Romans 6
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue still in sinne, that grace may abounde? God forbid.
¿Qué diremos, pues? ¿Permaneceremos en el pecado, para que abunde la gracia?
2 Howe shall we, that are dead to sinne, liue yet therein?
De ninguna manera. Los que hemos muerto al pecado, ¿cómo viviremos todavía en él?
3 Knowe ye not, that all we which haue bene baptized into Iesus Christ, haue bene baptized into his death?
¿Ignoráis acaso que cuantos fuimos bautizados en Cristo Jesús, en su muerte fuimos bautizados?
4 We are buried then with him by baptisme into his death, that like as Christ was raysed vp from the dead to the glorie of the Father, so we also should walke in newnesse of life.
Por eso fuimos, mediante el bautismo, sepultados junto con Él en la muerte, a fin de que como Cristo fue resucitado de entre los muertos por la gloria del Padre, así también nosotros caminemos en nueva vida.
5 For if we be planted with him to the similitude of his death, euen so shall we be to the similitude of his resurrection,
Pues si hemos sido injertados ( en Él ) en la semejanza de su muerte, lo seremos también en la de su resurrección,
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sinne might be destroied, that henceforth we should not serue sinne.
sabiendo que nuestro hombre viejo fue crucificado ( con Él ) para que el cuerpo del pecado sea destruido, a fin de que no sirvamos más al pecado;
7 For he that is dead, is freed from sinne.
pues el que murió, justificado está del pecado.
8 Wherefore, if we bee dead with Christ, we beleeue that we shall liue also with him,
Y si hemos muerto con Cristo, creemos que viviremos también con Él;
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead, dieth no more: death hath no more dominion ouer him.
sabiendo que Cristo, resucitado de entre los muertos, ya no muere; la muerte ya no puede tener dominio sobre Él.
10 For in that hee died, hee died once to sinne but in that he liueth, he liueth to God.
Porque la muerte que Él murió, la murió al pecado una vez para siempre; mas la vida que Él vive, la vive para Dios.
11 Likewise thinke ye also, that ye are dead to sin, but are aliue to God in Iesus Christ our Lord.
Así también vosotros teneos por muertos para el pecado, pero vivos para Dios en Cristo Jesús.
12 Let not sinne reigne therefore in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in ye lusts therof:
No reine, pues, el pecado en vuestro cuerpo mortal, de modo que obedezcáis a sus concupiscencias,
13 Neither giue ye your members, as weapons of vnrighteousnes vnto sinne: but giue your selues vnto God, as they that are aliue from the dead, and giue your members as weapons of righteousnesse vnto God.
ni sigáis ofreciendo al pecado vuestros miembros como armas de iniquidad; antes bien, ofreceos vosotros mismos a Dios, como resucitados de entre los muertos, y vuestros miembros como armas de justicia para Dios.
14 For sinne shall not haue dominion ouer you: for ye are not vnder ye Lawe, but vnder grace.
Porque el pecado no tendrá dominio sobre vosotros; pues no estáis bajo la Ley, sino bajo la gracia.
15 What then? shall we sinne, because we are not vnder the Law, but vnder grace? God forbid.
Entonces ¿qué? ¿Pecaremos por cuanto no estamos bajo la Ley sino bajo la gracia? De ninguna manera.
16 Knowe ye not, that to whomsoeuer yee giue your selues as seruats to obey, his seruants ye are to whom ye obey, whether it be of sinne vnto death, or of obedience vnto righteousnesse?
¿No sabéis que si a alguien os entregáis como esclavos para obedecerle, esclavos sois de aquel a quien obedecéis, sea del pecado para muerte, sea de la obediencia para justicia?
17 But God be thanked, that ye haue beene the seruants of sinne, but yee haue obeyed from the heart vnto the forme of the doctrine, wherunto ye were deliuered.
Pero gracias a Dios, así como erais esclavos del pecado, habéis venido a ser obedientes de corazón a aquella forma de doctrina, a la cual os entregasteis;
18 Being then made free from sinne, yee are made the seruants of righteousnesse.
y libertados del pecado vinisteis a ser siervos de la justicia.
19 I speake after the maner of man, because of the infirmitie of your flesh: for as yee haue giuen your members seruants to vncleannes and to iniquitie, to commit iniquitie, so now giue your mebers seruants vnto righteousnesse in holinesse.
Hablo como suelen hablar los hombres, a causa de la flaqueza de vuestra carne. Porque así como para iniquidad entregasteis vuestros miembros como esclavos a la impureza y a la iniquidad, así ahora entregad vuestros miembros como siervos a la justicia para la santificación.
20 For when ye were the seruants of sinne, ye were freed from righteousnesse.
En efecto, cuando erais esclavos del pecado estabais independizados en cuanto a la justicia.
21 What fruit had ye then in those things, whereof ye are nowe ashamed? For the ende of those things is death.
¿Qué fruto lograbais entonces de aquellas cosas de que ahora os avergonzáis, puesto que su fin es la muerte?
