Zechariah 1
1 In the eight moneth of the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo, the Prophet, saying,
I åttonde månaden av Darejaves' andra regeringsår kom HERRENS ord till Sakarja, son till Berekja, son till Iddo, profeten, han sade:
2 The Lord hath bene sore displeased with your fathers.
Svårt förtörnad var HERREN på edra fäder.
3 Therefore say thou vnto them, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne ye vnto me, saith the Lord of hostes, and I will turne vnto you, saith the Lord of hostes.
Säg därför nu till folket så säger HERREN Sebaot: Vänden om till mig, säger HERREN Sebaot, så vill jag vända om till eder, säger HERREN Sebaot.
4 Be ye not as your fathers, vnto whome the former prophets haue cried, saying, Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, Turne you nowe from your euill wayes, and from your wicked workes: but they would not heare, nor hearken vnto me, saith the Lord.
Varen icke såsom edra fäder, för vilka forna tiders profeter predikade och sade: "Så säger HERREN Sebaot: Vänden om från edra onda vägar och edra onda gärningar"; men de ville icke höra och aktade icke på mig säger HERREN.
5 your fathers, where are they? and doe the Prophets liue for euer?
Edra fäder, var äro de? Och profeterna, leva de kvar evinnerligen?
6 But did not my wordes and my statutes, which I commanded by my seruants ye Prophets, take holde of your fathers? and they returned, and sayd, As the Lord of hostes hath determined to doe vnto vs, according to our owne wayes, and according to our workes, so hath hee dealt with vs.
Nej, men mina ord och mina rådslut, de som jag betrodde åt mina tjänare profeterna, de träffade ju edra fäder, så att de måste vända om och säga: "Såsom HERREN Sebaot hade beslutit att göra med oss, och såsom våra vägar och våra gärningar förtjänade, så har han ock gjort med oss."
7 Vpon the foure and twentieth day of the eleuenth moneth, which is the moneth Shebat, in the second yeere of Darius, came the worde of the Lord vnto Zechariah the sonne of Berechiah, the sonne of Iddo the Prophet, saying,
På tjugufjärde dagen i elfte månaden, det är månaden Sebat, i Darejeves' andra regeringsår, kom HERRENS ord till Sakarja, son till Berekja, son till Iddo, profeten; han sade:
8 I saw by night, and behold a man riding vpon a red horse, and hee stood among the mirre trees, that were in a bottome, and behinde him were there red horses speckeled and white.
Jag hade en syn om natten: Jag fick se en man som red på en röd häst; och han höll stilla bland myrtenträden i dalsänkningen. Och bakom honom stodo andra hästar, röda, bruna och vita.
9 Then sayd I, O my Lord, what are these? And the Angel that talked with me, sayde vnto me, I wil shew thee what these be.
Då frågade jag: "Vad betyda dessa, min herre?" Ängeln som talade med mig svarade mig: "Jag vill låta dig förstå vad dessa betyda."
10 And the man that stood among the mirre trees, answered, and sayd, These are they whome the Lord hath sent to go through the world.
Och mannen som stod bland myrtenträden tog till orda och sade: "Det är dessa som HERREN har sänt ut till att fara omkring på jorden."
11 And they answered the Angel of the Lord, that stood among the mirre trees, and sayd, We haue gone thorowe the world: and beholde, all the world sitteth still, and is at rest.
Och själva togo de till orda och sade till HERRENS ängel, som stod bland myrtenträden: "Vi hava farit omkring på jorden och hava funnit hela jorden lugn och stilla."
12 Then the Angel of the Lord answered and sayd, O Lord of hostes, howe long wilt thou be vnmercifull to Ierusalem, and to the cities of Iudah, with whom thou hast bene displeased now these threescore and ten yeeres?
Då tog HERRENS ängel åter till orda och sade: "HERRE Sebaot, huru länge skall det dröja, innan du förbarmar dig över Jerusalem och Juda städer? Du har ju nu varit vred på dem i sjuttio år."
13 And the Lord answered the Angel that talked with me, with good wordes and comfortable wordes.
Och HERREN svarade ängeln som talade med mig goda och tröstliga ord;
14 So the Angel that communed with me, said vnto me, Crie thou, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I am ielous ouer Ierusalem and Zion with a great zeale,
och ängeln som talade med mig sade sedan till mig: "Predika och säg: Så säger HERREN Sebaot: Jag har stor nitälskan för Jerusalem och Sion;
15 And am greatly angrie against the carelesse heathen: for I was angrie but a litle, and they helped forward the affliction.
och jag är storligen förtörnad på hednafolken, som sitta så säkra; ty när jag var allenast litet förtörnad, hjälpte de ytterligare till att fördärva.
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord, I wil returne vnto Ierusalem with tender mercie: mine house shall be builded in it, saith the Lord of hostes, and a line shall be stretched vpon Ierusalem.
Därför säger HERREN så: Jag vill åter vända mig till Jerusalem i barmhärtighet; mitt hus skall där bliva uppbyggt, säger HERREN Sebaot, och mätsnöret skall spännas över Jerusalem.
17 Cry yet, and speake, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, My cities shall yet be broken with plentie: the Lord shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet chuse Ierusalem.
Ytterligare må du predika och säga: Så säger HERREN Sebaot: Ännu en gång skola mina städer få njuta överflöd av goda håvor; ja, HERREN skall ännu en gång trösta Sion, och ännu en gång skall han utvälja Jerusalem."
18 Then lift I vp mine eyes and sawe, and beholde, foure hornes.
Sedan lyfte jag upp mina ögon och fick då se fyra horn.
19 And I said vnto the Angel that talked with me, What be these? And hee answered me, These are the hornes which haue scattered Iudah, Israel, and Ierusalem.
Då frågade jag ängeln som talade med mig: "Vad betyda dessa?" Han svarade mig: "Detta är de horn som hava förstrött Juda, Israel och Jerusalem."
20 And the Lord shewed me foure carpenters.
Sedan lät HERREN mig se fyra smeder.
21 Then said I, What come these to doe? And he answered, and said, These are the hornes, which haue scattered Iudah, so that a man durst not lift vp his head: but these are come to fray them, and to cast out the hornes of the Gentiles, which lift vp their horne ouer the land of Iudah, to scatter it.
Då frågade jag: "I vad ärende hava dessa kommit?" Han svarade: "De förra voro de horn som förströdde Juda, så att ingen kunde upplyfta sitt huvud; men nu hava dessa kommit för att injaga skräck hos dem, och för att slå av hornen på de hednafolk som hava lyft sitt horn mot Juda land, till att förströ dess inbyggare."
