Zechariah 1

1 In the eight moneth of the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo, the Prophet, saying,

௧தரியு அரசாண்ட இரண்டாம் வருடம் எட்டாம் மாதத்திலே இத்தோவின் மகனான பெரகியாவின் மகனாகிய சகரியாவுக்கு உண்டான யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை:

2 The Lord hath bene sore displeased with your fathers.

௨யெகோவா உங்கள் முன்னோர்களின்மேல் கடுங்கோபமாயிருந்தார்.

3 Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne ye vnto me, saith the Lord of hostes, and I will turne vnto you, saith the Lord of hostes.

௩ஆகையால் நீ அவர்களை நோக்கி: சேனைகளின் யெகோவா உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால்: என்னிடத்தில் திரும்புங்கள் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்; அப்பொழுது நான் உங்களிடத்திற்குத் திரும்புவேன் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

4 Be ye not as your fathers, vnto whome the former prophets haue cried, saying, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne you nowe from your euill wayes, and from your wicked workes: but they would not heare, nor hearken vnto me, saith the Lord.

௪உங்கள் முன்னோர்களைப்போல் இருக்காதீர்கள்; முந்தின தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் அவர்களை நோக்கி: உங்கள் பொல்லாத வழிகளையும், உங்கள் பொல்லாத செயல்களையும்விட்டுத் திரும்புங்கள் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்று கூப்பிட்டார்கள்; ஆனாலும் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுக்காமலும் என்னைக் கவனிக்காமலும் போனார்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

5 your fathers, where are they? and doe the Prophets liue for euer?

௫உங்கள் முன்னோர்கள் எங்கே? தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் என்றென்றைக்கும் உயிரோடிருப்பார்களோ?

6 But did not my wordes and my statutes, which I commanded by my seruants ye Prophets, take holde of your fathers? and they returned, and sayd, As the Lord of hostes hath determined to doe vnto vs, according to our owne wayes, and according to our workes, so hath hee dealt with vs.

௬இல்லாமற்போனாலும், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளாகிய என் ஊழியக்காரர்களுக்கு நான் கட்டளையிட்ட என் வார்த்தைகளும் என் தீர்மானங்களும் உங்கள் முன்னோர்களிடத்தில் பலிக்கவில்லையோ? எங்கள் வழிகளின்படியேயும், எங்கள் செயல்களின்படியாகவும் சேனைகளின் யெகோவா எங்களுக்குச் செய்ய தீர்மானித்தபடியே எங்களுக்குச் செய்தாரென்று அவர்கள் திரும்பவந்து சொன்னதில்லையோ என்று சொல் என்றார்.

7 Vpon the foure and twentieth day of the eleuenth moneth, which is the moneth Shebat, in the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo the Prophet, saying,

௭தரியு அரசாண்ட இரண்டாம் வருடம், சேபாத் மாதமாகிய பதினோராம் மாதம் இருபத்திநான்காம் தேதியிலே, யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை இத்தோவின் மகனான பெரகியாவின் மகன் சகரியா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசிக்கு உண்டானது; அவன் சொன்னது:

8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding vpon a red horse, and hee stood among the mirre trees, that were in a bottome, and behinde him were there red horses speckeled and white.

௮இதோ, இன்று இரவிலே சிவப்புக்குதிரையின்மேல் ஏறியிருந்த ஒரு மனிதனைக் கண்டேன்; அவர் பள்ளத்தாக்கில் இருக்கிற மிருதுச்செடிகளுக்குள்ளே நின்றார்; அவருக்குப் பின்னாலே சிவப்பும், மங்கின நிறமும், வெண்மையுமான குதிரைகள் இருந்தன.

9 Then sayd I, O my Lord, what are these? And the Angel that talked with me, sayde vnto me, I wil shew thee what these be.

௯அப்பொழுது நான்: என் ஆண்டவரே, இவர்கள் யாரென்று கேட்டேன்; என்னுடன் பேசுகிற தூதனானவர்: இவர்கள் யாரென்று நான் உனக்குக் காண்பிப்பேன் என்று சொன்னார்.

10 And the man that stood among the mirre trees, answered, and sayd, These are they whome the Lord hath sent to go through the world.

௧0அப்பொழுது மிருதுச்செடிகளுக்குள்ளே நின்ற அந்த மனிதன் மறுமொழியாக: இவர்கள் பூமியெங்கும் சுற்றிப்பார்க்கக் யெகோவா அனுப்பினவர்கள் என்றார்.

11 And they answered the Angel of the Lord, that stood among the mirre trees, and sayd, We haue gone thorowe the world: and beholde, all the world sitteth still, and is at rest.

௧௧பின்பு அவர்கள் மிருதுச்செடிகளுக்குள்ளே நின்ற யெகோவாவுடைய தூதனை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் பூமியெங்கும் சுற்றிப்பார்த்தோம்; இதோ, பூமிமுழுவதும் அமைதலாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.

12 Then the Angel of the Lord answered and sayd, O Lord of hostes, howe long wilt thou be vnmercifull to Ierusalem, and to the cities of Iudah, with whom thou hast bene displeased now these threescore and ten yeeres?

௧௨அப்பொழுது யெகோவாவுடைய தூதன் மறுமொழியாக: சேனைகளின் யெகோவாவே, இந்த எழுபது வருடங்களாக நீர் கோபங்கொண்டிருக்கிற எருசலேமின்மேலும் யூதா பட்டணங்களின்மேலும் எதுவரை இரங்காதிருப்பீர் என்று சொல்ல,

13 And the Lord answered the Angel that talked with me, with good wordes and comfortable wordes.

௧௩அப்பொழுது யெகோவா, என்னுடன் பேசின தூதனுக்கு நல்வார்த்தைகளையும் ஆறுதலான வார்த்தைகளையும் மறுமொழியாகச் சொன்னார்.

14 So the Angel that communed with me, said vnto me, Crie thou, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I am ielous ouer Ierusalem and Zion with a great zeale,

௧௪அப்பொழுது என்னுடன் பேசின தூதன் என்னை நோக்கி: சேனைகளின் யெகோவா உரைக்கிறது என்னவென்றால்: நான் எருசலேமுக்காகவும் சீயோனுக்காகவும் மகா வைராக்கியம் கொண்டிருக்கிறேன்.

15 And am greatly angrie against the carelesse heathen: for I was angrie but a litle, and they helped forward the affliction.

௧௫நான் கொஞ்சங் கோபங்கொண்டிருந்தபோது அவர்கள் தங்கள் தீங்கை அதிகரிக்கத் தேடினபடியினால், சுகமாக வாழுகிற அன்னியமக்கள்மேல் நான் கடுங்கோபம்கொண்டேன்.

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord, I wil returne vnto Ierusalem with tender mercie: mine house shall be builded in it, saith the Lord of hostes, and a line shall be stretched vpon Ierusalem.

௧௬ஆகையால் மனஉருக்கத்தோடே எருசலேமினிடத்தில் திரும்பினேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்; என் ஆலயம் அதிலே கட்டப்படும்; எருசலேமின்மேல் அளவுநூல் பிடிக்கப்படும் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்று கூறு என்றார்.

17 Cry yet, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, My cities shall yet be broken with plentie: the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet chuse Ierusalem.

௧௭இன்னும் என் பட்டணங்கள் நன்மையினால் நிரம்பியிருக்கும்; இன்னும் யெகோவா சீயோனைத் தேற்றரவு செய்வார்; இன்னும் எருசலேமைத் தெரிந்துகொள்வார் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்று மேலும் கூறு என்றார்.

18 Then lift I vp mine eyes and sawe, and beholde, foure hornes.

௧௮நான் என் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப்பார்த்தபோது, இதோ, நான்கு கொம்புகளைக் கண்டேன்.

19 And I said vnto the Angel that talked with me, What be these? And hee answered me, These are the hornes which haue scattered Iudah, Israel, and Ierusalem.

௧௯அவைகள் என்னவென்று என்னுடன் பேசின தூதனைக் கேட்டேன்; அதற்கு அவர்: இவைகள் யூதாவையும், இஸ்ரவேலையும், எருசலேமையும் சிதறடித்த தேசங்கள் என்றார்.

20 And the Lord shewed me foure carpenters.

௨0பின்பு யெகோவா எனக்கு நான்கு தொழிலாளிகளைக் காண்பித்தார்.

21 Then said I, What come these to doe? And he answered, and said, These are the hornes, which haue scattered Iudah, so that a man durst not lift vp his head: but these are come to fray them, and to cast out the hornes of the Gentiles, which lift vp their horne ouer the land of Iudah, to scatter it.

௨௧இவர்கள் என்ன செய்ய வருகிறார்களென்று கேட்டேன்; அதற்கு அவர்: ஒருவனும் தன் தலையை ஏறெடுக்கமுடியாதபடி அந்தக் கொம்புகள் யூதாவைச் சிதறடித்ததே, அவைகளுக்குப் பயமுறுத்துகிறதற்கும், யூதாவின் தேசத்தைப் பாழாக்கத் தங்கள் கொம்பை எடுத்த தேசங்களுடைய கொம்புகளை விழத்தள்ளுகிறதற்கும் இவர்கள் வந்தார்கள் என்றார்.
