Zechariah 2

1 I lift vp mine eyes againe and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.

Alcé entonces mis ojos, y miré, y vi a un hombre que tenía en su mano una cuerda de medir.

2 Then saide I, Whither goest thou? And he saide vnto me, To measure Ierusalem, that I may see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

Le pregunté: «¿A dónde vas?» «A medir a Jerusalén», me contestó. «Quiero ver cuánta es su anchura, y cuánta su longitud.»

3 And beholde, the Angel that talked with me, went foorth: and another Angel went out to meete him,

Y he aquí que el ángel que hablaba conmigo salió fuera, y otro ángel vino a su encuentro.

4 And saide vnto him, Runne, speake to this yong man, and say, Ierusalem shalbe inhabited without walles, for the multitude of men and cattell therein.

y le dijo: «Corre, habla a ese joven y dile: Sin muros será habitada Jerusalén, a causa de la multitud de hombres y animales que habrá en ella.»

5 For I, saith the Lord, will be vnto her a wall of fire round about, and wil be the glory in the middes of her.

Porque Yo mismo, dice Yahvé, la circundaré como muralla de fuego; y seré glorificado en medio de ella.

6 Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the North, saith the Lord: for I haue scattered you into the foure winds of the heauen, saith ye Lord.

¡Ay, ay! Huid de la tierra del Norte, dice Yahvé; porque por los cuatro vientos del cielo os dispersaré, dice Yahvé.

7 Saue thy selfe, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babel.

¡Sálvate, oh Sión, tú que habitas en Babilonia!

8 For thus saith the Lord of hostes, After this glory hath hee sent me vnto the nations, which spoyled you: for he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of his eye.

Porque así dice Yahvé de los ejércitos, el cual me ha enviado, para gloria suya, a los pueblos que os despojaron: Quien os toca a vosotros, toca a la niña de sus ojos.

9 For beholde, I will lift vp mine hand vpon them: and they shalbe a spoyle to those that serued them, and ye shall knowe, that the Lord of hostes hath sent me.

He aquí que extiendo sobre ellos mi mano, y serán presa de los que fueron sus esclavos. Y conoceréis que Yahvé de los ejércitos me ha enviado.

10 Reioyce, and be glad, O daughter Zion: for loe, I come, and will dwell in the middes of thee, saith the Lord.

¡Canta y alégrate, hija de Sión! pues he aquí que vengo, y moraré en medio de ti, dice Yahvé.

11 And many nations shall be ioyned to the Lord in that day, and shalbe my people: and I will dwell in the middes of thee, and thou shalt knowe that the Lord of hostes hath sent me vnto thee.

En aquel día se allegarán a Yahvé muchas naciones y serán el pueblo mío. Yo habitaré en medio de ti, y conocerás que Yahvé de los ejércitos me ha enviado a ti.

12 And the Lord shall inherite Iudah his portion in the holy lande, and shall chuse Ierusalem againe.

Yahvé ocupará a Judá como porción suya, en la tierra santa, y escogerá de nuevo a Jerusalén.

13 Let all flesh be still before the Lord: for he is raised vp out of his holy place.

Calle toda carne ante Yahvé, porque se levanta ya de su santa morada.
