< Song of Solomon 8 >

1 Oh that thou werest as my brother that sucked the brestes of my mother: I would finde thee without, I would kisse thee, then they should not despise thee.
‌ʻAmusiaange ʻeau kuo ke tatau mo ha tuongaʻane kiate au, ʻaia naʻe fakahuhu ʻi he ongo huhu ʻo ʻeku faʻē! Koeʻuhi ʻo kau ka ʻilo koe ʻituʻa. ke u ʻuma kiate koe, ʻo ʻikai mā ai.
2 I will leade thee and bring thee into my mothers house: there thou shalt teache me: and I will cause thee to drinke spiced wine, and newe wine of the pomegranate.
Ka ne pehē, te u tataki koe mo ʻomi koe ki he fale ʻo ʻeku faʻē, pea te ne ako kiate au: te u fakainu koe ʻi he uaine namu lelei, kuo huʻi ʻaki ʻeau ʻae huhuʻa melie ʻoe pomikanite.
3 His left hand shalbe vnder mine head, and his right hand shall embrace me.
Pea ʻe ʻi lalo ʻi hoku ʻulu ʻa hono nima toʻohema, pea fāʻufua au ʻe hono nima toʻomataʻu.
4 I charge you, O daughters of Ierusale, that you stir not vp, nor waken my loue, vntil she please.
‌ʻE ngaahi ʻofefine ʻo Selūsalema, ʻoku ou fekau kiate kimoutolu, ke ʻoua naʻa mou ueʻi pe fafangu ʻa hoku ʻofaʻanga, kaeʻoua ke faʻiteliha pe ia.
5 (Who is this that commeth vp out of the wildernesse, leaning vpon her welbeloued?) I raysed thee vp vnder an apple tree: there thy mother conceiued thee: there she coceiued that bare thee.
Ko hai eni ʻoku haʻu mei he toafa, ʻoku faʻaki kiate ia ʻoku ne ʻofa ai? Naʻaku hiki hake koe ʻi he lolo moli: naʻe fanauʻi koe ʻi ai ʻe hoʻo faʻē, naʻe fanauʻi ʻi ai koe ʻe ia naʻa ne fāʻeleʻi koe.
6 Set mee as a seale on thine heart, and as a signet vpon thine arme: for loue is strong as death: ielousie is cruel as the graue: the coles thereof are fierie coles, and a vehement flame. (Sheol h7585)
‌ʻAi au ki ho loto ʻo hangē ko e fakamaʻu ʻo ha tohi, pea hangē ko e mama ki ho nima; he ʻoku mālohi ʻae ʻofa ʻo tatau mo e mate; ʻoku ongongataʻa ʻae fuaʻa ʻo hangē ko e faʻitoka: ko hono malala ʻoku hangē ko e malalaʻi afi, ʻaia ʻoku ulo kakaha. (Sheol h7585)
7 Much water can not quench loue, neither can the floods drowne it: If a man should giue all the substance of his house for loue, they would greatly contemne it.
‌ʻOku ʻikai faʻa tāmateʻi ʻae ʻofa ʻaki ʻae vai lahi, pea ʻe ʻikai mate ia ʻi he ngaahi vaitafe ʻoku lahi: pea kapau ʻe foaki ʻe ha tangata ʻae koloa kotoa pē ʻi hono fale ka ne maʻu ai ʻae ʻofa, ʻe lau pe ia ko e meʻa vaʻinga.
8 Wee haue a litle sister, and she hath no breastes: what shall we do for our sister when she shalbe spoken for?
‌ʻOku ai homau tehina, pea ʻoku teʻeki hunuki hono huhu: pea ko e hā te mau fai ʻoka hoko ʻae ʻaho ke alea ki ai?
9 If shee be a wall, we will builde vpon her a siluer palace: and if she be a doore, we wil keepe her in with bordes of cedar.
Kapau ko e ʻā ia, te mau fokotuʻu ki ai ha fale siliva: pea kapau ko e matapā ia, te mau teuteu ʻaki ia ʻae laupapa ko e sita.
10 I am a wall, and my breasts are as towres: then was I in his eyes as one that findeth peace.
Ko au ko e ʻā, pea tatau mo e fale māʻolunga ʻa hoku huhu: ko ia ia naʻaku tatau ai ʻi hono ʻao mo ha taha kuo maʻu ʻae fiemālie.
11 Salomon had a vine in Baal-hamon: hee gaue the vineyarde vnto keepers: euery one bringeth for ye fruite thereof a thousand pieces of siluer.
Naʻe ia Solomone ʻae ngoue vaine ʻi Peali-Hamone: pea naʻa ne tuku ʻene ngoue vaine ki he kau tauhi: pea naʻe fekau ke ʻomi taki taha ʻae konga siliva ʻe afe, ko e totongi ki hono ngaahi fua.
12 But my vineyarde which is mine, is before me: to thee, O Salomon appertaineth a thousand pieces of siluer, and two hundreth to them that keepe the fruite thereof.
‌ʻOku ʻi hoku ʻao ʻa ʻeku ngoue vaine ʻaʻaku: pea ko koe ʻe Solomone, te ke maʻu mei ai ʻae konga siliva ʻe afe, kae tuku kiate kinautolu ʻoku tauhi hono fua ʻae uangeau.
13 O thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken vnto thy voyce: cause me to heare it.
‌ʻA koe ʻoku nofo ʻi he ngaahi ngoue, pea ʻoku ongoʻi ho leʻo ʻe ho kāinga: tuku au foki ke u fanongo ai.
14 O my welbeloued, flee away, and be like vnto the roe, or to the yong harte vpon ye mountaines of spices.
Fai vave ʻa hoku ʻofaʻanga, pea ke tatau koe mo e kāseli pe ko e hainite mui he ngaahi moʻunga ʻoe kakala.
