Zechariah 7
1 And in the fourth yeere of King Darius, the worde of the Lord came vnto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth moneth, euen in Chisleu,
Pada tahun yang keempat zaman raja Darius datanglah firman TUHAN kepada Zakharia, pada tanggal empat bulan kesembilan, yakni bulan Kislew.
2 For they had sent vnto the House of God Sharezer, and Regem-melech and their men to pray before the Lord,
Adapun penduduk Betel telah mengutus Sarezer dan Regem-Melekh serta orang-orangnya untuk melunakkan hati TUHAN,
3 And to speake vnto the Priests, which were in the House of the Lord of hostes, and to the Prophets, saying, Should I weepe in the fift moneth, and separate my selfe as I haue done these so many yeeres?
untuk menanyakan kepada para imam dari rumah TUHAN semesta alam dan kepada nabi, demikian: "Haruskah kami sekalian menangis dan berpantang dalam bulan yang kelima seperti yang telah kami lakukan bertahun-tahun lamanya?"
4 Then came the word of the Lord of hostes vnto me, saying,
Maka datanglah firman TUHAN semesta alam kepadaku, bunyinya:
5 Speake vnto all the people of the land, and to the Priests, and say, When ye fasted, and mourned in the fift and seuenth moneth, euen the seuentie yeeres, did ye fast vnto me? doe I approoue it?
"Katakanlah kepada seluruh rakyat negeri dan kepada para imam, demikian: Ketika kamu berpuasa dan meratap dalam bulan yang kelima dan yang ketujuh selama tujuh puluh tahun ini, adakah kamu sungguh-sungguh berpuasa untuk Aku?
6 And when ye did eate, and when ye did drinke, did ye not eate for your selues, and drinke for your selues?
Dan ketika kamu makan dan ketika kamu minum, bukankah kamu makan dan minum untuk dirimu sendiri?
7 Should ye not heare the wordes, which the Lord hath cryed by the ministerie of the former Prophets when Ierusalem was inhabited, and in prosperitie, and the cities thereof round about her, when the South and the plaine was inhabited?
Bukankah ini firman yang telah disampaikan TUHAN dengan perantaraan para nabi yang dahulu, ketika Yerusalem dengan kota-kota yang di sekelilingnya masih didiami orang dan masih sentosa dan Tanah Negeb dan Daerah Bukit masih didiami?"
8 And the worde of the Lord came vnto Zechariah, saying,
Firman TUHAN datang kepada Zakharia, bunyinya:
9 Thus speaketh the Lord of hostes, saying, Execute true iudgement, and shewe mercy and compassion, euery man to his brother,
"Beginilah firman TUHAN semesta alam: Laksanakanlah hukum yang benar dan tunjukkanlah kesetiaan dan kasih sayang kepada masing-masing!
10 And oppresse not the widowe, nor the fatherles, the stranger nor the poore, and let none of you imagine euil against his brother in your heart.
Janganlah menindas janda dan anak yatim, orang asing dan orang miskin, dan janganlah merancang kejahatan dalam hatimu terhadap masing-masing."
11 But they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their eares, that they should not heare.
Tetapi mereka tidak mau menghiraukan, dilintangkannya bahunya untuk melawan dan ditulikannya telinganya supaya jangan mendengar.
12 Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, least they should heare the Lawe and the wordes which the Lord of hostes sent in his spirit by the ministerie of ye former Prophets: therefore came a great wrath from the Lord of hostes.
Mereka membuat hati mereka keras seperti batu amril, supaya jangan mendengar pengajaran dan firman yang disampaikan TUHAN semesta alam melalui roh-Nya dengan perantaraan para nabi yang dahulu. Oleh sebab itu datang murka yang hebat dari pada TUHAN.
13 Therefore it is come to passe, that as he cried, and they would not heare, so they cried, and I would not heare, sayth the Lord of hostes.
"Seperti mereka tidak mendengarkan pada waktu dipanggil, demikianlah Aku tidak mendengarkan pada waktu mereka memanggil, firman TUHAN semesta alam.
14 But I scattered them among all the nations, whom they knew not: thus the land was desolate after them, that no man passed through nor returned: for they layd the pleasant land waste.
Oleh sebab itu Aku meniupkan mereka seperti angin badai ke antara segala bangsa yang tidak dikenal mereka, dan sesudahnya tanah itu menjadi sunyi sepi, sehingga tidak ada yang lalu lalang di sana; demikianlah mereka membuat negeri yang indah itu menjadi tempat yang sunyi sepi."
