa Siuta, pea ko ia naʻe ʻikai faʻa hanga hake ʻe ha tangata ʻa hono mata: ka kuo haʻu ʻakinautolu na ke maumauʻi ʻakinautolu, mo lī atu kituʻa ʻae ngaahi nifo ʻoe kau Senitaile, ʻakinautolu naʻe hiki hake honau nifo ki he fonua ʻo Siuta, ko hono fakahēʻi.”
