Psalms 90

1 A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, thou hast bene our habitation from generation to generation.

Oración de Moisés, varón de Dios. Oh Señor, Tú eres de generación en generación.

2 Before the mountaines were made, and before thou hadst formed the earth, and the world, euen from euerlasting to euerlasting thou art our God.

Antes que los montes fuesen engendrados, y naciesen la tierra y el orbe, y desde la eternidad hasta la eternidad, Tú, oh Dios, eres.

3 Thou turnest man to destruction: againe thou sayest, Returne, ye sonnes of Adam.

Tú reduces a los mortales al polvo, y les dices: “Reintegraos, hijos de Adán.”

4 For a thousande yeeres in thy sight are as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

Así como mil años son a tus ojos lo que el día de ayer, una vez que ha pasado, y lo que una vigilia de la noche,

5 Thou hast ouerflowed them: they are as a sleepe: in the morning he groweth like the grasse:

así (a los hombres) los arrebatas, y son como un sueño matutino, como la hierba verde;

6 In the morning it florisheth and groweth, but in the euening it is cut downe and withereth.

que a la mañana está en flor y crece, y a la tarde es cortada y se seca.

7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

Así también nos consumimos a causa de tu ira, y estamos conturbados por tu indignación.

8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, and our secret sinnes in the light of thy countenance.

Has puesto ante tus ojos nuestros delitos, y a la luz de tu rostro nuestros pecados ocultos,

9 For all our dayes are past in thine anger: we haue spent our yeeres as a thought.

porque todos nuestros días declinan por efecto de tu ira, nuestros días pasan como un suspiro.

10 The time of our life is threescore yeeres and ten, and if they be of strength, fourescore yeeres: yet their strength is but labour and sorowe: for it is cut off quickly, and we flee away.

Los días de nuestra vida son en suma setenta años, y en los robustos, ochenta; y los más de ellos son pena y vanidad, porque pronto han pasado y nos volamos.

11 Who knoweth the power of thy wrath? for according to thy feare is thine anger.

¿Quién pesa según el temor que te es debido la vehemencia de tu ira y tu indignación?

12 Teach vs so to nomber our dayes, that we may apply our heartes vnto wisdome.

Enséñanos a contar nuestros días, para que lleguemos a la sabiduría del corazón.

13 Returne (O Lord, howe long?) and be pacified toward thy seruants.

Vuélvete, Yahvé —¿hasta cuándo?— y sé propicio a tus siervos.

14 Fill vs with thy mercie in the morning: so shall we reioyce and be glad all our dayes.

Sácianos con tu misericordia desde temprano, para que nos gocemos y nos alegremos todos nuestros días.

15 Comfort vs according to the dayes that thou hast afflicted vs, and according to the yeeres that we haue seene euill.

Alégranos por los días en que nos humillaste, por los años en que conocimos la desventura.

16 Let thy worke bee seene towarde thy seruants, and thy glory vpon their children.

Manifiéstese a tus siervos tu obra, y a sus hijos tu gloria.

17 And let the beautie of the Lord our God be vpon vs, and direct thou the worke of our hands vpon vs, euen direct the worke of our handes.

Y la bondad del Señor, nuestro Dios, sea sobre nosotros; y conduce Tú las obras de nuestras manos, [para que prospere la obra de nuestras manos].
