Psalms 90
1 A prayer of Moses, the man of God. Lord, thou hast bene our habitation from generation to generation.
Ein Gebet Moses, des Mannes Gottes.
2 Before the mountaines were made, and before thou hadst formed the earth, and the world, euen from euerlasting to euerlasting thou art our God.
HERR Gott, du bist unsere Zuflucht für und für. Ehe denn die Berge worden und die Erde und die Welt geschaffen worden, bist du, Gott, von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit,
3 Thou turnest man to destruction: againe thou sayest, Returne, ye sonnes of Adam.
der du die Menschen lässest sterben und sprichst: Kommt wieder, Menschenkinder!
4 For a thousande yeeres in thy sight are as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
Denn tausend Jahre sind vor dir wie der Tag, der gestern vergangen ist, und wie eine Nachtwache.
5 Thou hast ouerflowed them: they are as a sleepe: in the morning he groweth like the grasse:
Du lässest sie dahinfahren wie einen Strom, und sind wie ein Schlaf, gleichwie ein Gras, das doch bald welk wird,
6 In the morning it florisheth and groweth, but in the euening it is cut downe and withereth.
das da frühe blühet und bald welk wird und des Abends abgehauen wird und verdorret.
7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
Das macht dein Zorn, daß wir so vergehen, und dein Grimm, daß wir so plötzlich dahin müssen.
8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, and our secret sinnes in the light of thy countenance.
Denn unsere Missetat stellest du vor dich, unsere unerkannte Sünde ins Licht vor deinem Angesichte.
9 For all our dayes are past in thine anger: we haue spent our yeeres as a thought.
Darum fahren alle unsere Tage dahin durch deinen Zorn; wir bringen unsere Jahre zu wie ein Geschwätz.
10 The time of our life is threescore yeeres and ten, and if they be of strength, fourescore yeeres: yet their strength is but labour and sorowe: for it is cut off quickly, and we flee away.
Unser Leben währet siebenzig Jahre, und wenn's hoch kommt, so sind's achtzig Jahre; und wenn's köstlich gewesen ist, so ist's Mühe und Arbeit gewesen; denn es fähret schnell dahin, als flögen wir davon.
11 Who knoweth the power of thy wrath? for according to thy feare is thine anger.
Wer glaubt es aber, daß du so sehr zürnest? und wer fürchtet sich vor solchem deinem Grimm?
12 Teach vs so to nomber our dayes, that we may apply our heartes vnto wisdome.
Lehre uns bedenken, daß wir sterben müssen, auf daß wir klug werden.
13 Returne (O Lord, howe long?) and be pacified toward thy seruants.
HERR, kehre dich doch wieder zu uns und sei deinen Knechten gnädig!
14 Fill vs with thy mercie in the morning: so shall we reioyce and be glad all our dayes.
Fülle uns frühe mit deiner Gnade, so wollen wir rühmen und fröhlich sein unser Leben lang.
15 Comfort vs according to the dayes that thou hast afflicted vs, and according to the yeeres that we haue seene euill.
Erfreue uns nun wieder, nachdem du uns so lange plagest, nachdem wir so lange Unglück leiden.
16 Let thy worke bee seene towarde thy seruants, and thy glory vpon their children.
Zeige deinen Knechten deine Werke und deine Ehre ihren Kindern!
17 And let the beautie of the Lord our God be vpon vs, and direct thou the worke of our hands vpon vs, euen direct the worke of our handes.
Und der HERR, unser Gott, sei uns freundlich und fördere das Werk unserer Hände bei uns; ja das Werk unserer Hände wolle er fördern!
