Psalms 95

1 Come, let vs reioyce vnto the Lord: let vs sing aloude vnto the rocke of our saluation.

Kommt, laßt uns Jahwe zujubeln, laßt uns zujauchzen dem Felsen, der unser Heil.

2 Let vs come before his face with praise: let vs sing loude vnto him with Psalmes.

Laßt uns mit Dank vor sein Angesicht kommen und mit Gesängen ihm zujauchzen.

3 For the Lord is a great God, and a great King aboue all gods.

Denn ein großer Gott ist Jahwe und ein großer König über alle Götter,

4 In whose hande are the deepe places of the earth, and the heightes of the mountaines are his:

er, in dessen Gewalt das Innerste der Erde, und dem die äußersten Höhen der Berge gehören.

5 To whome the Sea belongeth: for hee made it, and his handes formed the dry land.

Sein ist das Meer, denn er hat es geschaffen, und seine Hände haben das feste Land gebildet.

6 Come, let vs worship and fall downe, and kneele before the Lord our maker.

Kommt, laßt uns niederfallen und uns beugen, laßt uns knieen vor Jahwe, unserem Schöpfer.

7 For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheepe of his hande: to day, if ye will heare his voyce,

Denn er ist unser Gott, und wir sind das Volk, das er weidet, und die Schafe, die er mit seiner Hand leitet. Möchtet ihr doch heute auf seine Stimme hören!

8 Harden not your heart, as in Meribah, and as in the day of Massah in the wildernesse.

Verhärtet euer Herz nicht, wie zu Meriba, wie am Tage von Massa in der Wüste,

9 Where your fathers tempted me, proued me, though they had seene my worke.

wo mich eure Väter versuchten, mich prüften, obschon sie doch mein Thun gesehen!

10 Fourtie yeeres haue I contended with this generation, and said, They are a people that erre in heart, for they haue not knowen my wayes.

Vierzig Jahre hatte ich Ekel an diesem Geschlecht; da sprach ich: “Sie sind ein Volk irrenden Herzens; denn sie wollen nichts von meinen Wegen wissen.

11 Wherefore I sware in my wrath, saying, Surely they shall not enter into my rest.

“Und so schwur ich in meinem Zorn: Sie sollen nicht zu meiner Ruhestatt gelangen!”
