Romans 10

1 Brethren, mine hearts desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saued.

૧ભાઈઓ, ઇઝરાયલને સારુ મારા અંતઃકરણની ઇચ્છા તથા ઈશ્વરને મારી પ્રાર્થના છે કે તેઓ ઉદ્ધાર પામે.

2 For I beare them record, that they haue the zeale of God, but not according to knowledge.

૨કેમ કે હું તેઓ વિષે સાક્ષી આપું છું કે, ઈશ્વર માટે તેઓને આતુરતા છે, પણ તે જ્ઞાન પ્રમાણે નથી.

3 For they, being ignorant of the righteousnes of God, and going about to stablish their owne righteousnes, haue not submitted themselues to the righteousnes of God.

૩કેમ કે ઈશ્વરના ન્યાયીપણા વિષે અજાણ્યા હોવાથી તથા પોતાના ન્યાયીપણા ને સ્થાપન કરવા યત્ન કરતા હોવાથી તેઓ ઈશ્વરના ન્યાયીપણાને આધીન થયા નહિ.

4 For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousnes vnto euery one that beleeueth.

૪કેમ કે ખ્રિસ્ત તો દરેક વિશ્વાસ રાખનારને માટે ન્યાયીપણું પામવાના નિયમશાસ્ત્રની સંપૂર્ણતા છે.

5 For Moses thus describeth the righteousnes which is of the Lawe, That the man which doeth these things, shall liue thereby.

૫કેમ કે મૂસા ન્યાયીપણાના નિયમ વિષે લખે છે કે, ‘જે માણસ નિયમશાસ્ત્ર પ્રમાણે ન્યાયીપણું આચરે છે, તે તેના દ્વારા જીવશે.’”

6 But the righteousnes which is of faith, speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heauen? (that is to bring Christ from aboue)

૬પણ જે ન્યાયીપણું વિશ્વાસ ધ્વારા મળે છે તે એવું કહે છે કે, ‘તું તારા અંતઃકરણમાં ન કહે કે, ‘સ્વર્ગમાં કોણ ચઢશે?’ એટલે ખ્રિસ્તને નીચે લાવવાને;

7 Or, Who shall descend into the deepe? (that is to bring Christ againe from the dead) (Abyssos g12)

૭અથવા એ કે, ‘ઊંડાણમાં કોણ ઊતરશે?” એટલે ખ્રિસ્તને મૃત્યુમાંથી સજીવન કરવાને. (Abyssos g12)

8 But what sayth it? The worde is neere thee, euen in thy mouth, and in thine heart. This is the worde of faith which we preach.

૮પણ તે શું કહે છે? કે, ‘એ વચન તારી પાસે, તારા મુખમાં તથા તારા અંતઃકરણમાં છે.’” એટલે વિશ્વાસનું જે વચન અમે પ્રગટ કરીએ છીએ તે એ છે કે

9 For if thou shalt confesse with thy mouth the Lord Iesus, and shalt beleeue in thine heart, that God raised him vp from the dead, thou shalt be saued:

૯જો તું તારા મુખથી ઈસુને પ્રભુ તરીકે કબૂલ કરીશ અને ઈશ્વરે તેમને મૃત્યુમાંથી પાછા સજીવન કર્યા, એવો વિશ્વાસ તારા અંતઃકરણમાં કરીશ, તો તું ઉદ્ધાર પામીશ.

10 For with the heart man beleeueth vnto righteousnes, and with the mouth man confesseth to saluation.

૧૦કારણ કે ન્યાયીપણું પ્રાપ્ત કરવાને માટે અંતઃકરણથી વિશ્વાસ કરવામાં આવે છે અને ઉદ્ધાર પ્રાપ્ત કરવા માટે મુખથી કબૂલાત કરવામાં આવે છે.

11 For the Scripture saith, Whosoeuer beleeueth in him, shall not be ashamed.

૧૧કેમ કે શાસ્ત્રવચનો કહે છે કે, ‘ખ્રિસ્ત ઉપર જે કોઈ વિશ્વાસ કરશે તે શરમાશે નહિ.’”

12 For there is no difference betweene the Iewe and the Grecian: for he that is Lord ouer all, is rich vnto all, that call on him.

૧૨અહીં યહૂદી તથા ગ્રીકમાં કશો તફાવત નથી, કેમ કે સર્વના પ્રભુ એક જ છે અને જેઓ તેને વિનંતી કરે છે તેઓ સર્વ પ્રત્યે તે ખૂબ જ ઉદાર છે.

13 For whosoeuer shall call vpon the Name of the Lord, shalbe saued.

૧૩કેમ કે ‘જે કોઈ પ્રભુને નામે પ્રાર્થના કરશે તે ઉદ્ધાર પામશે.’”

14 But how shall they call on him, in whome they haue not beleeued? and how shall they beleeue in him, of whom they haue not heard? and howe shall they heare without a preacher?

૧૪પણ જેમનાં ઉપર તેઓએ વિશ્વાસ કર્યો નથી, તેમને તેઓ કેવી રીતે વિનંતી કરી શકે? વળી જેમને વિષે તેઓએ સાંભળ્યું નથી, તેમના ઉપર તેઓ કેવી રીતે વિશ્વાસ કરી શકે? વળી ઉપદેશક વગર તેઓ કેવી રીતે સાંભળી શકે?

15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, Howe beautifull are the feete of them which bring glad tidings of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

૧૫વળી તેઓને મોકલ્યા વગર તેઓ કેવી રીતે ઉપદેશ કરી શકે? ‘જેમ લખ્યું છે કે, શુભસંદેશ સંભળાવનારનાં પગલાં કેવાં સુંદર છે!’”

16 But they haue not all obeyed ye Gospel: for Esaias saith, Lord, who hath beleeued our report?

૧૬પણ બધાએ તે સુવાર્તા માની નહિ; કેમ કે યશાયા કહે છે કે, ‘હે પ્રભુ, અમારા સંદેશા પર કોણે વિશ્વાસ કર્યો છે?’

17 Then faith is by hearing, and hearing by the worde of God.

૧૭આમ, સંદેશો સાંભળવાથી વિશ્વાસ થાય છે તથા ખ્રિસ્તનાં વચન દ્વારા સંદેશો સાંભળવામાં આવે છે.

18 But I demaund, Haue they not heard? No doubt their sound went out through all the earth, and their wordes into the endes of the worlde.

૧૮પણ હું પૂછું છું કે, ‘શું તેઓએ નથી સાંભળ્યું?’ ‘હા ખરેખર, સમગ્ર પૃથ્વી પર તેઓનો અવાજ તથા દુનિયાના છેડાઓ સુધી તેઓના વચનો ફેલાયા છે.’”

19 But I demaund, Did not Israel knowe God? First Moses sayth, I will prouoke you to enuie by a nation that is not my nation, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.

૧૯વળી હું પૂછું છું કે, ‘શું ઇઝરાયલી લોકો જાણતા ન હતા?’ પ્રથમ મૂસા કહે છે કે, ‘જેઓ પ્રજા નથી તેવા લોકો પર હું તમારામાં ઈર્ષ્યા ઉત્પન્ન કરીશ; અણસમજુ પ્રજા ઉપર હું તમારામાં ક્રોધ ઉત્પન્ન કરીશ.

20 And Esaias is bolde, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not, and haue bene made manifest to them that asked not after me.

૨૦વળી યશાયા બહુ હિંમતથી કહે છે કે, ‘જેઓ મને શોધતાં ન હતા તેઓને હું મળ્યો; જેઓ મને શોધતાં ન હતા તેઓ આગળ હું પ્રગટ થયો.’”

21 And vnto Israel hee sayth, All the day long haue I stretched foorth mine hand vnto a disobedient, and gainesaying people.

૨૧પણ ઇઝરાયલ વિષે તો તે કહે છે કે, ‘આખો દિવસ ન માનનારા તથા વિરુદ્ધ બોલનારા લોકો તરફ મેં મારા હાથ લાંબા કર્યા.’”
